A San Diego tradition since 1969, the Brigantine has received numerous accolades during our 40+ year history: "BEST SEAFOOD", "BEST CASUAL SEAFOOD", "BEST HAPPY HOUR", and even "BEST SWORDFISH IN THE WORLD", according to USA Today - just to name a few.

Well-known for our signature Clam Chowder, Grilled Swordfish & Crème Brûlée, the Brigantine is a favorite among locals for consistently fresh seafood, succulent steaks & grilled meats.

A favorite destination for locals & tourists alike, the Coronado Brigantine is located in the heart of the village, immediately adjacent to the historic Hotel Del Coronado.

Completely remodeled in 2016, the "new" Coronado Brigantine is an elegant adaptation of its former self. The addition of an intimate private dining room, a surround-seating bar and street-side outdoor patio have been equally well-received.

The Coronado Brigantine serves dinner 7 nights a week, as well as lunch Monday-Saturday.

The lobster tacos were great but they paired them with truffle fries and green beans. The sides just didn't work for me. I would have preferred a Caribbean rice and black beans or something similar.

It was excellent. I booked a table for 8 the day before and they accommodated us very nicely. Everyone enjoyed their meals. The service was great. My only issue was they called me 15 min before as We we’re in the way to say that we needed to pay on one bill. It was fine for our group but I’m thinking for other groups of mixed couples or people, more heads up would have been nice.

The service was slow. The fish was over cooked and the risotto didn’t have flavor. One of our guests ordered a starter salad with no cheese. They brought it with cheese. When she requested a cheese without salad again, the wait staff apologized and took it back to the kitchen. They didn’t make her a new salad. The salad they brought back out had blue cheese in it still. It was obvious that they scraped off what they could of the blue cheese and handed it back to her. It’s quality service or food - wouldn’t recommend.

The swordfish steak was very good, says significant other. I had the special, Halibut, was slightly overcooked, but still tasty. Our service was excellent.

The best food we had on our entire trip! It was delicious! The service is wonderful, the food is fantastic, the atmosphere is great, and we hope we get to visit the area again sometime for another visit!

Had a 7:45 PM reservation upon our arrival were told it would be at least a 30 minute wait. We chose to sit at the bar and dine. We ordered oysters which three of the six were extremely small and almost nonexistent. The waitress noticed it and recommend that she bring three more to replace those three. The manager came by and was very pleasant and apologetic. I had the fish and chips which was above average. The plus was the wait staff along with the management. The minus was being unable to keep the reservation

Very attractive restaurant on the sea food was excellent. Service was excellent as well even though it was a Saturday night. I had read some reviews saying this restaurant was loud but it didn’t seem loud to us because I think unfortunately we were the loud ones that possibly annoyed everyone else. A reunion of friends. Everyone likes their food. We will definitely be back on our next trip. And it’s right across the street from the hotel Del which made it really convenient.

We are there 2 and our service the second night was horrible. My husband never received the vegetables that were part of his meal and both the lobster tails and my husbands halibut were overcooked. The waiter never came back to check on us and this was our anniversary. Would not recommend this place

We chose the Brigantine for our Valentine's Day meal and were not disappointed. My husband's halibut was perfectly prepared on a bed of risotto. My Cobb salad with crab and lobster was a treat for the eyes and the palate. Although the restaurant was very crowded, our service was excellent in every way. We love the Brigantine!

We had a very nice time. Parking was easier than expected. The food, as always was good. While the servers were very nice, it was hard to get them to come back to the table to bring us what we needed. My friend had to ask for Louie dressing 3 times from 3 different servers before it showed up about 12 minutes later. I asked for bread and butter twice. It never came. And it wasn’t that busy. I have no idea why the service wasn’t better. We’ve eaten here several times, and usually it’s fine.

My wife and I were late in getting a reservation for Valentine’s Day. I checked around and for what we wanted , the Brigantine only had a late reservation available. We arrived early hoping to get in and the hostess made it happen. The night start and finished as a pleasant and enjoyable experience.

We came here for our one year wedding anniversary (which also happens to be one one of the busiest days of the year—Valentine’s day) and they sat us right away (we had a reservation) and the service was quick, professional, and the food was beyond delicious! We have decided to make the Brigantine a tradition for our wedding anniversary and plan to come back each year to celebrate :)

My girlfriend brought me here for my birthday. Overall, very nice. We were seated in an area near double doors that led to the kitchen and bathrooms. Traffic by our table was fairly constant, for it was a Saturday night. Service was excellent, and gracious. Ambiance was good, yet a bit loud with all the talking.it was the dinner hours, after all. The waitress we had was prompt, without being annoying or persistent. I’d give the experience an B+\A-. I will dine there again soon, thank you!

We ate at Brigantine three times during our week in Coronado, twice for dinner and once for lunch. It has delicious food, an interesting menu, and good service. The first time we went, we both had the house salad and the mussels. We shared the salad, which was loaded with wonderful ingredients and good fresh greens, and half was plenty for each of us. We weren’t crazy about the preparation of the mussels, preferring it done with white wine and lots of garlic, but that was just a personal preference, not a criticism of them mussels. For another dinner, we once again shared the house salad and both ordered the ahi tuna. That dish was outstanding! The rare tuna was in slices around a scoop of rice and sitting on sautéed vegetables with Asian seasonings. It was extraordinary and would be my first choice on a return visit. Another day, we had lunch there and both ordered the crab and shrimp salad (can you tell we’ve been married a long time?) and it was delicious, fresh and loaded with goodies. Highly recommend this restaurant!

We shared the house salad, which was outstanding, then both had the mussels. Mussels were good, but it wasn’t our favorite preparation. Much prefer white wine and lots of garlic, not chorizo. Service was very nice. We always enjoy Brigantine and will return.

The food was excellent as you would expect from a seafood restaurant on the coast, however a bit loud and the tables tucked in the back are subjected to more serving/ kitchen noise. I had the shrimp & grits which was excellent in proportion and well- seasoned. Not too spicy. It is a good/ hearty dish. Husband had the macadamia crusted halibut which also was a great portion, just needed a bit more flavor. The meal came out quickly thankfully, as it was a bit of a wait to order and it wasn’t that busy.

Service was okay. It took some time for the waitress to come around and ask what it was that we wanted. It was really loud inside from so many people being in there and talking. Food took a while to come out. And 3/5 of my party got sick from the food overnight. We just had some high expectations of the place to spend our special occasion given the prices and the value they try to portray.
