Bull & Bear Steakhouse
At the bar, enjoy quality cocktails, high-end spirits and an extensive wine list.
It was perfect in every aspect. From the food to the service.
Overly pretentious and grossly overpriced -- that's Bull & Bear. The Allen Bros. steaks are very good, though pricy -- my NY Strip was $60 and the Tomahawk Ribeye for two was I believe $150 -- and service was good, though perhaps delivering less than promised. My wedge salad was incredibly bad -- the lettuce was literally inedible.
My Bombay Sapphire martini was great, though at $20 overpriced (that included $1 extra for 2 blue cheese stuffed olives!) Wines by the glass started at around $18 and most were in the $20s to $40s.
Our dinner for four with one a total of 3 glasses of wine and 3 cocktails came to over $700 with tip. Next time in Orlando I'll go to Ruth's Chris.
10/10 across the board! Exceptional food service ambiance!
Based on the prior reviews we were looking forward to a memorable evening. The food especially the table side preparation is quite good - until the restaurant became busy then we were ignored for larger tables/tips. Waited 45minutes after placed dessert/coffee order. Had to ask for water, bread and forgotten wine service. Disappointing way to end the evening. After a 3hour meal and $350, had to ask for our check and never thanked for patronage. I believe another night might be different/better but didn’t live up to expectations for us. Five star food, 1 star for service.
We have stayed at the Waldorf Astoria Orlando several times and always dine at the Bull & Bear (every night). The atmosphere is upscale but comfortable, the food is exceptional and the service is 2nd to none. The attention to detail in all aspects is unmatched but what really makes this restaurant special is (A/GM) Luis's Team who strike the perfect balance of professionalism and personalization. Stop by and see Justin, Justin & Cameron at the bar or enjoy dinner where anyone would make your evening special. That said, special recognition to Captains Marcio & Patrick, Servers Scott & Ebber as well as Toni & Tyler. You won't regret giving them your time and business -- they will give you so much back in return!
The most amazing dinner! The food, the service and over all everything was hands down outstanding.
We went to celebrate my sister's 30th birthday and absolutely every moment of our experience was stellar. From the amazing service team, (thank you Marcio, Brittney, Alex, Paul) to the fabulous food and drinks, we were impressed at every step. They showed attention to detail and true hospitality while making our evening special. I'll be sure to send anyone I know in the Orlando area in for a chance to treat themselves!
Just one word; lovely and FANTASTIC...from beginning to end!
Our experience was a great high-end dining experience reconfirming its rating as the very best fine dining PLACE (together with Victoria & Albert) in GREATER ORLANDO AREAS:
SETTING, creative, well-balanced RECIPES and WINES offerings...JUST GREAT.
All the above supported BY THE FINEST AMBIANCE AND SERVICE THAT CAN BE FOUND IN THE AREA....and beyond.
ESPECIAL HIGHLIGHTS. WERE THEIR DESSERTS... DELICIOUSLY AND CREATIVE!
THANKS TO TIM and to all the very attentive staff...and managing team
For high-end gastronomes and wines lovers, like we are, that experience was greatly enhanced with Tim’s acknowledging and particular suggestions on pairings our selected recipes with the very best and fine wines of the world
Second time to Bull and Bear.
Amazing food and service.
Not many fine dining restaurants in Orlando but this one is by far the best!
Absolutely perfect experience from the moment we walked in. The service team was top notch, educated on the menu and courses. The food came out at just the right time. The Tomahawk steak was cooked perfectly and the asparagus and mashed potatoes were the perfect compliment. The manager gave us the history of the restaurant and showed his genuine love for his skill set. We pride ourselves on great steaks and Bull & Bear just took the top tier for central Florida
Excellent service beginning to end. Staff worked well as a team and provided good suggestions and explanations. Food was served perfectly, and was well prepared. Caesar salad prepared at table side was excellent. Chateaubriand for two was one of best we have had. Another in our party had salmon and loved it. It was a beautiful evening. You will enjoy!
Our second year to play golf, stay and eat at the Waldorf for our anniversary. Fabulous!
Excellent food and service.
Truly the most wonderful experience ever! This restaurant was so thoughtful and attentive and the food was amazing. I cannot recommend bull and bear more!!!
I took my wife and daughter to the Bull & Bear to celebrate my wife’s birthday. This is a great special occasion kind of restaurant, and we reserve it for such, given the exorbitant menu prices. The decor and food are excellent, and the service is what you would expect from a fine dining restaurant. The only reason I did not rate the service as five stars is because I was a little taken aback by the salad preparation person’s insinuation that I ruined my Caesar salad by the amount of pepper I put on it (the amount of pepper one chooses to use as a spice is a matter of personal preference, and I simply felt it inappropriate for the server to make such a comment). Of special note were the french-fried potatoes, the creme brûlée (which was a surprise complimentary offering) and the strawberry ice cream dessert, which was prepared tableside—all were outstanding. All in all, an excellent meal, but the prices of this restaurant are simply far too high for even well-to-do locals to enjoy on a regular basis
Easily one of the best steakhouses in the country.
Everything about our experience at the Bull & Bear was exceptional. We started with cocktails that were creative and complex in their ingredients. Dinner was equally amazing. There was an obvious pride in craft and presentation from the kitchen and throughout the entire restaurant. We finished with 'The Lemon'. This lemon is carefully deconstructed, prepared with custard and sorbet, and reassembled. The simplicity of the presentation is art.
We were spoiled. During our evening the attention from the wait staff was continuous, yet relaxed.
We found this to be at the top of our dining experiences. I would even say that it had great value. Value is not a word often associated with this level of fine dining. However, we have spent twice what we did at other restaurants of high caliber and not enjoyed it nearly as much as our exceptional evening at The Bull & Bear.
Best steak in Florida! Service was awesome, great wine list.
Special night with wife
We booked Bull and Bear for a special birthday treat on the last evening of our Orlando stay. It didn’t disappoint! Food was exceptional as was the service and very theatrical!!
We would love to go back!
Wonderful service and great ambiance.
Some of the best food and service I’ve received since Windows on the World! Bravo!!
Service was terrible, food took an hour and a half! Servers didn’t communicate. Best filet mignon though lol.
This was an incredibly special occasion for us, and it turned into even more of one, wherein my boyfriend asked me to marry him! Service was great, dinner was lovely....then the check came. Thats where my heart fell, as the wine (Joseph Phelps) we chose (thinking it was a fabulous deal at $125) turned out to be $125/glass. That was not made clear or mentioned at all other the waiter explaining it after the fact. We would have never chosen that as a $450 bottle had we known, and I was disheartened that the waiter didn't show more compassion or empathy when we asked about it.
So, though the night was lovely, as all our evenings are, we're left with a bad taste in our mouths through this experience. As a single mother myself, special occasions are very special, and last night began as my treat to my loving boyfriend. However, it ended with me being embarrassed and feeling so bad, because our bill totaled almost $800 with tip (it was just the two of us). My now fiance was a gem and tried to make me feel better, but ultimately, my heart remains saddened by this.
I work in Customer Service for a Fortune 100 company, and while money is not the issue, doing the right thing is, and I did not feel the right thing was done last night.
I'm sorry to have to mention this, as I looked forward to sharing a teaching review here, but I must be honest and share this instead.
Should a manager wish to call about this, my phone number is 863-258-7725. My name is Amanda, and my fiance's name is Jim Cossin. I'd look forward to a call of kindness, as we'd truly love to have a better feeling about how this was handled and move forward to dine with you in the future, as this was the site of an incredible moment sans the ending.
5-star experience made my night the best it could it be
My husband and I dined here on a Sunday night for a wedding anniversary. Absolutely top notch service and food, a truly memorable experience. Cannot wait to come back! Special shout out to Gustavo, Scott and Javier who took amazing care of us. Thank you!
The service was outstaning and the sommalier was amazing.
Went with friends after a conference at the hotel. The staff were very friendly and attentive, the atmosphere pretty and food very good for a hotel restaurant.
Their lemon dessert was really remarkable!
Service was outstanding and that was the big win. We had about 4 people checking on us at all times but it was not intrusive. We had the Escargot Gnocchi Which was pretty fantastic. The cream sauce was unbelievable, it’s a must have. We also got a lobster bisque which was very good. It’s the dark creamy variety which sometimes can taste heavier of stock, but this was right on and all you got was creamy lobster. For the main course we did the Tomahawk for two. The steak was solid, I’m not sure it hit us as exceptional. Sides were the creamed corn(very good and balanced the steak), with the fries(solid but we’ve had better). Dessert we had the chocolate bar which was really good. All in all a solid dinner, service was great and we enjoyed ourselves. The one miss was the bottle of wine we ordered they did not have so they substituted. Not a big deal in the long run. Go and enjoy. Thanks.
We love this amazing restaurant ... it is a favorite one
In Orlando ... we go often and when we are celebrating a special is a must ... you can always count on a great evening..
One of the best places I’ve eaten at. Allen and the servers were very nice and attentive. Will definitely go back...
The service takes 5 star service to another level; a team of for works with your table and a few others. Most food is prepared table side (cooked in Kitchen). The food; appetizers to dessert were great.
Perfect spot for Valentines and Anniversary celebration.
Best steak and fries I’ve ever had. Impeccable, personalized service. Great, relaxed, intimate atmosphere. I’m coming back ASAP.
Excellent service , excellent food I would have given them outstanding for the food but I felt the fries were salty and the small filet 5oz was chewy from all edges this is the kids portion , though the filet the 8oz was outstanding , every order was for sure outstanding, portions are very generous we shared the salad and soup , make sure to order the strawberry short cake dessert it’s amazing and presentation is wow , it’s worth every penny you spent there
It was my wife's 60th birthday dinner and we could not have picked a better venue. The staff was attentive, personal, and efficient. The food was incredible with an amazing variety of offerings from seafood to fine steaks. We enjoyed a relaxing and enjoyable dinning experience. We were not rushed from the beginning to the end...we could actually visit with each other and enjoy the courses as they came. I would highly recommend the Bull & Bear as a must try dinning experience.
it was Amazing!
Typically dark American dining room though roomy with a good outlook. Great service but food overpriced for good quality ingredients but nothing special in terms of cooking. $25 for a bowl of soup and $10 a drop (seriously) for balsamic vinegar gives an idea of prices. Would be so much better if it served smaller portion sizes (who really wants to eat 1lb or more of steak?) and more imaginative dishes.
It takes three days to make their fried chicken. The crust is a show stopper, and I challenge you to find a more tender chicken, as they keep the thigh and breast together to keep the meat moist throughout, when fried. The potatoes were so good I spent three hours yesterday trying to figure them out. I could have lived without the foie gras gravy, as it had a bit too much going on to clearly identify either foie gras or brown gravy. The fifteen dollar fries were interesting, but not really worth the price. Overall, we'll definitely be back for the service.
Great experience, food and service. Would highly recommend.
