We had an excellent meal - Aaron was a great, personable server. The owner came to our table to see how we were doing. Overall great dinner!
Went here for an anniversary dinner, and got seated in a nice spot because of that. We waited in the bar area at first, and the bartender wasn't overly friendly or easy to get his attention to be served. Maybe he was having a bad day, but for a higher priced dining experience you kind of expect more in terms of service. The Filet Mignon was more tender and flavorful than the Wagyu Hanger steak- was expecting more out of the Wagyu, having it for the first time. Also was under salted. Steak Frites were very good, as was the wedge salad. But for the price, the steaks could've been better overall. Service was a little slow from the kitchen as they said they were understaffed. It appeared the owner? or manager? was helping, as he served us our steaks. Decent place, but we're from Atlanta, and it's hard to beat Atlanta restaurants.
Wonderful food and time. Truly enjoyed it. Steak was perfectly cooked.
Food and service were outstanding - loved the lamb lollipops on the lava rock!
My daughter had a get together for her birthday with 5 friends. They are 14 and had a great time. My wife and I sat at the bar and had a great experience with the bartenders. We all enjoyed our food and look forward to coming back later in the month for our traditional dinner before the Christmas symphony.
Excellent service throughout, Food was super great. One of the best steaks we had had ever.
We tried oysters and mussels as appetizer and they were excellent too.
Highly recommend this restaurant and will certainly go back.
Nathan and John - great job. Food was delicious and unique
Great steaks and service. The steaks were cooked to the exact temperature we requested. Michael took good care of us. Just ask for Mike when you arrive. I’m sure all of the servers are
Really enjoyed the food. The waiter was outstanding, friendly and did a great job
What an outstanding dinging experience. Our professional server, Michael, what helpful with wine and menu suggestions and very very entertaining. The food was excellent and exceeded our expectations. Do NOT skip the Wagu beef. It will our rib eyes seem pedestrian. We cannot wait to go back again.
Great dinner I just wished we were on the main floor. But meal was fabulous!!
We took some friends for their first visit to Burwell's and it was her Birthday. She said it was the best steak she has ever had. I have to agree. The desserts were simply amazing. Great service and the food was the best as always.
Excellent food and service. Very enjoyable evening with comfortable setting.
You get to know a restaurant by the greeting at the front. It was not a good welcome. The ground floor is more admirable than the second floor. We were seated on the second floor. Our server was very nice. The food is good. The Deviled eggs and Wedge salad were a good start.
Our entrees were not as expected; two of my sons ordered the 10 oz Filet Mignon, it was not no more than 5 Oz presented in an average way. Also, they came at different times; I saw how two of those steaks waited at the waiter's stand for about ten minutes. So the food was cold.
My other son and I ordered the NY Strip with Steak Frites; they were not at the right temperature as we requested; one was well done (I ordered it medium-plus), and my son was medium well when he ordered it Medium. So we returned the latest. My son ended up eating twenty minutes later, but the worst detail was that they brought him the steak solo with NO sides, which is an unfortunate element that speaks a lot about the restaurant.
The desserts were delicious, especially the Cinnamon tres leches. However, the drop that filled our cup was when we received the check and were charged five steaks instead of four.
Again, in the small details, the greatness is stored.
This is our 2nd time eating there - consistent positive experience indicates it’s a safe bet.
The food was amazing. Our waiter was Aaron (pretty sure!) and he was the best!!!! Great cocktails, the wagyu stone rock appetizer was delicious and so fun!!! I had the duck gumbo and YUM!!! Best date night. Highly recommend!
Good food, good drinks and good service. All that combined made for a wonderful experience.
Great place to eat! Waiters were very nice and helpful! the food was amazing the chef did a great job! He was very nice!
We went for an Anniversary dinner and were seated a little out of the way and a very nice little table for two. Everything was great. Thanks for the solid anniversary experience.
Terrific, locally owned establishment. Service and food was fantastic!!
Lovely meal and excellent service. Waitress very knowledgeable about food and wine.
Excellent food and service. Though very busy, the owner stopped by to ensure we were enjoying our meal.
Thanksgiving dinner was very good-- tasty, flavorful and the right amount.
The server and staff was pleasant and professional.
We enjoyed the nite for the first time at this restaurant.
Thanksgiving dinner was outstanding, not your ho hum cliched meal. We would definitely go back for a regular meal. Service and attention was also excused.
We had a Thanksgiving dinner here and it was perfect .. from tasty food to friendly service to a great vibe. So happy to have been able to spend the holiday here. While we had turkey, the steak looked cooked to perfection!
We were seated later than our reservation and it took longer than expected to get our food.
We love the 6oz filet. It’s just the right amount for us.
Got us in early with reservation! Great service! Awesome food and wonderful vibe! Highly recommend!
Our first time in Charleston and Burwell’s is a great spot. Fun atmosphere, greeted by owner John. We arrived a little early and enjoyed cocktails by Joe. Tyler was a wonderful, knowledgeable server. The hot rock appetizer was delicious and the Hanger steak was our tables favorite entree as well as the scallops.
From the happy hour drinks to the steaks, everything was amazing.
Great experience. Second time there. Kids loved cooking the meat on the stone. Deviled eggs… awesome. Steaks so good… hot stone cooking appetizer is a must!
Best steak I’ve ever had. I would highly recommend it! The chef came out and spoke to us after our dinner to make sure we were satisfied with our meal. Excellent service and fantastic ambience. Great wine selection to go with the steak!
Awesome food and service!
We took a chance and made a reservation. Wow, what a great meal. Honestly it was one of the best restaurant meals I've had in months. The petite filet was outstanding! I recommend it highly.
We had a wonderful dinner at Burwell’s. The food was delicious and the staff was very attentive. We waited less than five minutes for our table to be ready and during that wait every staff member who passed by asked if we had been helped!! Highly recommend.
Fantastic quaint little steak house. Very personalized service and love they had a little surprise for our anniversary!
Could not complain about anything if I tried. The deviled eggs were amazing, the steaks, the Charleston Manhattan’s, and the service was impeccable. We will definitely go back and recommend to anyone we know.
Amazing staff ... wonderful and delicious food ... #1 Charleston . Will be a return customer over and over
Very nice place. Great staff. Good was good. Will go again.
Burwells never disappoints! The service, food, and drinks are all amazing! It continues to be one of our favorite places downtown!
