We sat outside due to Covid but we are trying to support our favorite restaurants at this time so we were prepared. There were ample heat lamps and it felt well distanced.
I got the Smoked Beet Reuben and hot damn, it was delicious. My bf had the shaved ham and biscuits and they were also really good. I have been less than pleased with some of the other dining experiences we’ve had at other establishments during Covid but Bud &Marilyns have remained top notch with food and service.
We will be back.
I liked it!
Always a pleasure to dine at Bud & Marilyn’s. Great down-home cuisine with great staff. Outdoor dining only but safe and plentiful.
It was alright, not great but not bad. The drinks were served in small PLASTIC cups, the brisket was tender which was good but needed seasoning. My son had the Nashville chicken sandwich which he said was good, and the banana pudding which he enjoyed.
Has the absolute best time here! The drinks were nice and strong and the food was delicious!
I've been to Bud & Marilyn's many times over the years and was always very happy with it until this visit. The Staff was rude and nasty. They seemed annoyed that they had to deal with customers! Not just myself, but other customers as well. Our waiter was so completely annoyed he stormed off from our table carrying our drinks because we questioned the TINY size portion? We did not ask him to take it away, he just grabbed them and stormed off. So we got up and left.
In a time when restaurants are struggling to stay alive, having employees like this is a complete disaster. I understand people are stressed and working for a lot less money. If I choose to eat out I make sure I tip VERY well, 30% typically, and in cash. Horrible experience.
It wasn't just my waiter. The Hostess was also annoyed and nasty. All I did was ask if I could be seated inside, which was a no, as we were a party of 3. Explaining that to me does not require a sh*t tone and B*tch Face that can be seen through your mask, (rolling her eyes and visibly huffing and puffing)
In the past the food and drinks were always excellent, and the staff was very pleasant.
I'll try again in the future, if they survive.
Food was delicious and quick service too!
Very nice and intimate restaurant. Husband and I ordered the crispy cheese curds which were so tasty! It came with scallion ranch dressing which I thought was good but my husband wished it came with marinara sauce. We also ordered the shrimp po boy hot bun to try it was so good we decided to order 5 more! The po boy is small think tapa style but delicious! Happy hour is from 4 pm- 6 pm and included drinks and dinner menu items for a very reasonable price.
Dinner was great and our server was. Phenomenal
The Biscuits. The Chicken. The Crabfries. The Funetti Cake. You can't lose.
Wonderful brunch - menu choices were excellent and so were the drink options. Sitting outside and served by someone in a mask who was helpful and brought us everything we needed. A great experience.
Ate outside in the morning DELICIOUS food and great service!
Awesome food, drinks & service!! Loved it! We will 1000% return.
We miss dining with you all and we were so happy to get a spot outside. The scallops were to die for and everything else was delish!!!
Food is always wonderful. Service is top notch. In this COVID era, they follow every possible safety practice and it’s very safe to dine here. Impressive and always excellent. Highly recommended, one of our consistent favorites for years.
Nashville Hot Buns FTW! Went here for a date and we sat outside looking out on Locust street and had a great time. Good food, good service. Would do again.
The crab fries was delicious as usual its a must have when you visit i get it every single time & it goes with with the drink frose but now that covid is over its somewhat of a rip off $10 for a wine glass that isnt even half way filled with is weird i prefered getting fooled with the plastic cups they used during covid haha looked way better but i would say the Marilyns Fried Chicken menu item is way over priced & it doesnt even come with side s and the pieces of chicken are very tiny the breast and wing were still connect and the leg was another piece but it wasnt dry very crispy skin but not worth $22 for 3 pieces of fried chicken and a choking hazard biscuit with some thyme on top
There was no one in the restaurant when we came and most of the duration we were there. But for the oddest reason, our food (2 fried chx sandwich) took FOREVER to come. Im talking like at least 45-50 mins. i was underwhelmed with the food to be honest, it just tasted dry and there was no ranch on it as it was stated on the menu. Then after we ate, our server (forget his name) just kept badgering us with the check. We clearly weren't ready because we were still ordering drinks and again our food took forever so don't try to rush us out now! idk it was just weird and rude. This was my first time there too so I was excited to try it out but I can't say I'd go back.
This is the first time I went for brunch. Loved everything we ordered and our server Harry was very good
It was really cold outside and we had to get multiple people involved to get the heating lamp working. Once that worked at least half of our table felt warm. I would definitely prioritize the heat so customers are comfortable.
Brunch was average. Cinnamon buns were the best part. Both entrees were mostly filler with bread and potatoes and not hot.
Great brunch! Fun, themed drinks and the food was delicious. Great atmosphere.
Food was delicious. We were there for brunch and started with the cinnamon buns (yum). We also ordered the chicken and waffles and the Brisket Hash. All very tasty, served hot and fresh. Highly recommend!
Great experience, loved the atmosphere!! Only cons are that it was a little rushed, though service was delayed at times. It was also more on the expensive side (at $10 a mimosa- the bill quickly adds up). Overall, would recommend and most likely return.
I enjoyed a Sunday brunch with friends at one of their outside tables. The food was absolutely AMAZING, and the service was friendly and attentive. I would definitely recommend their Sunday brunch!
The guest I sent over had a wonderful experience and really loved the environment and food
Incredible service. It was very chilly, but food was amazing as expected.
The service was great, and the food was just as great! Definitely would go again!
We really enjoyed this restaurant! The food and drinks were very good and the ambiance was great! Our only complaint was we wished they had a large food selection.
Whole experience was AMAZING! Food was great, drinks were made perfectly and ambiance was superb. Definitely coming back!
The food was very good and the drinks were excellent!
Fantastic food and very friendly, competent staff. Our server was very friendly and service was prompt.
Enjoyed everything the 3 course meal for $29 was great value. Perfect portion size on all 3 courses and the old fashion and radio days cocktails were tasty. Server was attentive and friendly.
I only docked to a 4 because it took a while to get a refill on water and a mimosa and I asked two separate people. But the food, drinks, and ambience was great! I’ll definitely go back.
Excellent food, great ambiance, fantastic service!! Highly recommend
The cheese curds are the best we ever had and my husband is from Wisconsin so he is super picky. All of the food is phenomenal, we have never had a bad meal here!
Terrible service, but amazing food!!!
Everything was phenomenal. This was the best meal we had in Philly. The drinks were great and the short rib pasta was to die for. We got the funfetti cake and it was enormous and delicious. Would recommend!
Came here for brunch last week. The service was fast and professional, as always. The food was delicious. Everything tasted fresh and the portions were just the right size. The restaurant is doing a good job keeping customers apart, even inside, and we felt very safe eating inside.
The food was really good. They did a good job with outdoor seating but it is on a busy street so be prepare for a good level of vehicular noise. 1 "plastic cup" of mimosa was $10. That was a bit disappointing. But I would definitely be going back.
