Complimentary dessert for birthday. The crab fondue is fabulous! I really liked the dressing on the cashew chicken salad, was a little surprised by the quantity of kale, but it was much more tender than expected. My husband’s baked salmon meal was quite small. Our friend’s fish tacos with sides was more generous, and less expensive. Everything was delicious. Our server Corinna was so friendly and open!
Very good food and the service is excellent. My Cobb salad was loaded with crab and lobster, and was lightly dressed. The clam chowder was quite good with a nice briny clam taste. The bits of clam were tender, had just the right amount of potatoes andcseasoning, and was the perfect consistency (not too thick).
Ali is phenomenal at customer service! His attention to detail and smiles are wonderful.
Alaskan halibut was excellent as was the service. We appreciated getting a booth as requested.
Great service by everyone especially our waiter. Great food
Loved are waitress she was very nice and knowledgeable of the food!! She got me to try Osters for the first time!! I loved my friends lobster tacos!!
Tammy was our server and gave professional and personable service. Will ask for her next visit if possible.
I keep coming back to The Brig because the food is consistently good and the service is outstanding. Every effort is made to accomodate the customer and the menu is varied and always interesting. So creative. Great place for a celebration!
The Brigantine in La Mesa is a well established restaurant that has served the community for many years, all the while maintaining the quality of food, service and ambiance that makes it a very good restaurant. We have always found the service staff to be attentive, helpful, and with timely in service. It is a restaurant where you can have a conversation and not feel rushed, where good friends and family always feel it is a special treat.
The Brigantine in La Mesa has never disappointed us. We ordered the special of the day and were rewarded with well-prepared and presented halibut and salmon dishes. The service provided by the team was excellent and our server Miles was exceptional. We will return again for sure.
Perfect weather to sit outside for an evening meal. Less hustle and bustle than the other locations for a more peaceful meal
Everything was fine except the booths are too tight and the waitress handed a very hot plate to our good friend who was a female and didn't appreciate the blisters she received from getting burned on her finger tips.
As usual the “Brig” did not disappoint. Great Food, excellent service and patio seats! What more could you ask for on a Friday night
The staff is always friendly the food is always good, this is our go-to place when we have retirement birthday parties, and lunch meetings.
The food was delicious and the service was excellent, as usual!
Very expensive for what you get. Best part is (sarcasm) we went for our anniversary. We let the server know. At the end he brought us a dessert to honor it, BUT found out when the bill came, he ALSO charged us for the dessert that we never ordered.
As always a very good dinner. Really recommend this restaurant. Will naturally go again.
Love it every time!! Conning again soon and we have for 30 plus years. But your anniversary card membership don’t work any more, bummer!
One of the great qualities of the Brig is the consistency of quality. I always know the food is going to be really good. Had the grilled swordfish tacos and they were just splendid! Plenty of swordfish, great seasoning and an all around great lunch. Yum. Must do it again....soon.
After all the hustle & bustle from a long weekend of work it was a fabulous way to relax and refuel for the coming week.
Ali was our waiter and he was friendly, accommodating and great service without hovering. Food was very good and would recommend for a date night.
I think I could eat the blackened salmon all day long. My wife was similarly impressed with the macadamia nut encrusted halibut. Your waiter, John, was especially helpful and attentive.
The manager knew it was my birthday and paid for our drinks.
He is gracious, friendly, and thoughtful
So nice of him!!!
THANK YOU MANAGER RYAN
Great restauant. Hae never had a bad meal here. The different seafood dishes are creative and presented nicely on the plate. Tuesday's happy hour (fish and shrimp tacos) is a great time to come. Great prices and delicious tacos.
Took my 87 year young mom and sat in the open seating outside. Great environment
We dined with new friends. Unfortunately, they were out of several of our first choices. No scallops or rib eye at 6:00 on a Sunday nite. The food we did order was wonderful. Monica and Karly were great. We will return.
Excellent experience. We will definitely be returning.
By far my favorite restaurant. Never disappointed. Xlnt as always
Good for seafood; A bit pricey though. The sliders were really good!
The swordfish was excellent. Server was very accomodating.
Delicious food, nice setting, not stuffy but not too casual, fabulous wait staff, reasonable prices!
We celebrated Easter Sunday dinner at the Brig. Our sever was Brandon was phenomenal! Attentive and knowledgable about the menu. He also recognized our daughter’s 21st birthday earlier in the week!
He is an assist to the company!
We went there for Easter and it was a very pleasant experience. Our res was @ 4:30 and there was plenty of parking and the wait was short. Since we were first in line, we were seated first when they re-opened. We had a view table and the waitstaff were pleasant and attentive. We plan to go back.
Easter Sunday brunch was great. Highly recommend the Salmon Oscar Service was very friendly and efficient. Our champagne glasses were never empty. Highly recommend the Brigantine in La Mesa for lunch, dinner or brunch.
Our favorite spot in east county. Easy to get to. Great food and service. Always enjoy the variety and especially the fish and happy hour.
The food was prepared to perfection. The Alaskan Halibut was tender, juicy and very tasty. Our service was great and we thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience by using a gift card received at Christmas. The carrot cake though was a little dry - not the best we have had to eat.
Food was great! Both my date and I had a blast! The service was a little slow! For example we didn't get water or bread for the firest 8 or so minutes! But the waiter did pick up the pace when he learned we were old enough to drink.
Matt was an excellent server, food was A+. The swordfish was succulent and grilled to perfection, great salad, hand-shaken Margarita was balanced with sour fresh citrus and sweet orange liquor undertones. The Creme Brûlée and cherry cake desserts were a nice finish to a wonderful evening. Highly recommend this restaurant.
BrigLaMesa is one of our favorite restaurants and a regular venue. As seafood is the Brig's specialty, cuts are very rarely overcooked, which can be a problem in many non-seafood restaurants. This evening, however, was exceptionally good in other ways and therefore worth reviewing. Both my partner and I immediately noted that the bread was the freshest and most flavorful we'd ever been served. It was the same bread as usual, just much better. Maybe it was a fluke, but if the restaurant has improved its bread preparation, I hope they keep it up. The brig salad, too, was particularly fresh and artfully presented. They serve a lot of this tasty salad, and it doesn't often look as though much care has gone into its presentation. This time it did. My salmon was superb; my partner's California halibut was excellent as well (he prefers Alaskan, so was skeptical at first). Beautiful restaurant -- simple, delicious food.
