About Brigantine Point Loma
A San Diego tradition since 1969, the Brigantine has received many accolades in our 40+ year history: "BEST SEAFOOD", "BEST CASUAL SEAFOOD", "BEST HAPPY HOUR", and even "BEST SWORDFISH IN THE WORLD", according to USA Today - just to name a few.
Beautifully remodeled in early 2009, the Brigantine is well-known for the signature Clam Chowder, Grilled Swordfish, and Crème Brûlée. The Brigantine is a favorite among locals for consistently fresh seafood, succulent steaks and grilled meats.
Home to the America's Cup until 1995, Shelter Island is still the yachting center of San Diego. The Brigantine offers glimpses of this busy marina from the outdoor patio and semi-private banquet areas.

The Brigantine is in the marina lot. Metered parking is available Monday-Saturday day. Parking is free after 6:00 pm, and all day Sundays and certain holidays.

Semi-private event areas are available for groups of between 20 and 60 guests.

Great evening, good food with friends marred by a $42.50 ticket for parking in their lot!! Didn’t have change, no cc option on the machine, no price per hour noted on or near the machine, $42.50 was for 30 minutes in an empty lot!!
Very disappointing end to the evening. Restaurant should inform guests that there is a parking gestapo, hand out coins, validate.....something to let customers know that if they park near the restaurant they are screwed.
The Brig is always a consistent restaurant providing an excellent atmosphere for every dining opportunity. The Point Loma Brig is the most intimate restaurant in the chain. Great staff and service. They may wish to add prime rib to the menu, at least on a periodic basis.
We have loved the Brig for many years. We were disappointed in this visit however. The swordfish portion was thin and overdone; the lobster tempura tacos, while delicious, were messy and difficult to eat and the server forgot my husband's salad. We expect more from the Brigantine and will be trying new places for awhile.
We were there for Christmas Eve dinner and it just seemed off. The food was good but not up to their usual standards. The service was OK. Server had been on a while and it showed. Timing of our salads was off. We had barely begun on our salads when the entrees were served - and they were warm (but not cold enough to send back).
We have been dining at this location for several years and I was surprised at the decline in quality of food & service for this special occasion. Even on busy nights, they've done well in the past.
Our first time here was an absolutely amazing experience. After our second time, we won’t be going back. Food was cold and our 5 top order was totally wrong. They ran out of product and the service was mediocre at best. Even the Manager was at a loss for what to do. Bummer. We were really looking forward to our second meal here
We went in to celebrate a friends birthday/going away and as always had a wonderful experience. The staff is consistently amazing but I would like to give special recognition to Rita, who is the loveliest woman. We also received great service from a busser, whose name I did not catch. They did however, leave the BEST selfie on my phone when I asked them to take our picture! We got a great laugh from that!
The Brigantine in Point Loma was quite the delight. We hadn't been to any Brigantine's for long while because we had been quite disappointed with the one in La Mesa but this was a treat. The crab and lobster fondue was superb, although rich; the spinach salad luscious and the parmesan crusted sand dabs delicious! The creme brulee birthday dessert was among the best I've ever had! We got the window table as we had requested and had a lovely evening.
We arrived half an hour early yet were still accommodated with a window table with very little wait. The shrimp and chips were excellent, one of the very best plates of French fries in town. They didn't skimp on the shrimp, either. The service was excellent, although it took awhile to receive the bill. Good local beers. All in all, well done.
We LOVE the Del Mar location, but Point Loma was disappointing on many fronts.
The steaks were of poor quality and not "straight" from the kitchen only 30 feet away from our table. Crab cakes were dry and mostly breading. For 8pm on a Saturday night there where many loud playful children with little supervision from their parents.
Beautiful location. Clean. Needs new management.
Great food..killer crab cakes. Clam chowder...excellent and I am from the east coast. Simi Chardonnay. Fish and chips...nice and crispy. Beet salad was good but I forgot that I dont really care for raw kale.
Our waitress was da bomb. Helpful, efficient, knowledgeable, fun.
We will definitely go back when in San Diego.
You new swordfish dish was fantastic with the crab and avocado!
I also want the mention the server we had (10-1, table #24). I believe his name might have been Adrian?
He was outstanding! First time we have had him serve us, and since we are regulars, I'm thinking he's on the newer side...hope he sticks around! Thank you!
