Bully's East Prime Bistro Sports Bar Ratings and Reviews
We made reservations for lunch on New Year's Eve. After having a lovely lunch last year at the same date and time we were very disappointed with our meal and service. Last year we were able to order from the regular dinner menu. This year we were told they had a limited menu and were unable to order some of our favorite meals. We had to ask for silverware, we weren't offered any bread, I ordered my prime rib medium rare, it came well done so I had to send it back.
None of the things are earth shattering, just disappointing. I could understand it if the restaurant was super busy, but I only saw 5 tables with other customers. Then when I got home I received a message from Open Table asking why I hadn't shown up for my reservation at Bully's, even though we walked in and told them we had a reservation. ...ugh!
Very disappointing this time. I've been going to Bully's for over 30 years and the last 2 visits have been disappointing. I ordered the Brisket and it was inedible. The server Hannah didn't seem too concerned, made a joke about how she would never eat it and offered to replace it, obviously I said no thank you and ordered a steak instead. Somebody else came by, I'm assuming the duty manager to tell me I'm not the first to complain and that they would be taking brisket off the menus. Poor customer service. Another disappointing visit to What used to be a great place for dinner.
Had Thanksgiving meal with family second year in a row at Bully's East. Just like home cooked meal, with all the trimmings and bottles of wine half price. Add the outstanding service, and it made for a great day without grandma or mom having to do a lot of work. Will do again next Thanksgiving and other times. Strongly recommend!
Bully's has been our "go to" restaurant for decades for dinner, "early bird" dinner, lunch, brunch, large get together's with friends &, of course, holiday meals! My Mom & I chose to have our Thanksgiving meal at Bully's again this year. Our waitress, Kayla, was wonderful; genuinely friendly and very attentive. Our Turkey dinners with all of the "trimmings" were delicious and all for a very reasonable price (especially when compared to other area restaurant Thanksgiving prices).
i know it was Thanksgiving and upon arrival we were escorted to our table. We were being given a regular table and not one of the 8 open booths in the same room. I asked for a booth and was told that due to the over 400 reservations for that day they could not accommodate. Interesting that 6 of the booths were still empty when we finished dining and there was no mad rush of people coming in nor was the restaurant even close to full. The food and service was very good but the reception and ensuing handling of the matter was not really well done.
Loved the Prime rib!
Strongly suggest reservations since this restaurant is usually busy and you don't want to wait. However, there is seating by the bar that can make the wait seem shorter... The booth we had was in a corner where the four of us could chat at a reasonable level. The server appeared quickly, as throughout the meal, shared the specials, answered questions, took our orders, served the meal, and cleared the dishes, all within a timely and efficient manner. The range of our orders; fish to steak, all had positive comments. Highly recommend this location (there are others).
We just wanted a place to watch the Aztec football game, have some good food and a few drinks. We were very impressed. Food was all delicious, servings were good, and price was affordable. The lightning bolt margaritas were good, and there was a good beer selection to go along with everything else. Atmosphere was very nice, as well as the service. We will be back
Although I love the food here, I was not happy that the price on the web site and what I paid was different. When I "googled" Bully's East, the 8 oz prime rib showed $20 and that's why I made the reservation. I was paying for a friend's dinner so didn't want to make a comment when the bill came; however, when I got home, I checked their web site and the 8 oz lists as $23; I paid $25. It would be nice if Bully's gave me a credit.
First time trying out Bully's East. I had heard the name here and there but had never tried it, so went for a date night on a Friday evening. Really impressed! Doesn't look like much on the outside, but very large inside and cool atmosphere. Very old school looking bar with great selections. Lots of televisions for watching sports. A nice variety on the menu including lots of steak options. I had the prime rib which was very good. And we both really enjoyed our mixed drinks. Servers were very friendly and welcoming, which was nice because it seemed to have a lot of locals who know the place well. Really good time I will return.
We had a good time ... 2 birthdays. Were disappointed that they no longer have Prime Rib for 2. Overall the food was good & they did compliment the 2 birthday people with free cheesecake. Hostess was extremely nice & helpful ... waitress left something to be desired ... she was OK. Bus Boy was awesome ... he was on it!
This used to be be a decent steakhouse
Now it's a sports bar
They would be better off getting samples from Costco
The steaks were sub par and tasted like cardboard with gristle
They screwed up the drinks, the salad was ok
But perhaps the wedge salad should have the root cut off.. The baked potatoes must have been from yesterday's dinner. The sautéed mushrooms were not sautéed. They were boiled in cheap wine.... All in all, yuck
We have enjoyed Bullys East's prime rib a lot in the past but this visit it was overly marbled with fat and arrived only warm, not hot.
The big change that causes me not to recommend this restaurant until it is solved is new lighting recently installed in the dining rooms. It is too bright for the type of venue and the bulbs appear to be clear glass LED bulbs which typically bear warnings on the packaging not to look directly at them. This is impossible because they are all over the room. I asked our server if the light over our table could be dimmed but she said due to issues caused by the recent electrical overhaul it could not be dimmed. Bully's East needs to get their electrician back in there to fix this situation. I unscrewed the bulb over our table but overly bright bulbs were still in our sight lines all over the room.
