Fresh, local ingredients, prepared with care. Excellent wines that reflect the quality and character of our region and work in concert with the cuisine. Warm, inviting ambiance, service at a relaxed, leisurely pace. Santa Barbara ‘Wine Country Cuisine’ means we source our ingredients using an ‘as-fresh-and-as-local-as-possible’ approach, with fish from the Santa Barbara Channel and produce from the surrounding countryside. We then take into account how these flavors can be presented in concert with our local wines. We believe you’ll taste the difference. Bon Appètit!

Bouchon is a guaranteed excellent dining experience. It never fails! I find the staff to be knowledgeable on wine and cuisine and always very pleasant. The outdoor dining is wonderful, we have sat on the the front patio several times and love the ambiance. Bouchon is a must destination while in Santa Barbara visiting or for a special occasion as a local.

Excellent meal. Great menu. Service was excellent. We ate indoors and loved the open kitchen. My only complaint is that they don't have a full bar. Outstanding wine list, but I like a cocktail before and after dinner.

Highly recommend. We will definitely be going back

Service was great. Food was above average (wife enjoyed her soup, and we enjoyed the appetizer, but my medium rare steak was closer to blue rare than med rare)

Having to sit on the street was a bummer. We didn’t know that was a possibility when we made our reservations otherwise we would have dined elsewhere. $$$ for dinner inside a tent with howling winds wasn’t what we expected and definitely not what we wanted.

Went to celebrate our anniversary. We were greeted with a card and rose petals on the table The food was fantastic, the service was great and we had a wonderful evening. Would definitely return!

Had higher expectations for this place. Birthday was met with card, which was nice. But seating was cramped on the street, table was very tiny squished between stations. Very long delays in service for food delivery after order. Rather than telling us about delays, they waited for our inquiry to explain about a very large order that had slowed the kitchen. Once food came...lamb dish was mediocre compared to others we have had...flavors and overall composition was nothing special. Sea Bass was perfectly cooked and quite fresh, but again dish was bland and overly rich and buttery ... and lacked flavor. It was really just comfort food that was overly priced. We had to wait a long time with empty plates before we got so tired (nearly 3 hours into meal), we werent asked if we wanted coffee or dessert (would have been a good time to bring a little something for the long wait and birthday). I said we are ready for the check. Only then did they ask if we wanted dessert. We are on Vacation, not a marathon! Another note is the bathrooms. I am sorry, but I must call out they do not offer seat protectors in the public bathrooms. This is not a 3rd world nation, and supposed to be a fine dining restaurant. Our only experience like this is restaurants locally.

We have been to Bouchon a number of times in the past couple of years as the food, service and ambiance have always been 5-star. While the food was 5-star, our server was not the best. For starters, we had to ask for things twice. Then, for the first time in either of our dining experiences, we were told we had to order our entrees the same time as we ordered wine and appetizers. This is a first for either of us and felt very rushed. He explained this was their policy but I had dinner here twice in recent months and never experienced this. In addition, it is considered poor service (in a nicer establishment) to reach across the table to pick up plates or items which our server did a few times. Again, disappointed but hoping this was a one time deal as all of our previous dining experiences have been great.

Super disappointed after reading good reviews here. Service was AWFUL! We waited 20 minutes for drinks and 30 minutes for bread. Our food which came about an hour after we had been seated was either bland or way over salted. Wagyu steaks were the best of our four meals though they were over salted, duck was nothing to write home about and the lamb was way over salted and on a bed of pureed chickpeas that were bland and paste like. The Forest mushroom appetizer was flavorless except for the truffle cheese bread of which there was very little compared to the amount of mushrooms it was served with. We brought our own wine as we were celebrating a special occasion for which we were charged a $35 corkage fee. Ouch. Overall the dining experience at Bouchon was disappointing and way over rated. We will not be dining here again.

I can’t say enough about how excellent the experience of dining here was. The food is absolutely outstanding. It’s creative, but also find a way to blend ingredients and creativity so it is not over the top and bizarre. The chef was absolutely amazing. The service was impeccable, and the ambience was perfect. We had a big birthday celebration, and although the restaurant was full, we never had a problem being able to hear one another in conversation across the table

We started with a mushroom ragout appetizer that was great, but then we waited 80 minutes for our entrees to come. The short rib was really good but the duck was chewy. We also had ordered a side of Brussel sprouts that were extremely undercooked and not edible. The appetizer and the short rib were not worth it due to the lack of service and long wait time.

It just seemed to be an off night for this place. Perhaps the kitchen was overwhelmed by a private banquet party. My dorado was swapped to sea bass without my knowledge. First bite was not very appealing- chewy, rubbery with a strong fishy smell. Management quickly adjusted this to their salmon. A beautiful steak like salmon piece was presented, unfortunately it was way undercooked. Apologies were made by waiter and manager. The third presentation was perfect! (They readily offered compensation for the fish mishap.) My husband’s Snake River steak was superb! Our waiter, Dylan, was excellent. The rose petals and card for our Anniversary on our table were a delightful touch.

Had six people for dinner, three of whom had birthdays close to the date. Menu offered a wide variety of salads, meat, fish. Desserts were excellent. Good comments back from all at the dinner. Seating at a big round table was perfect. Would highly recommend Bouchon to anyone, especially for those who are celebrating a special event.

Whenever we visit Santa Barbara we always have at least one dinner at Bouchon. It is special, very special. The food is outstanding. And the staff is always very attentive, knowledgeable and friendly.

Probably one of the best meals I have ever had. I had the ribeye and my boyfriend had their duck, salads for appitizers and lava cake for dessert, everyrhing was amazing!! Service was beyond excellent and setting of as romantic and cosy, not loud at all.

Very accommodating and we were able to choose our table. Dominic gave us the best service possible; very attentive and congenial! Duck and lobster pot pie were delicious! My wife was very happy celebrating her 60th birthday at this restaurant!

We celebrated my wife’s birthday here last night and had a wonderful experience. Not just because the food was great but also because our waiter, Dave, provided us with the best service. We were coming from out of town and got to the restaurant later than our reservation time and near closing. Dave didn’t rush us at all and treated us and our 2 toddlers with outmost kindness and care. He even went as far as giving us suggestions as to where to take our kids during our visit. We will definitely be back again and hope we’ll get to see Dave again.

My husband and I reserved dinner at Bouchon for a special occasion, upon immediate seating we knew the evening was going to be remembered. We sat outside in the parklet, which unlike other places did not feel like we were anywhere but the restaurant. The table had rose petals and a card from the restaurant. Our server really blew us away, being just the correct amount of attentive while giving us amazing recommendations. He assisted us with wine pairings throughout our entire meal and did not disappoint. We decided to order all the seasonal menu items, as the farmer’s market on Saturday was when the chef picks out the items — so you know it’s not only local but very fresh! There is nothing to complain about, the evening was perfect!

Nice setting. We ate at their open patio area. There is additional outdoor seating in front of the restaurant. Skip the onion soup. It was rather flavorless. The crab cakes, the sea bass and the duck were all excellent. We had a pleasant romantic anniversary dinner.
