Brave New Restaurant
Everything was great except the salmon was dry.
This was our third time and has become our favorite!!!
Brave New is on my top 5 restaurants for LR! Has a great location, always great service and food. I usually get the walleye but ordered a filet special with mushrooms and it was yummy. Jack was a great server.
Tall North facing windows overlook the Arkansas River and towering cottonwood trees. A deck railing with pink flowering vines enhanced our view. The waiter was prompt, friendly and polite, meeting needs without interruption. The delicious walleye filet was firm but tender in a rich cream sauce. My steak was cooked just right. The appetizers were creative, tasty and fun. Wine and desserts were excellent. This is a special place.
Excellent service and very friendly wait staff. Food was great, scallops were amazing. Definitely recommend their in-house roasted coffee with dessert.
Great service. Food good.
SLOW and not worth the wait
We were passing through Little Rock with our family. “Casual Fine Dining” sounded perfect - we love a great meal, but were in travel clothes. We booked an 8:00 table. We arrived 10 min early - the restaurant was full, but beginning to empty out.
We ordered quickly - no appetizers- just entrees with the salad that came with. The bread and salad came reasonably quickly. Then we waited.
The other tables emptied. No one else came in.
No one checked.
The waitress finally asked if I would like a glass of wine with my meal - I asked if we would be getting our meal soon. She said yes - but then we waited over ten more minutes. No one came. No one talked to us. The people we walked in had finished their meal and were leaving.
Finally, we got up to find a manager, who apologized and said they would get out meal rolling. We were at the one hour mark. We were told this was “fine dining” and not a "quick meal." (In a tone that indicated we did not know what to expect).
Finally, our meal arrived. The salmon had little taste; the tuna was bland. The steak was . . . good but nothing special.
We asked for the check as they served the entree - since we were clearly anxious to leave. The waitress left it and walked away. She did not return for the card. After ten more minutes during which we finished dinner, we had to find a manager to pay.
What could have been done? The management could have monitored how long the food was taking to come out. The server could have checked on us before the hour mark, once noting that we hadn't received our food after people coming in with us had received their meals, eaten them, and left. The management could have made some effort to conciliate the situation such as offering a free dessert or appetizer. But none of that happened.
Poor service, lackluster food and management that doesn’t manage. Don’t bother.
The food is consistently delicious. I love the fresh, simple menu selections that allow the taste of the food to be enjoyed without the ingredients being covered in heavy sauces or cheese. It’s simply delicious food in a simply delightful atmosphere. The wine selection is wonderful.
Brave New Restaurant was recommended to us by our daughter as a good place to celebrate our 44th wedding anniversary. What lucky advice! Food, drinks and service were outstanding. The entire staff were all very professional, friendly, and inviting, including the owner. The menu gave a lot of really good choices, with local fresh produce. Brave is now our favorite. One word of advice. We went the day before to find the location, which was also lucky. Until you walk into the place (which is on the second floor, with an elevator) you won't be certain that you've found it. The place was packed on a Friday night. You'll be glad you found it, and you'll be glad you made a reservation.
This was our second visit to BNR, first time was outstanding food but very pricey. This time we both ordered steaks and neither was cooked correctly and both of them lacked any kind of flavor or seasoning. My husband's steak had quite a bit of cartilage and gristle. My side was grilled asparagus which came out with 3 very large stalks (~1 inch diameter!) Only the very tips were edible. The bread is divine and our server was excellent at his job. We probably won't be going back because there are too many other good restaurants to go to and that don't cost $150 for two people.
Menu was limited because it was the day before the holiday. Some items we always look foreword to were not available. Otherwise all was excellent.
Always good dining. The heirloom tomato salad is fantastic.
Brave New is the best! We celebrated our anniversary and enjoyed an outstanding meal. Tiara did a great job waiting on us. Great food and a friendly staff.
Great service, great food. Excited to try lunch sometime!
Wonderful food and service
One of the best views in town paired with incredibly prepared and served food. The view over the Arkansas river is special. Ask if they have Walleye before you go and if they do order it. It’s delicious. The service is first class as well.
Fantastic as usual. Best tuna EVER!
Brave New serves fresh fish everyday prepared to perfection. We have never eaten there and been disappointed! Great place to invite dear friends!!
Always awesome! Our favorite place for celebrations, including our wedding rehearsal dinner. Walleye is a favorite, but everything on the menu is wonderful, so pick what you like. The freshly-picked (by Peter Brave himself) blueberries two nights ago were spectacular. “Curated” is the word—if you are picking for yourself you are choosy—those were the berries we had.
Brave New isn’t just for special—it’s for whenever you want a wonderful meal with a wonderful view.
Very tasty food, excellent service, pleasant outdoor balcony, pretty view of the Arkansas River.
Brave New is a sure bet for all special occasions, perfect way to impress out of town guests!
So consistently good. You can't go wrong. Great place for dinner or a business lunch. If you can get a view of the river it's even more special.
The Salmon was great, camembert appetizer was good and shrimp salad.. dont order the shrimp salad.
We have eaten at Brave New many times over the years, and every visit has been enjoyable and without any problems. The food and service are outstanding, and the owner always tries to stop by every table. This will continue to be a favorite for us.
Excellent! Had dinner with a long time friend - outside. The fish was very good as well as the service. Not bothersome, but knew when to show up at the table.
Brave New is my “go to” restaurant when friends are in town. I’ve never been disappointed but the crepe and soup combo on Thursday 6-14-18 was disappointing. The sausage crepe and corn chowder were lacking and just not up to this restaurants usual standards. However my two guest loved their lunch choices.
Don’t put the sausage crepe and corn chowder back on the menu.👎🏼
Brave was such an enjoyment. Since we have returned to living in Texas, an opportunity to dine at one oh our LR favs could not be missed. Mixed grill, my personal continuous enjoyable delight, was once again over the top! My wife enjoyed the crab and spinach stuffed trout! Her plate was clean. Our server, Cannon, was very attentive and knew all entrees completely. Can’t wait till we return!
Our server was just right--sorry can't remember her name, but she's very cute and her name starts with a T I believe--wears glasses. Exactly the appropriate amount of personality without distracting from our experience. One of the true great servers--and this means so much.
We had the wall-eye, which was perfect, as were the vegetables served with it. The gorgeous salad with newly harvested greens really was just so so pleasing.
We ate at a table overlooking the river at sunset. I'm telling you the experience was perfect in every way. And the wine by the glass was lovely. Here's another thing. They didn't pipe music out there. I adored the quiet and the sounds of nature.
Love brave!!! Peter makes each visit a special occasion. Food is always outstanding, & they make our daughter feel like a princess. She always wants to go.
Amazing place, wonderful view on the patio, great food, excellent service
Overall it was a good experience. Great view from the balcony. Owner was very friendly. The server was attentive, until after he brought the entree. Speaking of the entree, my duck was very overcooked. Well done, not medium-rare. Other than that bump in the road, the food was excellent. We will definitely return next time we are in Little Rock.
Awesome food, service and atmosphere as usual!
On a scale of 1 to 10 it was an Eleven. This was the best restaurant food I have tasted in months. Wonderful experience. It was great that the owner spent time with his customers.
Will absolutely come back.
Brave New is my go to restaurant for out of town friends, especially when the season allows you to sit outside and enjoy an heirloom tomato salad and a plate of smoked fish. I like the duck in the off season. All the food is good and the customers are often regulars.
The only problem is parking but I'm sure you know that
Food was excellent. Price was good for the food. The server was unorganized, needed repetition for the order, brought us a significant amount of butter with bread that was incredibly hard (inedible). The food is why you go because for our date the location was poor both in the city and for the type of building it’s in. Also the inside was very noisy and poorly decorated for the level of experience you can tell they are shooting for.
View was amazing. Mushroom Wellington was not my favorite but will be back to try another dish.
Our experience was exceptional. The food was delicious. The cocktails were refreshing. The view of the river was peaceful. We are making plans to go back to Brave New Restaurant as soon as possible. Thank you for a wonderful evening.
It was our first time. We received a gift card from a family member. The restaurant has Great food. Its very nice. I took my wife for a special occasion. We thoroughly enjoyed it.
I think we ordered the wrong thing but the waiter was great and the atmosphere was good
