Great place for a date. The atmosphere was casual and the food was great. Our server was a young guy who knew his stuff. My only note is the noise level is quite high so if you’re looking for something intimate this may not be the place.
Great food, great waiter, nice house wine and rose. We will be back!
Presentation was very good, portions were decent. The Tomahawk and salmon didn't disappoint however the beef rib was a bit dry so disappointed with that dish. The mushroom gnocchi was very good...soft, flavorful and perfectly cooked but too little to be called a main course dish.
A bit disappointed in our recent visit to Briggs. The menu choices have been pared down and the service was not up to previous standards. The food (mostly burgers) we ordered was good.
Such garbage service by both the server and the manager I don’t even want to waste more time on explaining.
Good atmosphere and service staff. Food was yummy and drink selection was decent. Only complaint was the lunch menu had very limited choices.
Server was excellent. Cheerful and engaging. Made us our own custom cocktails! 3 Versions of a ‘Baby Face’: iced tea and gingerbeer. Baby Face is my oldest daughters nickname (by her younger sister).
My wife and i brought our new born baby and had the wings and burgers. started with cocktails. everything was good. we'll be back.
We love Briggs. The food is always great and it's an easy place to take the kids with you. It's not usually very busy through the week. We feel this place has large portions and is very affordable.
The food was fantastic, decent portion sizes and quality - I had the halibut sandwich, which anyone in Alberta knows can be a risky move. Our server was outstanding, friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we had an absolutely enjoyable experience.
Wonderful food, excellent service, comfortable and immaculate.
Get their house poutine as your side dish - the gravy and house cut fries are to die for! We were made to feel like VIPs and I can't thank the serving staff enough for that. 10/10
Food, value, and atmosphere were all very good but the service was quite poor. It was slow once we finally got a server and even getting a server to pay attention to us was difficult. What should have been a normal amount of time for lunch took probably twice as long due to the slow service. The servers were very nice once we got one though.
The food was delicious but a fairly small portion. The server was still being trained, so I can’t really say it was good or bad. Seems like too many tables squeezed in, and the lunch hour became very noisy.
Attentive staff, good wine selection, great food. Enjoyed everything
The food here is always amazing. However on this day they had some kind of gathering near the bar and our table happened to be very close to that area and it was hard to hold a conversation. We also had a small table that barely fit our food platters and every time the waiter stood between our table with the tables next to is his back side would bump our food platters. Not a huge deal but that and the noise didnt really make us want to stay and relax as we felt crowded and overwhelmed by the noise. Our server was awesome too.
Service was excellent. Colleagues ordered the mushroom soup and it came out Luke warm. The waitress offered to re heat but most had already ate most of it. Short rib was fork tender and large. Lacked a bit of flavour as most of us needed to add some salt and pepper. Crispy potato under the short rib was crispy and good. Plate needed a veggie but you have to add that from the extras. Drinks were great and different and we shared a lemon tart with raspberry sorbet with whip cream which was very tasty.
I love going to Briggs for the short ribs! My favorite! We were please that it wasn't busy for brunch as we were last minute. The waitress was amazing! We needed to do some catching up and she never rush us to leave and always looking after us even we had finished eating and everything. I don't know her name but she was fantastic!
Okay. Nothing outstanding!
they have downsized their menu so that they can make less items and make these well.
Looks good to me!
Great food & service! Will definitely recommend to others and be coming back in the future!
Decent food prices, my wife thought the steak sandwich was bland but her pasta was great!! Also it was hard to find the entrance coming from the east
I read on a website that Briggs made really good Caesars, and having friends from Europe coming to visit, I wanted to show them something that was a Calgarian staple. They were just ok. Nice venue, but the bathroom smelled like sewage, even before getting in the room. I've come to expect better quality when coming to Briggs in the past, something's changed.
Was very disappointed with experience, I have gone to Briggs many times and loved it I had family in from out of the city and was excited to take them to a favorite restaurant. The restaurant made an mistake with the reservation number and had to add a chair to the table which was in the aisle to the bathroom, the table across from us had some very drunk individuals who were first sleeping at the table then puking in the bathrooms which was a mess, one of the stalls was out of order and one could not lock along with having puke everywhere. Our waitress was obviously having some issues with keeping up and dropped the salt and pepper off at our table and ran off, the salt was not defined both appeared to be pepper so consequently used incorrectly on the meal, she was slow in coming to the table for our drink orders as she appeared to have to attend to the drunks across from us which appeared to only add to the over serving of these drunk individuals. I am very disappointed as told my family this was such a great place and it was not the experience I had had previously.
Tomahawk was like that of a chieftain warriors, large and proud. Crushed one between friends with the tick-tacks and brussel sprouts, fit for a god of the sky.
The staff are very attentive, depending on your preferences, it can feel a little disruptive if you are having a lunch meeting or engaging conversation with your table. It was great service and the server was excellent and very nice, however I prefer to be left alone a bit more.
The food is always so good. I go to Briggs particularly for their curry chicken salad. Amazing!
Service was good and food was great!
This is a favourite and go-to when wanting a high energy dinner out.
Good brunch menu with professional service
Great food, great ambience!
Valentine’s Day dinner. The restaurant was absolutely packed but they still managed to provide perfect service without any mistakes. The food came out insanely fast. We were blown away. Can’t wait to return!
Bar tender was amazing!
Great food, great value and great staff!
They were so kind and great service, got to pick my own table, food was excellent everyone enjoyed !
Prompt polite and knowledgeable servers who respected we were carrying out a business meeting. Food was delicious!
Went for breakfast Sunday. Not busy at all - server was nice enough and reasonably attentive, however, food did not meet my expectations. Poached eggs were stone cold and the toast had a faint fish old flavor to them. I should have sent both back but was pressed for time. My wife said her waffles were very cold too. For $16-19 for breakfast I expect better food prep/delivery timeliness. Overall disappointed and won't be back.
The food was awesome and the service was excellent. We will be back!
The Paella royal was terrible, there was very little flavour, the sea food was overcooked, and the rice was stuck together very poor dish.
I would not recommend eating here. We went since reviews were 5 star and it was listed as a top 10 in Calgary. It feels more like a bar than a place for dinner. Uncomfortable seating. Very loud, lights were burnt out so dark, we used our phones to read the menu. Felt grungy. Unappetizing presentation of food for our table. Brown chicken with beige fries on a wooden board, all brown and beige. Cole slaw was hidden under the chicken. Steak sandwich was ok, nothing more. Taco shell was cold, just out of the fridge, filling was cold at the bottom and barely warm. Not seasoned and no smoke flavour. Let the second taco and glad I did. Later that evening I felt like a Rock was in my stomach. Paella had no seasononing and was bland and tasteless. The fries were the only decent part of the meal. On to dessert. Lemon tart was frozen in the centre. Chocolate pot was overly sweet but edible. Our group was very disappointed as we are trying out the top restaurants. We would never go back and will advise others to look elsewhere.
Great spot for some good food, wonderful service and quick eats!
