Yum as usual! ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
We brought our Dad to Bristol’s for his 88th birthday and everyone was so accommodating. My Dad is a bit frail and all of the wait staff were very helpful in seating him and finding a table that was quiet given he is hard of hearing. We ordered the lobster bisque and crab cakes as appetizers. Both were outstanding. Bristol’s is the only restaurant in St. Louis (that I’m aware of) that has more crab than ‘cake’ in their crab cakes. They are delicious! The lobster bisque was equally yummy - creamy, rich and with a nice hint of sherry. For our entrees most people ordered the seafood grille which is a plate with a little bit of all the best Bristol’s has to offer. They all agreed it was a marvelous choice. Our Dad ordered the salmon, mashed potatoes and risotto. He liked everything but really seemed to enjoy the asparagus risotto. He is a finicky and ‘sparse’ eater so it was nice to see him eat so much and ENJOY it. For desert we brought a giant chocolate cookie and Bristol’s was kind enough to gift us a couple bowls of ice cream as a happy birthday treat. Quality service, food and experience throughout our
We are repeat customers. The food is always delicious. Once again, we weren’t disappointed.
The food seemed overdone this trip. We both noticed the chicken (fried wingettes ) as almost black. They were very, very crispy. The shrimp enchiladas were too done. The pecan pie was gone before I was ready to have a dessert. Without having a coupon, I don't think we'll frequent Sunday brunch much. There's no new thing put out. Same stuff, higher pricing.
Went there for anniversary. Probably sat at the worst table in restaurant by cook station and access to adjacent room. I guess someone had to sit there, but if I was led to sit there in the future I would decline. I thought food was good. We forget about Bristols when thinking of place to eat even though it is essentially in our backyard. New empty nesters and rarely went there with the kids in the past.
The gentleman that seated us became rude when we had a problem with choosing a table. Whatever the situation is it is not appropriate to make a patron feel uncomfortable. We have been coming to Bristol’s since it opened and this is the first time that I have found the food to be inferior. It was my husband’s birthday so I chose not to complain. Our server was lovely and did her best to make the evening enjoyable.
Consistently one of the better restaurants in St. Louis. The only knock I would give them, is that I think their biscuits aren't as good as they once were. The seem very dry now. But the seafood, the wine, the service are all top notch.
I've always loved Bristol's. I usually would only go for special occasions from my Monsanto days in the 70's/80's, but it has become one of my favorite dining places for all occasions, and one of the best places for fresh seafood.
At our business meal we had 4 people from out of town. One didn't believe that St. Louis could offer good seafood; so he ordered a steak. On initial presentation the steak was undercooked; then on second presentation it was overcooked. Fish was not up to your usual standards; waitstaff as always was excellent.
We spent another evening here as part of an annual business trip we have taken to St. Louis for the past two years. This has got to be one of the best seafood restaurants I have been too in my life just in terms of overall presentation, food quality and service and we are from NYC where there are numerous Michelin Starred restaurants owned by Celebrity chefs on virtually every corner. We started off with a seafood tower. Oysters were super fresh as were the shrimp. The King Crab legs tasted like anywhere else, but the lobster claws were great. I had the halibut which was incredibly moist and flavorful and my friend had the Rainbow Trout which honestly was one of the best pieces of grilled fish I had ever tasted. Fantastic meal, fantastic service and a great time. Highly recommended.
Had a nice lunch with a friend in a quiet private booth. The salmon was seasoned and cooked perfectly to my request--very moist and tasty! Service was prompt and friendly. I've been there many times and have always left satisfied.
We had an amazing experience taking my mother-in-law out for her birthday dinner. Our service was impeccable and our food was top-notch. Highly recommend. Will be back.
Very attentive service food was excellent lobster bisque especially good
First time and service was great. Brunch was fantastic with excellent servers.
Well, just let me say, I had a great Sunday brunch. I hadn’t been to Bristol’s in a long time, and decided to meet a friend there. The experience was very warm and pleasant and I will visit again.

Went for brunch. Very dark inside restaurant but buffet was great.
Great dinner atmosphere was good. Server was friendly and prompt
Crabcakes are awesome, the best in St. Louis! The music was a little loud and I was with my elderly parents and they were so nice to turn it down. We really appreciated that!
Food was adequate, one of the dishes was a very over cooked lobster. Very disappointing for a seafood restaurant.
Our Server, Adrian, was amazing! The meal, Seafood Grill, was some of the best seafood I’ve had in quite some time!! The salmon, shrimp, scallops and crab cake were each cooked to perfection!!
For decades I have chosen this restaurant for family occasions and entertaining business. It has been reliably satisfying each outing, and remains on my wife's top 5 places in town. Both service and food were at or above anticipation. The Chef's Special BBQ Swordfish and the Scallops&Shrimp Rigatoni were well prepared and very tasty (and filling). The place is pretty well known by St. Louisans, but notes just for OOTown visitors to this location: go-to for fresh seafood, private and ample parking, lively HH scene of surrounding area professionals, and 'non-chain' level service / non-pretentious club decor.
As always, the food and service are great. Tonight I had the crab cakes which have a lot of lump crab meat with little filler...really good!
Bristol's is where I was first introduced to Albarino from Martin Codax. A Spanish grape/wine from Galicia that is a great value in white wines...try it the next time you are at Bristol's!
Very consistent- good selection of fish and seafood- service is always outstanding.
Since this was not our first experience, we had a benchmark to gauge this event. It was our 26th wedding anniversary. Our "assistant" Ed was the epitome
of professionalism. knowledge and decorum. The food was as we expected. We will be back, and hope Ed will be there to help us. Cheers!
Love the happy hour menu..great menu selections, good wine and good service
I don't live near by (I live in the city) but when my friend was coming to town and staying at a West Port hotel, I jumped at the chance to bring her. She and I both loved our meal. She had the barramundi and I had the halibut. They were both delicious and the sides were great, as well (she had the asparagus lemon risotto and I had the sautéed veggies and asparagus). Laura, our server was great! The only thing is that the music was a tad loud for us to have a quiet conversation, but we were under a speaker, it seemed. I was reminded by my experience that I need to make it back to Bristol's more often. Thank you!
Excellent attentive service without intruding. Broad if slightly pricey menu, great for a meal with business partners, or a special occasion with family and friends.
The food was very good, the service was very poor. After the food arrived, the waiter near came back to check on the food until I was completely finished. I would recommend the restaurant for the food.
Sunday Brunch: Arrived early for reservation, they still had to set up table, but ended up in small private room - bonus! Layout was not bad, but lighting could have been a bit brighter. Servers were helpful and friendly, but responsible for a lot of tables- forgot a coffee request, but returned quickly after second request. Omelettes and fresh waffles- excellent! Nice variety of fresh seafood, all good except for sushi - warm, maybe sat too long if not a popular item. Carving station ham and beef could have been hotter. Nice selection of hot items, good flavors, trays kept filled. Good assortment of fresh fruit. Excellent bread pudding and mini crem brulee's, but "molton" chocolate cakes were just brownies, and cookies on dessert station looked like store bought afterthought. It all looked good on paper, but sort of hit or miss. Some excellent items, many good items, a few not good. I'd say yes to go again, but it's not at the top of my list.
We’ve been here a few times and each time has been amazing! The staff, the food, the ambiance, and the proximity, we simply love it all.
With the reservation, we were seated immediately. Appetizers were promptly served. Dinner was great. Great service too.
Great place to meet friends, have a great meal and good conversation...
If you enjoy good selections of seafood and other fare, Bristol is a great place to go. Sure, we dont live on the ocean in the midwest, but their selections are flown in daily. This time, we were seated near the bar area, and it was a bit loud. Next time I will request seating away from the front area.
Food and service were fantastic.
Service was impeccable and food was as always fresh and delicious. They celebrated my birthday by sending me a free $25 entrée certificate, having a Happy Birthday sign on my table, and a free desert (with birthday candle). Very happy patron!
I have dined here several times over the past few years and it the first time I was very disappointed. The food as always was very good but the noise level was ridiculous. The music was so loud people around us were nearly shouting to hold a conversation. When we asked if they could lower the music in the dining area we were told it was happy hour... what the music level in the bar has to do with the music level in the dining escaped us. They seem to have no problem charging $3 for oysters in the dining room when they were only $1 in the bar. It took almost 10 minutes to get an oyster fork because .. it was happy hour. But they set the tone for the evening when they did not seat my 85 year old mother because I was parking the car. Not impressed with our recent experience.
I had heard good things about this restaurant, but was very disappointed. The halibut was terribly overcooked and very dry.
Had an amazing dinner tonight with my family for my Birthday! Dinner was excellent and the service was above and beyond. Thank you Bristols’s.
We have always enjoyed our experience at Bristol's. Especially the Sunday Brunch. I appreciate that its available until 2pm on those Sunday's when the Pastor is a little 'long-winded', we can still make it there in time for a great experience. This Sunday was no exception. Food items are always fresh and served so that it is appetizing and pleasing to the eye. Our server was attentive but not intrusive. He checked on us frequently and didn't feel like a 'bother'. On the occasion when we have met friends and family, we can sometimes get a little loud and the setting is always acceptable; given that we always ask for a booth more out of the way so as not to disturb other diners. Still the same great service. I always appreciate the coupons and specials that get sent to my email. Always makes me want to come back again and again!
We went here for our anniversary. The food was delicious and the service was great!
