Good food, good service, nice presentation. For the money, there are better nearby restaurants.
This restaurant was one of the best we've been to! Great food, beautiful ocean views, and a great server! We look forward to returning to Brown's Beach House the next time we are in Hawaii!!
We always visit Brown’s Beach House when on The Big Isle! Exceptional!
Excellent! Went for birthday. Cannot go wrong here
Browns was by far our best meal in Kauai. The location is spectacular at sunset. We both had the three course tasting menu with the wine pairing. The wine pours were ample. The food was excellent. 5 stars all around.
Our dining experience was superb from start to finish. Our server Jasmine was always present when needed and never interfering. She was always pleasant, professional and a joy. This is not our first time to Brown’s and it will not be our last. It is a must for each of our trips to the big Island.
We ate here twice during our stay. Food was excellent and staff was very professional and accommodating. The views are beautiful and romantic.
The best beautiful sunset.
It was a bit expensive, but I had a special experience.
Beach front dining.... fresh well prepared food.
Our waiter was extremely friendly & knowledgeable
about the menu. Great time
Celebrating getting into Grad school
We didn’t get to sit outside because of the rain storm so the restaurant squeezed everyone under the covered area. It was cozy but nice and the food was delicious. Looking forward to dining here again on a clear and drier evening.
It was a fantastic meal. Our waitress was amazing and when it started to rain early on in our meal, they moved everyone inside and it was perfectly fine. Everyone just made it work. Well done
Great food and setting
Great restaurant in an amazing setting. We did the 3 course menu which was great. I loved the music during dinner............aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Service was amazing, thanks Sam.
Food and wine also excellent. Our 2nd time, we'll definitely be back.
Beautiful view, delicious food and gracious service.
My husband and I had a quiet meal at Brown's for our first time. He ordered the three course meal which came with dessert and I ordered the lobster. My husband's meal, from what he let me taste, was wonderful, however my lobster was still half cold and chewy and not at all what I would have expected from a 60 dollar plate. He told me to send it back, but I didn't and in hindsight I should have. The dessert that was promised was then said to be out of when time to have, as these things happen, but was disappointing. The wait staff was excellent and attentive, the atmosphere was quiet and relaxed. Could have been better, could have been worse. Though I doubt I will ever be given the opportunity to dine at Brown's again, if I did I am not sure I would dine there. Too expensive for a meal that was only so, so but like I said my husbands stated his was tasty, but expensive.
Ambiance is everything here.
Great exsperience from start to finish. We had a great table overlooking the shoreline. The waiter was profesional, nice and knowledgeable. Food and drinks were amazing. The solo live music was a great touch. Would definitely return.
Anniversary. As usual, it was wonderful. In spite of the wind, we had a great meal with great service. The location is spectacular and the sights are beautiful.
Wonderful sunset started off our family dinner, a memorable evening indeed.
A fabulous last night on the big island! We couldn't have asked for better food or a better setting!
Brown's is the best restaurant we have been to on the Big Island. Admittedly, the visuals are stunning, but the quality of food and service is a match for the physical beauty of this outdoor restaurant. Sunset here is not to be missed.
Beautiful setting, very good food. Was turned off a bit when the busboys started stripping tables near us while we were eating, especially since there were other people dining and it was before closing. Chef was very nice and we enjoyed chatting with her about the meal.
The sunset views were spectacular. The musician was quite good, and a number of people danced. As for the food, it was excellent. I started with the roasted garlic and cilantro prawns, which included bits of onion and tomatoes. The dish was very tasty and came with crostini. For my entree, I selected the Ka’u coffee venison. It was served with a tamarind sauce and lots of carrots. The venison itself was delicious and very tender. The carrots and carrot purée did not add much to the dish. For dessert, I had the Itakuja chocolate dome. It was served with a carmelized cacao nib and lilikoi (I.e., passion fruit) sorbet. The textures and flavors worked extremely well together. The bread selection for the evening was nice. Anne was my server, and she was very attentive and personable.
Service was excellent, view was perfect, food was delicious, entertainment was excellent- great experience! Would definitely come back.
Excellent food with an awesome sunset!! They also had live music.
Great view of the beaches but a bit of a track to get there staff were fantastic
Beautiful beach location, attentive staff gave excellent service, delicious meal. A little pricey
The food was delicious. We ate filet mignon and kampachi fish; however, for the price, the portion sizes seemed to be on the small side, especially when compared Roy's. Desert was spectacular: Itakuja chocolate dome and pineapple creme brulee!
This is one of our favorite restaurants in the Islands. The people are warm and gracious, the setting is gorgeous (especially at sunset!) and the food is consistently excellent. We especially loved the different kinds of bread, the grilled kampachi, the venison and all of the desserts. Nice wine choices too. We hope to return many times!
If you want an upscale, outdoors Hawaiian dining experience I don't think you can beat this. The setting is like a postcard. The service matches the quality of the setting. It is not inexpensive but not exorbitant either. This was second time we were there and if in the area again we'd go back in a heartbeat.
It was a little windy last night so we sat right inside the shelter. The meal was expensive but everything we had was excellent. The service was good. We will definitely go back again.
Great dinner with excellent service. All entree’s were terrific. 3 of us had the Ono special, one had the lamb chops. All entries were great. Christian, our waiter was friendly, knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. I would highly recommend Brown’s
Birthday dinner for my husband
We went here for our 10 year anniversary celebration and it was outstanding! The ambiance, the server, the music, the food and the sunset all made for a perfectly romantic evening. Highly recommend this for a special evening!!
There was a party going on in the lawn area with loud music that ruined the atmosphere a bit. We should have chosen a different entre - the locally farmed white fish was dense and heavy and had an odd flavor, and the presentation was not at all elegant. Beet salad was lovely and looked very pleasing. Good wine list with nice choices. As with all higher end Hawaii restaurants, it is very pricey for what you get but there are not many fine dining options to choose from. So it is better than some, but could use a bit more focus to produce truly fine dining.
Great steak,clams and lobster
Excellent food and excellent location. Beautiful music and sounds of the waves crashing.
View was incredible. Service was impeccable. The food was delicious and beautifully prepared
