Hadn’t been there since Covid. Was pleased with their process. Food was excellent. Server friendly and efficient. Only negus the reservation system offers “outside seating”. Sitting at a picnic table far from the restaurant wasn’t attractive at all to us so we went inside. Get a tent.
We went for the Coolinary Encore brunch and let me telll you, WHAT A DEAL!
2 courses AND bottomless mimosas for $32.
We tried everything on the Coolinary brunch (except the salad), and it was all delicious. The brunch burger was a crowd favorite , and the bananacotta was a surprising star on our brunch table as well.
Glad to see life getting back to 'normal' little by little around the city! I would recommend this restaurant to others and plan to return again soon myself. :)
Delicious as always, and great service.
We miss the Rusty Door! :-)
We love Brown Butter!
Great friendly service. It’s in a strip shopping center which pretty much describes the ambiance when you consider that is a bar also.
The food is great.
We had the fish dip was different and very tasty.
The pimento cheese hamburger was almost perfect and at a fair price. The garlic potatoes seemed ok but I don’t like garlic fries.
I got the fish special which was trout, roasted cauliflower over a buttery sauce cooked to perfection.
My wife got the brisket Mack and cheese. The brisket was a bit chewy and had a good flavor. The greens and Mac and cheese were delicious but the meat was generous but disappointing.
The sandwich and burger park of the menu has prices commensurate with the location.
The appetizers while uncommon for the location were a bit pricey but they were good.
The entree section had Hugh restaurant prices and were presented well...but it’s a stretch to charge $20 plus in a strip center in a bar.
It’s been closed for a while and yet to get to the bathroom you had to navigate old wooden windows piles up against the wall and other “stuff” which was off putting.
The service was top notch. The guy was friendly, attentive, informative and anticipated your every move.
I’m not sure if this place is a bar wanting to be a high restaurant or the other way around.
There’s talent in the kitchen I just it needs to be in a better location.
So glad this place opened back up. Have never been disappointed with this place. Only negative...wish they would bring back the burger and beer special. Even if it’s slightly more. Loved having a burger and a couple beers.
Place has probably the best burger in the city. Change my mind
Excellent service! Thank you for everything! We’ll definitely be back to check out more of your amazing menu!
Great brunch spot uptown! Food was great and the environment low key
All aspects of our dining experience was excellent!!
The ribs were very dry. Brisket sandwich was ok. Mac and cheese side wasn't good.
Excellent food and service. Crab Mac and cheese was fab!!
Loved it the food and staff were very nice
Ticket time was a bit long and after we finished eating we had to signal the server after about ten minutes so we could Pay the bill. We would go back again.
Mardi Gras with 7 students from Tulane
We had a phenomenal gastronomic experience! From the smoked Prime Rib, to the 1/2 rack smoky baby backs, the mussels ambiance is perfect for that location and menu. Very comfortable and relaxed!
Went for brunch. Excellent menu, difficult to choose what to order because everything is delicious!
Superb!! Service, food, and ambiance!!
Great service and great foof
Delicious food! The crab Mac and cheese is a MUST
I’ve driven past Brown Butter for years and never really thought much about it. The rule of thumb in Nola is poor restaurants rarely last long so we finally decided to try it. The atmosphere was very laid back with nice dim lighting and a low noise level which I appreciate. From the mussel appetizer to our entrees of sheepshead and a Korean beef bowl we enjoyed complex flavors and impeccable presentation. Our waitress was very attentive without crossing the line of bothering us to excess. All in all it was great and we are looking forward to trying different items on the menu in the near future.
The mushroom/pork ragout was great. Pork belly dish was solid as well.
Excellent food, great service. We will definitely return.
Went for brunch, the poutine and eggs was fabulous, the others got bread pudding french toast and devored it all, said it was excellent as well.
We went late on a Friday night and there was only 1 other occupied table. After we were there a while, a group showed up. But, overall, it was quiet. There was nice R&B music playing in the background. Our waiter was very friendly, knowledgeable & attentive. The food was good. Drinks were good. I would go back.
Went for Sunday brunch just coming into town - food was incredible - service was great - definitely recommend reservations bc they were packed out with 20-30 minutes of opening
The Brussel Sprouts appetizers was excellent, as was the Wedge Salad and the steak main course.
Wonderful place for brunch
Everything was very good except for the service. We didn't get our salads until
35 minutes after ordering and only then by reminding the waiter who seemed
annoyed that we mentioned it to him. Also, there was a mix-up with the entrees,
one of which came shortly after the salad was served before the salad could
even be half-eaten. However, the food was excellent.
Hey William, Thanks so much for taking a moment to leave us some feedback via Open Table. I am so sorry to hear about the lapse in service and the time it took to get your food to you last Saturday evening. I’d love an opportunity to make things right for you. Please reach out so we can facilitate this, and so that I can get a little more information. Thanks, Simon Beck Owner Brown Butter (504)390-1577
Solid place. Great outing with kids
This is our pregame stop. Never disappointed. I love the breakfast bowl and my husband has the Eggs Benny.
Best place I have eaten in New Orleans so far! We went for. We Years Eve where they had a special menu. I had the NY Strip and my boyfriend had the duck. The Strip y’all.... it was so good! There was great flavoring as well as added sauces and grapes, yes, I said grapes, that made it one of the best steaks I’ve had in a long time. I would recommend this to anyone and I feel it doesn’t get suggested enough!
The food was ok but the waiter said they were short staffed and behind on reservations. The meat and cheese board had no cheese on it. The pasta was flavorless and they ran out of coke before we got there and told us that we could have not have dessert because the kitchen was closed even though our reservations were for 8:15 and it was 8:45.
Great place to eat! I made reservations but recoceré to eat at the bar. It turned out to be the best choice. The restaurant was understaffed, but everyone remained calm and poised and handled patrons graciously. Food was great too! We orders Poutine, Hot Honey Wings, and the TN chicken sandwich. Everything was so good! Highly recommend.
The food was delicious! I would definitely recommend the Rusty Screen Door Benny
Brown Butter Southern Kitchen and Bar is so tasty that we went there twice. I would highly recommend the Pan Fried Mac. The service is impeccable and the servers are friendly and kind. I am surprised that every table is not filled at this place because the food is truly fantastic. If I ever make a visit to New Orleans again, I will definitely be making a return trip to Brown Butter.
I eat here a few times a month love it.
This is one of our favorites in the neighborhood, it remains consistent on all points. We introduce it to friends every chance we get.
Tried the new poutine & eggs entree from their new brunch menu. Excellent! Meaty with short rib pieces cooked to falling apart consistensity, with plenty of crisp french fries, melty cheese curds and it came with two eggs, I got them scrambled, but the cook will make them any way you want. Truly a dish that I will come back for.
Really hidden gem...the Brussels sprouts starter is amazing ...all of the food we tried was very good well done
SOOO DELICIOUS. Not sure why it’s taken me a year and a half to come here but it surpassed my expectations. The service was amazing from the second we walked in to the moment we left. The fried pickles were so thin and perfectly fried. The chicken sandwich with greens was a combination I never knew I needed in my life and omg the fries with that aioli!! As if my gut wasn’t already exploding, we really pushed things to the limit with that creme brûlée🤤 such a great meal. Thank you!
