Well-known for our signature Clam Chowder, Grilled Swordfish & Crème Brûlée, the Brigantine is a favorite among locals for consistently fresh seafood, succulent steaks & grilled meats.
A favorite destination for locals & tourists alike, the Coronado Brigantine is located in the heart of the village, immediately adjacent to the historic Hotel Del Coronado.
Completely remodeled in 2016, the "new" Coronado Brigantine is an elegant adaptation of its former self. The addition of an intimate private dining room, a surround-seating bar and street-side outdoor patio have been equally well-received.
The Coronado Brigantine serves dinner 7 nights a week, as well as lunch Monday-Saturday.
Crab, shrimp, spinach, tomatoes, jack cheese, avocado, artichoke & jalapeño white sauce, served with breakfast potatoes
White bean ragout, carrots, broccolini, cherry tomatoes, chorizo & lemon, topped with sun dried tomato pesto
Brig's Famous Fish Tacos
Cabbage, salsa fresca, cheddar, ranch dressing, corn tortillas
The food was cooked properly, but somewhat bland. My Manhattan had a cheap maraschino cherry. The server was attentive, but seemed disinterested in her job. The prices of food and wine were higher than their quality justified. All told it was a mediocre experience.
The food was very under seasoned and our fish was over cooked. My daughter is celiac and when we ordered a hamburger, no bun they literally brought out a brown patty on a white plate and that’s all. No lettuce, no tomato, no pickle. Then we had a birthday in our party and knowing one of the kids was celiac, the waitress brought out a dessert (that we didn’t order) and said sorry, this has gluten in it, dropped spoons and walked off. Very insensitive IMO and we did not plan on ordering dessert since it was not GF and didn’t want to make our 5 year old feel excluded. Just a disappointing experience
Great brunch menu and cocktails. Their calamari is very delicious.
Our server was very friendly.
They don't have a parking lot anymore since it being used for outside patio. Get there early to find parking on street.
My daughter is a celiac. Though the menu has many items noted as gluten free, the preparation was lacking in taste. Rather than having gluten-free substitutes they just left anything gluten related out of the recipe making it very bland.
The food was excellent and the service exceeded expectations.
Early dinner before theater. With 5:15 pm reservation we were able to enjoy a cocktail, salad and entree without rush to make 7 pm showtime. Service was efficient, food was above average and cooked to perfection. Margarita's are still legendary.
Great food and nice outdoor seating section. Staff was helpful and friendly.
I tried the vegan stew. It was too sweet and heavy. My husband had the mahi with risotto and loved it.
Don’t reserve using open table if you want to do happy hour. They seat you in their outside “dining” area that doesn’t include the happy hour menu even though it was during the happy hour time. Fortunately for us they were able to reseat us inside. Cheers!
We ordered the macadamia crusted mahi mahi and the wok charred ahi tuna, grilled oysters and the chowder. The food was delicious! The restaurant is right across from Hotel Del so if you are staying there it is in a great location! I would go back.
In general the enters were well prepared and the food was very good and tastey. The exception was the desert, we could not believe that the kitchen would allow a dry brownie, which was possibly several days old, to be served. Shame! The service was less than Ok. Waitress did not pay attention to our table, kept apologizing for not having what we ordered and kept disappearing for extended periods of time without checking on us. Moreover, despite the fact that there were four of us dining, never brought dinner rolls or asked if we would be interested in them. This is not the Brigantine we used to know.
We ate outside and it was a chilly night, but the heaters made it relatively comfortable. The Brig can always be counted on for a decent meal, so no surprise there. Our waiter was on top of things and pleasant - not over the top friendly.
Noise level was fine because we were outside. I find the interior to be deafening; not "energetic".
We have been here several times and never have had a bad meal. Everything was prepared very well and the menu is filled with a variety of choices. The scallops are probably the best I've ever had.
The waiter was fantastic. The food was over the top great. I highly recommend, we will be back!!
Great dinner - fabulous outdoor seating and wonderful music!
Thank you for a wonderful evening. Julia, you are the best!!!
Great food, get service
Waiter was not engaging and didn’t see that we had what we needed. Never received bread even tho they gave us plates. Told them it was a bday but not celebrated.
Firs time visiting there. Was on vacation in San Diego and the hop on hop off tour driver said the restaurant was really good. So when we got off in Coronodo we decided to have lunch there. It was delicious!!!! I had their special seafood salad and my husband had a french dip. Both was wonderful.
Calamari strips were outstanding and a great recommendation by our server, Alexa. Local oysters were much better then the ones from the east coast.
Wok Ahi was excellent as were the Shrimp and Grits. Drinks were a little pricey but food value was good.
The parking at this location was difficult. We circled for 10-15 minutes trying to find a spot. But, I love that this community is open and buzzing again. My friend got the Crab & Shrimp Cobb (the dressing was sweet...too sweet for that combination) and the Chowder. She was OK with both, but nothing to write home about.
This was the Coronado location, Orange Street. We asked for outside on Open Table and it was unknown that this could include the parking lot patio created during CoVid. It’s not a very nice one. Can see the kitchen entrance in back, messy, not very conducive to good ambiance. And the food has to come I think much farther from the kitchen. Nothing, although tasty, was very hot. So maybe be specific if you want the front sidewalk outdoor tables or the glassed-in atrium.
Service was the worst we have experienced on Coronado. First time at this restaurant. Forgot our oyster appetizer and dinner was brought to table before the forgotten appetizer. No offer of compensation for any of it. Waiter never even returned to ask how our meal was, or if we needed anything. So many better seafood places. Will not return.
Please add new vegan options to the menu. The one dish you offer (cauliflower steak) was not good at all, just undercooked vegetables in a too sweet sauce. Very disappointing
Our waiter, Dan, provided some of the best service ever! Very attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. We will definitely be returning!
Love this restaurant. One of our favorites in California!!
Food was very good, but our waiter never came by to see if we needed anything other than when we ordered and when we had to pay.
Our server, Riley, was exceptional. She helped us find something our 8 year old grand-daughter enjoyed. We happened to be there on a Wednesday and enjoyed the outdoor live music as we dined under the lights of the patio.
Great date night! Day scallops were amazing! Dan was the best server ever.
Great food in a great venue served by an outstanding waiter.
Overall a good experience. There was a bit of a wait even with reservations (20 min). The food was pretty good, we had the mussels, oysters, Salmon and Crab stuffed Prawns wrapped in bacon (too much fatty bacon), clam chowder and fish and chips. All in all it was a nice experience. The feel is a little older crowd (retired) and it was pretty crowded, some customers were not happy about not being able to be seated. I would likely go again during the week, certainly not on a busy weekend.
Outstanding service and the food was good. Portions were small. Cauliflower was substituted for Brussels sprouts without informing me!
Our server (Dan I think?) was amazing. He was the best server I ever eat had!
Fantastic service from Taylor! Food was very good and came out quickly. Great spot in the heart of Coronado, across the street from the Del Coronado. Overall a really good experience.
We were seated promptly even though we were 9 minutes late for my evening reservation. It must not be busy during out time slot. We were seated outside. The food overall was good. I would have deducted only half a star because the apple cobbler was not good but the appetizers and main entres were just delicious. The octopus was slightly chewy but hey it was expected. The shrimp and crab fondue was tasty. Our main course of filet mignon was perfect. We asked for medium and the meat was tender and juicy. Our order of scallops was well prepared as well. It was soft and tasty. The service was good and there was live music that created a very pleasant atmosphere. Highly recommend a visit.
Excellent meal and service. Scallop special was delicious!
It just wasn’t that good. Pork chops very ordinary. Ambience in parking lot was just ok. Service was fine.
It was nice
Our sever Daniel was outstanding. Food was delicious!
This was our first time eating there, and it was amazing! My husband and I shared the oysters rock, I had the lobster tacos, and my husband had swordfish. We made a reservation and were seated promptly. The restaurant was packed by the time we left. We visit Coronado every year and wish we had found this place sooner!!!!
