Well-known for our signature Clam Chowder, Grilled Swordfish & Crème Brûlée, the Brigantine is a favorite among locals for consistently fresh seafood, succulent steaks & grilled meats.
A favorite destination for locals & tourists alike, the Coronado Brigantine is located in the heart of the village, immediately adjacent to the historic Hotel Del Coronado.
Completely remodeled in 2016, the "new" Coronado Brigantine is an elegant adaptation of its former self. The addition of an intimate private dining room, a surround-seating bar and street-side outdoor patio have been equally well-received.
The Coronado Brigantine serves dinner 7 nights a week, as well as lunch Monday-Saturday.
Crab, shrimp, spinach, tomatoes, jack cheese, avocado, artichoke & jalapeño white sauce, served with breakfast potatoes
White bean ragout, carrots, broccolini, cherry tomatoes, chorizo & lemon, topped with sun dried tomato pesto
3 Grilled Oysters
Shallot-shoyu butter, wonton crunch
I had the salmon and my friend the swordfish.
Salmon was good, it was set on an unattractive bed of veggies.
Swordfish was dry, as expected I suppose.
The wine list is very lacking.
Nothing to write home about.
The fish was very horrible
We enjoyed the halibut and the ahi. Service from Charlie was very good. The Christmas decorations are lovely! We could see the Hotel Del across the street, lit beautifully!
Good variety and good value. Great food. Fun festive atmosphere. And parking lot which is key in Coronado.
Beautiful restaurant, delicious food, server was excellent
We arrived for brunch around 10:30am and sat at the bar. The bartender did a great job on my Bloody Mary, and the coffee was ok. The oysters were a nice size, but weren’t served with horseradish. I was given a large amount when I asked for a side of it, so that was nice. I ordered the seafood omelet with the eggs cooked soft, and my boyfriend ordered the chicken and waffles. The omelet was served with “potatoes” which was actually bell peppers and onions with a dash of what tasted like 2 day old potatoes. Both the omelet and “potatoes” were sitting on a bed of butter probably used for cooking the omelet. I had to eat it on a separate plate at one point. There was a decent amount of shrimp, but I had to dig for the small amounts of crab. The chicken and waffles had soft waffles served without butter, but overall my boyfriend enjoyed the dish. When the bartender asked how everything was (after we finished) I mentioned the “potatoes” and was told: “Yeah sometimes that happens. Would you like more potatoes?” I told him no because the ones on the plate didn’t taste good anyway. To spend $100+ on brunch in Coronado I expected an exceptional meal. I received hardly that, and will not be returning to this location.
Great service and price.
Excellent service, beautiful view, ambiance and food . Very enjoyable experience .
Food came out fast, and the steak was cooked properly
Food was medicore to terrible. My wife had bacon wrapped shrimp was that WAY over cooked. I had white fish that was OK. The cheese cake desert was very good. Would not recommend. Would NEVER return.
Wonderful food and always great service. The crab fondue is amazing and grilled octopus!
Brussel sprouts were too sweet, clam chowder tasted super salty and it was more like a potato soup. Fish that my husband ordered tasted old and extra fishy. My Cobb salad was good and fresh. We had to wait for our credit card at the end. He waiter forgot to give it back to us after we signed our bill. We were sat outside. The ambiance was good with the view of the Del.
Great food and great service by Izzy and everyone else.
Had a reservation - got right in. Waiter helpful and charming. Food was spectacular as it was four years ago. A staple in Coronado
The food was very good and the staff extremely nice and well-trained. A wonderful experience.
We usually go to the Brig in La Mesa and the quality of the service and food are great and consistent. The Coronado Brig was a disappointment in both service and quality of food.
Our waitress Miranda was outstanding. She made our dinning experience special.. I was there with my Bestie celebrating my birthday ..
Average tourist restaurant. Food was solid. But service was less than impressive. Waiter clearly preferred to serve large tables over small. It was fine. But just ok
Very loud- we left early
Everything was amazing. From cocktails/appetizers/entree/dessert to the ambiance. This is a place where you get a 5-star experience but can be in casual to fancy attire. The service was also great. I loved that we were given time in between courses so as not to feel rushed.
Comfortable outdoor dining. Fantastic server.
Food was wonderful, the service was outstanding! It is in a great location across from the Hotel Del Coronado with all kinds of things going on around it.
We made a reservation . they were very busy with "walk in's" but they honored our reservation with a nice table
Service was outstanding!
Service, ambience, cuisine were all very good. Care to detail and reception to customers was thoughtful and deliberate. We had a thoroughly enjoyable evening.
This Restaurant is over rated. We went there on a Saturday night for dinner and the restaurant was busy. We had reservations so we were seated within 5 minutes of arriving. I ordered a glass of red wine and it was served in a white wine glass. We ordered Cesar Salad and had to ask for Pepper which we were given a pepper shaker to serve ourselves. I would not order the MACADAMIA CRUSTED FRESH MAHI MAHI Breaded in crushed macadamia & panko, topped with lemon beurre blanc, parmesan risotto & chef’s vegetables. The Mahi Mahi was flavorless and Parmesan risotto was bland. The Fillet Minon Steak was a good choice. If you want your water refilled you have to ask for more.
The Shrimp Cocktail, Why so small, Also, I ordered 1 thing and got another and it was over cooked but good.
My wife loved the shrimp and grits plus chowder was super good.
Dined on the patio and the music next door was a bit loud which made it hard for us to visit. Would like to see the outdoor dining turned back into parking as there is NO WHERE to park.
Great staff & food
One in the party’s food was ice cold.
Seated outside - great evening temperatures made this a wonderful experience. Ordered the crab fondue for an appetizer - it was delicious. My husband ordered the Mahi-mahi - found it to be good but wasn’t really overly impressed. I ordered scallops with pumpkin risotto- absolutely wonderful. The scallops were cooked perfectly. The flavors in the risotto complimented the scallops amazingly well. Highly recommend.
Food and service made for a lovely evening. What I regard highly however is their honesty. We left our credit card behind in error after paying the bill and they had it in their safe when we contacted them the next morning.
We had a great time and server gave us excellent recommendations on wine and our dinner! We will go back!
My wife had the fish and chips and I had a stake.
Both were good
Daniel, our server, made our visit special. Top notch customer service and excellent food. Thank you!!
Every time I dine here, the service and food never disappoints! I came here for a birthday, and the staff was very friendly and catered to my partner and I’d needs very precisely. The food came out quickly and the waitress also asked if we would like our oysters first because I ordered a small plate that could also be considered an appetizer. I am never disappointed when I dine here, and we most definitely be back.
The waitress was phenomenal and made dining with young children enjoyable. She engaged them and was very accommodating! Would definitely return
Fresh, great tasting seafood available at an affordable price. A wide open restaurant, more for socializing, not so much a first date.
The Brigantine is always a treat. We actually went two days in a row as we were staying at the adjacent hotel. However, the entrees that all four of us had on Saturday night were sub par. We had macadamia crusted Mahi-mahi. Blech. Grainy flavorless fish with a bland crust that was pretty awful. The worst meal any of us had ever had at Brigantine. Thanks for Brigantine hot stuff otherwise a bad meal. Wont make that mistake again. It would’ve been helpful if the server had done something to alleviate a bad dinner like a discount or offering something else but no.
