Buckheads - Richmond
Buckheads lived up to its reputation for great steaks and great service. We had a very fun evening with friends here.
Simply stared: the best steak in the RVA. Our favorite “special occasion” restaurant.
We really enjoyed chatting with our server, Ryan. A very professional waiter!
Superb food, probably the best steak in Richmond. Enough variety on the menu to satisfy, good service and customer attention.
My husband and I took my mom and two sisters to dinner while we were visiting them in Richmond. I received the round table in the back room just as I requested. We ordered two bottles of hard to find wines from the extensive wine list which is very reasonably priced. My mom ordered the salmon and the rest of us had the 8 oz filet. All were pleased with the quality and amount of food including the starter salad which is included with every entree. I received a complimentary creme brûlée as my birthday dessert which I shared with everyone. David provided outstanding service throughout the evening. Highly recommended!
Always a special meal with my wife, food and ambience are always great.
Always a pleasure to dine in this wonderful restaurant with such a capable wait staff and attentiveness to details.
Birthday and dinner with friends.
The service was efficient but understated and the food and wine were perfection. It was a very nice dining experience.
Meal was quite good. My wife particularly enjoyed the halibut fish special. My friend and I found the escargot sauce bland but the steaks were good. Would recommend that you display a menu option of 8 oz filet steak fromage but the waiter and chef were accommodating. We'll likely keep Buckheads on our list of options for our monthly fine dining night out. Price may be slightly on the high end.
Service seemed a bit slow this evening. Perhaps due to a private event taking place in another room.
Best steakhouse in RVA.
Ask for Greg, a true professional in the restaurant industry.
I never write reviews on anything....BUT
We came in to celebrate a special day with Buckhead’s...our server was very friendly and kind. 10/10 will return
This was our first time eating here but we loved it!
If i had to give one complaint....I wish the shrimp cocktail was more sufficient. Just because we LOVE that classic preparation. Next time we know what to expect, maybe we’ll just get two :)
Wonderful place for a special occasion! The food was very good and the service was excellent! The waiter surprised us with a free dessert for our anniversary.
One of our favorite restaurants in Richmond. As good as it gets!
This was our second time dining at Buckheads and it was great. We will definitely be going back.
Always a hit; never disappoints. Best for special occasions; otherwise we'd be spoiled
The experience was mediocre.
Our entree arrived 90 minutes after we sat down. We did order an appetizer and had our salad prior to the 90 mins but the wait between courses was painful. Our waiter was very attentive and kept us informed. We were told that they had two big parties and the kitchen was backed up. This happened the last time we came, which is an annual birthday event for my husband. Sorry, no excuse!
The French onion soup was divine, the salad was a nice portion. My husband’s steak was perfect, and he is a harsh critic. My rockfish was okay. The lobster sauce was a disappointment. My take, do with out the sauce and lower the cost. The sauce was not a cream sauce as I expected, more of a clear broth. The chunks of lobster were over cooked, chewy and tasteless. Prior to realizing it was lobster in the sauce, I couldn’t even figure out what I was eating. I was told the potatos were roasted new potatoes but they were really itty bitty pea sized potatoes. Had I known, I would have chosen the baked potato. The waiter said he doesn’t use the real name, pea potato, because it sounds funny. The wine was excellent.
The food was excellent. We both had the 8 oz filet which were cooked perfectly and melted in your mouth. The service was very professional. I like the fact that the meal comes with a salad and sides - no extras to order.
Food was very good. We both opted for the Caesar salad and the petite filet mignon. Both repeated the way we requested, and it was fork tender. The green beans and portobello appetizer was very tasty, as well. Great evening for a birthday celebration ending with creme brûlée. Highly recommend Buckheads, and our waiter Gene was tops!
Not a better steak house in Richmond. Never had a bad meal here and the service has always been excellent. They also do not nickel and dime you with having to order everything a la carte- salad and potato come as part of your meal.
Appetizer and steaks were excellent, potatoes and veggie were served too cool and without flavor, bread was tasteless. Mixed drinks are expensive and not good, ordered a mojito, received a gin and tonic with mint! For a $250 meal for 3, I expected better.
great food with wonderful service. they make awesome drinks.
Excellent steak and veggies properly cooked.
Super pleasant server
Pricey but worth it
They have the best steaks and seafood ever. We always go there for family birthday events. Love it!
It’s Buckhead’s, so it was a delicious dinner with outstanding service.
Excellent and very attentive service. Food was excellent.
This place is amazing. Best Steak in Richmond! Everything is top notch and quality!
Outstanding service including pre-arrival call from front suggesting we arrive 15 minutes early because a large party was booked at the same time as our 4 top.
Food was excellent, wine list had great selection and waiter was perfectly attentive. Not too much, not too little, just right for business dinner
Hadnt been in a year, remembered it being better. Good steak cooked perfect med rare, but not great. I'll go back unless they read this and tell me to stay away. Mojito was very average, but that was the only mix that I tried.
Such a Richmond treasure. The steaks are fabulous. And it’s such a better value than Ruth’s Chris.
This was our fourth visit to Buckheads and once again it was great. Our steaks were done perfectly and the rest of the meal was great too.
I ordered the bone in ribeye medium. It was Cooked excellently. Mashed potatoes were excellent as well as the greens. Our server neglected to ask if we were celebrating anything special, (It was my wife’s birthday). We overheard another serving asking his table that question and found out we should have been offered a free dessert. Despite that we enjoyed ourselves.
Atmosphere was great. The food was delicious. I would strongly recommend going there.
Steak was not up to par for the 1st time ever. Server did not know we had been seated for over 10 minutes after we arrived. Presented w/ the check for the booth next to us instead of ours..luckily caught it as it was $100 more than our bill. Not certain what was/is going on but we were marginally disappointed. Did not say anything about the steak as that is not our style. Been going a couple of times every year and this was a 1st.
This was our second visit to Buckhead’s and Greg was our server again. He provided outstanding service. He is attentive without being obtrusive. The food, cocktails and wine were excellent. Great place for celebrating a special occasion.
From start to finish, an amazing dining experience.
We have always enjoyed our dinner experience. The service is very informed, attentive, and helpful. The filet is perfectly prepared, the potatoes are always well prepared and the vegetables are vey good. The blue cheese dressing is noticeably prepared by the chief.
Gee was an excellent server and the food was delicious! We enjoyed our anniversary dinner on Sunday.
