A San Diego tradition since 1969, the Brigantine has received many accolades in our 40+ year history: "BEST SEAFOOD", "BEST CASUAL SEAFOOD", "BEST HAPPY HOUR", and even "BEST SWORDFISH IN THE WORLD", according to USA Today - just to name a few.



Beautifully remodeled in early 2009, the Brigantine is well-known for the signature Clam Chowder, Grilled Swordfish, and Fish Tacos. The Brigantine is a favorite among locals for consistently fresh seafood, succulent steaks and grilled meats.



Home to the America's Cup until 1995, Shelter Island is still the yachting center of San Diego. The Brigantine offers glimpses of this busy marina from the outdoor patio and semi-private banquet areas.



The Point Loma Brigantine serves dinner 7 nights a week, and lunch Saturday & Sunday. Join us for our signature $5 Happy Hour from 3-6pm.

    Our experience was not what we expected our fist time in dinning for lunch. The blacked fish taco was over cooked and dry. The coleslaw was tasteless and the fries were nothing special. The soup and Onion rings were very good as apps. Over all a disappointment coming in from Vegas to attend our nephews graduation on becoming a Marine. My last comment to help you improve. A wine training was going on at the bar with our sever given by the bartender. I appreciate the importance of training, however the sever was totally overwhelmed. Her performance was impaired and disappointing.

    Food was ok. We had the filet mignon x2 & the ahi tuna x2. All four just ok. Not a lot of flavor in either dish. My medium rare steak was cooked appropriately as was the medium well. It would be nice to offer other toppings for the steak. The peppercorn gravy on top was lacking flavor. I’d suggest putting the ahi sauce on the side as well & offer a few different types. Ambience was good. Laid back vibe, not stuffy. Restaurant could use a remodel. Staff was friendly, our server was attentive & did a good job.
