Need to book at 7:00 AM?Other great restaurants with availability.
We loved this place and immediately made another reservation. Our waiter was outstanding, funny, warm and attentive without hovering. Salads were great, as was the cioppino and the swordfish! While it was noisy at first, it calmed down and we could hear each other. Lovely, lovely, don't miss this!
Our server was fantastic, gave us ideas on what to have, both food and wine. Our party of 4 had different meals and each claimed theirs was the best, tho mine was clearly superior. Both the duckling and the noodles were amazing.
Delicious food and service. Highly recommend this place in Little Italy.
Food was quite nice, but they pack too many people onto the street patio.
Servers and guests constantly bumping me as I tried to eat.
We had a reservation. Seated us as soon as we arrived. All dishes came out fast. Waitress was dome what friendly. Tables a little tight. My wife ravioli she said was very good. My veal was little tough. My vegetables just warm. Bread plus sauce was excellent. The cannolis were real good.
Really fantastic food - pappardelle ragu was perfectly seasoned (not too salty, al dente pasta). My fiancé had the Ravioli Con Salmone, which was creamy without being too heavy. Great atmosphere in the middle of a bustling Little Italy. However, if you’re looking for the FULL experience of a restaurant on a special occasion, the service leaves something to be desired.
Very rushed from beginning to end, including bringing over the cheque when it wasn’t asked for (we were there for maybe 35 minutes at this point and had just received our coffees). Food runners dropped our plates off without much care.
But again! Food is really great and Little Italy is awesome. Would maybe go back again after trying out other restaurants in the area.
It was a nice place, very tight fit, but nice.
We went for Valentine’s Dinner. The food was good. My only complaint is that we did not get asked if we wanted more bread on the table and that some of the food items in the menu were not available.
It was our 54th Wedding Anniversary, we asked to be seated at their other restaurant Sogno di Vino, which is usually quieter, we love babies, but this one was not happy, and we couldn’t here each other, but they were very nice to change our seating to Buon Appetito. Thank you so much! Our service and dinner was very good. They brought us a piece of tiramisu with candle to celebrate! Lovely evening!
Delicious Food! We will be back - Osso Buco, Swordfish, Salmon pasta and Filet with peppercorn sauce were all super yummy! Also, love the sauce they serve with the bread. So tasty...
Great Italian food at a reasonable price. I had the seafood linguine which contained a lot of fresh tasting seafood. The noodles were also very fresh. The tiramisu was delicious. Our server, Michella, was very friendly, efficient and attentive as was the worker who assisted.
Excellent food and great service. This is a small restaurant and very loud when full.
The main issues were related to the server and some of the noise in the restaurant. Our waiter was not very attentive, did not really smile, and came by maybe 3 times....not very pleasant or engaging.
The other issue was we were seated at table for 2 near a wall...which may have been adjacent to the kitchen area. Ans at certain times there was a loud "thud" as if something was being dropped on the floor. Due to obvious size of whatever it was, it created a reverberation to the wall and was fairly loud.
Overall, food was good and fairly satisfactory experience
Loved our table by the window! Thank you for such a nice evening.
Excellent food and service.
The food was wonderful and the service even better! Thank you!
Meeting long time friends from out of town
Good food, large portions . Nice selection of wines.
Excellent food and service! A+ The place was packed on Sunday night!
Service started off well then we were left at the table waiting and waiting for our server to help with a problem with our meal that was sent back. Food was not was it used to be. Lasagne was literally drowned in a bowl of marinara sauce and their “white”’sauce was average, something that I used to love. :-(
Buon Appetito is an outstanding Italian restaurant. They serve pasta along with other Italian dishes BUT the filet mignon cannot be beat anywhere in San Diego. If you are going to dine at Buon Appetito then don't miss one of the most outstanding steaks served anywhere on the West Coast.
Great food but waaaaaay too loud. Hard to hear people sitting right next to you. Will keep me from coming back much.
Food was delicious and prices were reasonable. Recommend making a reservation.
Don't miss this pentulament Italian restaurant. Fresh pasta, bread, cheeses, salumi and wines. Service is impeccable. We can't wait to dine at Buon Appetito again.
Great classic Italian food & wine
I found a piece of hair in my food last night.
Festive New Year’s Eve. Excellent food. Best tiramisu ever!
Quaint Italian restaurant in Little Italy. We ate outside on the sidewalk with patio heaters turned on. Quite comfortable. Food was great. Service also great. Somewhat cramped and busy, but sitting outside was wonderful. Believe inside was noisy. Italian bread with an outstanding marinara sauce for dipping was on the table almost as soon as we sat down...........really delicious. Would definitely return.
Fantastic food! Quick service. The staff was on point. We were in and out on New Year’s eve. Every time I’m in San Diego I try to visit this restaurant!
Vacation dinner...I would return, for sure!
Very traditional Italian restaurant feel and menu. Food quality was excellent. The hostess/waitress seemed a bit rushed and the overall vibe has a time pressured feel to it. I realize it is important to maximize revenue, especially on weekends, but I still like to be more relaxed when having a meal with friends. The restaurant is best for a quick, lighter meal before heading on to other evening activities.
Came recommended by concierge at hotel for good Italian meal. Food was just ok.
Delicious Pasta!! We ordered from the first page of specials. I asked for the fresh pasta and our waiter pointed it out. I can't find the menu on the website but ask for their fresh pasta.
We had the pasta stuffed with lobster in cream sauce. It was very good. But we liked the linguini with seafood best. These 2 we highly recommend. The pappardelle with wild boar was on the salty side. We also had the pork which was well cooked...very tender.
We had wonderful service. It was a little slow at first because they were very busy.
Always ask for the fresh pasta. It just melts in your mouth. After eating fresh pasta in Italy, I only want to eat fresh pasta and not every restaurant in Little Italy makes it fresh.
This was a great authentic Italian food. The pasta with seafood (shrimp and scallops) was very tasty. My son had veal Marsala and he loved it. My mom had a sea bass dish which she stated was delicious. The bread and dipping sauce was to die for. Even the deserts was to die for. We end our meal with a cappuccino. Giuseppe our waiter was great. If we ever get back to San Diego we will definitely be back. Highly recommend.
Food was just average for the price. There are many other Italian restaurants nearby that may be worth a look.
We arrived early and was taken to a back table that I didn’t know existed. So grateful for that room.
The food is all good no matter what you order.
My favorite is the eggplant appetizer. It’s actually large enough for an entree if you’re not starving.
Whenever we are in Little Italy we head to Buon Appetito.
Absolutely amazing food. Our waitress was outstanding and spot on. We will be back.
Extremely busy night, Christmas Eve. Showed up well before our reservation time & they could not accomadate us then... but we were seated within a couple of minutes of our reservation. Poorish table near open entrance door which was quite cool at times but we got to chat with a lot of folks about our trashy Xmas sweaters.
Staff was excellent... no grinchs here.
Will be back next time in San Diego.
