Bud & Marilyn's
The service and dinner was wonderful.
Service was sub par. Food came out slowly and the wait staff did not show interest in our table.
A lovely restaurant week menu! Lots of options especially for dietary needs(vegetarian and lactose intolerant)
The cheese curds were delicious, as other reviews have mentioned. We had a beautiful table by the window which helped with the noise, and the red beet citrus salad was so packed with flavor, I was very impressed. The fried chicken bucket had a LOT of fries, which were pretty good but not fantastic. Courteous waitstaff.
1st time dining here. Had heard good things. Just stopped in for a quick brunch with my bestie. Place was smaller than I thought, so you can imagine that Sunday brunch was a popular time. All of the dishes passing by my table looked phenomenal and definitely had me wanting to plan another visit to try other items. Today, however, I settled on the Nashville Hot Chicken Biscuit with fries (could have had a salad but hey, I wanted all the fatness today). I also added their cheddar bacon sausage patty. The star of this meal was the sausage patty. It was juicy with a little spicy kick. The biscuit was also good. Thick enough to withstand the weight of the breaded chicken breast and slaw, but not dry. The fries were a tad too salty, but we're golden brown and crispy. I only wished there was more of a seasoning on the chicken breast. Maybe the slaw, pickles and ranch sauce were supposed to make up for the lack of taste with the chicken, but I think a little seasoning would have taken this sandwich over the top. I definitely recommend, make sure to make a reservation if you go for brunch. Can't wait to explore the rest of the menu. Oh, and if you are an eggs and meat person, might I suggest the Ohio Truck Stop dish. Eggs, bacon, hasbrowns, ham, that delicious cheddar bacon sausage, and brioche toast. Yum!
Fantastic Sunday brunch spot- every dish was on point! Atmosphere was fun and energetic without being too loud. We ordered the Pecan Cinnamon Bun and Yogurt to share and then each ordered our own meals. The Shakshukah was incredible!
The fried chicken was amaze. Cheese curbs were good. And the buttermilk biscuit was incredible !! Great spot
The meal was very creative, well prepared and delicious, with friendly and knowledgeable servers. We will definitely go back and recommend to friends. We just thought the wine pours were a little stingy and would like a greater number of selections that are not hot/spicy.
Went for restaurant week. Worth it! The food and drinks were amazing. Definitely will be going back!
I would tell a fiend brunch was good but I am not sure about evening dining. Barbara
I always love the cheese curds. The waitstaff was great and very attentive at all the right times. Just an overall pleasant experience.
Amazing service, creative menu, I took every suggesting from our server and was so pleased- we will return!
Great food. Staff was super friendly and accommodating. The food was amazing! Fried chicken was better than home made. The portions were large, not like other CC restaurants. Would def recommend and return!
Visited Bud & Marilyn’s for Philadelphia Restaurant Week. B&M did not disappoint. Great menu selection for the $35.00 prix fixe, no culinary shortcuts. Knowledgeable service and prime seating by the window—what’s not to like? Will definitely visit in the future.
My husband and I visited this restaurant during Restaurant week and thus, would likely not have visited otherwise. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and service. I had short ribs and my husband ordered the meatloaf. Both entrees were well seasoned, nicely presented, and appropriately priced. We chose the wine pairing menu which completed our meal. Although noisy, we could still have a conversation. Our waiter was attentive, contributing to our enjoyable dining experience.
Creative and delicious menu modified seasonally. Favorite is the liver mousse. Have had most of the entrees and all are vary flavorful.
The food was absolutely amazing. It was restaurant week and we weren’t expecting the serving sizes to be as big as they were. Great time with friends.
I have been at Bud and Marilyn's at Philadelphia International Airport but had never experienced the fried chicken! It was great! Love the food!!
I had dinner here during Restaurant Week. It was crowded and very noisy, but the service was excellent. The food was very good. I'll have to go back during a normal week.
Dinner for 4 for Restaurant Week. Tremendous value. The menu had a wide variety of choices, and the food was delicious. Service was friendly and prompt. Very noisy, but we could still hear each other ... barely. An excellent restaurant.
Went during restaurant week and will definitely go back. Had the butternut squash and coconut milk soup (delicious), the pork chop with cheddar grits (best pork chop I've ever had) and the blood orange sorbet (seemed more like a summer dessert but I don't like bread pudding). The service was prompt and friendly. Staff, other than our waitress, stopped by to see if we needed anything and to clear the table. My only complaint was that we were seated near the door and you could feel the cold breeze wherever it opened. Overall, very happy and can't wait to try it again!
The music playlist is the bomb!!! And thanks for making sure I was never out of ginger ale.
It was wonderful!
First time there and everything was wonderful - will definitely make an effort to get back there. Our server, David B, added to the experience. He was personable, knowledgeable and helpful.
I love restaurant week with that being said it gives me the opportunity to try new and different places and Bud and Marilyn was one of them. Everything was great from beginning to end. The Nashville hots are my favorite along with the cabbage and apple salad. I will be going back again very very soon !
Continues to be my favorite restaurant for a pre-performance dinner. Relaxed atmosphere, great food and outstanding service.
We had a great dining experience at the restaurant. Server was attentive and meal was delivered quick but didn’t feel rushed.
Service and good were great. Our bill was high due to liquor, they get you everytime!!! Actually our bill was high because the gratuity had been added in and the waitress didn't tell us that was the policy for tables of 5 or more. Not knowing that we left a tip and the waitress never said anything, not even thank you. How rude, they lost 5 future customers.
As usual, B&M food was good. But our server, Harry, made everything seem special
Restaurant week for lunch.
First time there and it was very nice. Service was fantastic.
The fried chicken was superb and this was a wonderful treat.
First visit ...fabulous food & service can’t wait 2 explore another Turney & Safran Venture!!!!
Incredibly loud, incredibly slow service (though the food was quite good)
Delicious, creative, fun! A great morning out. Varied menus.
Great food and service.
This was an amazing brunch spot!! We arrived a bit before our reservation and with a line out the door, we were hesitant. Our hostess welcomed us and sat us promptly! Absolutely the best service!
Our server was wonderful & attentive (Harry). The food was simply delicious and perfectly prepared!! Amazing menu choices! Loved the menu and had many options to pick from! Drinks...👍🏼.
The decor in restaurant is awesomely vintage!! The bookshelf by restrooms with true vintage items was a surprise that we were thrilled to see! Can’t wait to return!!
Always good at Bud & Marilyns! Arrived early for our reservation and were immediately sat, despite the busy restaurant. We had the cheese board, Cobb salad, stroganoff, and chocolate peanut butter cake- all were excellent. I’ve been here a million times, but brought an out of town friend for the first time and she loved it too!
I would make sure and let them know that the menu is more extensive during lunch. Dinner menu ala carte. Can't use full amount on gift cards, they want to use a portion for tips. It was an experience. Would go again, but would try lunch time.
