Bouchon - Santa Barbara
Fresh, local ingredients, prepared with care. Excellent wines that reflect the quality and character of our region and work in concert with the cuisine. Warm, inviting ambiance, service at a relaxed, leisurely pace. Santa Barbara ‘Wine Country Cuisine’ means we source our ingredients using an ‘as-fresh-and-as-local-as-possible’ approach, with fish from the Santa Barbara Channel and produce from the surrounding countryside. We then take into account how these flavors can be presented in concert with our local wines. We believe you’ll taste the difference. Bon Appètit!

The service-excellent, the yellowfin appetizer is delicious, the Lobster stew was beyond, and the Lemon upside-down cake was over the top.
Has been a favorite for many years and when entertaining a guest from out of state, it did not disappoint. Duck was superb as ever and the French onion soup id fantastic!
Customer service is superb! It was a great experience. Celebrated our wedding anniversary here. Food was scrumptious. The overall experience, service, and food was well worth the price. We’ll definitely come back.
The food was excellent, my wife had the Pan-roasted free range jidori chicken breast and a mixed salad, she loved them both. I got the grilled-center cut American wagyu ribeye.
Delicious! I also got the French Onion soup, it was a little salty for my taste but I ate it all!.
Portions are small but enough for dinner. Pricy for my pocket but the right price for the overall experience, not to mention that it was a special occasion...I was celebrating my wife of 32 years and best mom to our two kids.
I highly recommend The Bouchon.
Excellent as always! Great service with personal touches. Highly recommend!
Absolutely amazing experience. Every detail was perfection. From the moment we were seated in the beautiful courtyard, to the wonderful service from Tony, to the amazing food and extensive wine list, down to the perfect jazz music playing throughout. We will definitely be back.
Great food, great service - will definitely come back!
Highly recommend the restaurant. I can not say this about many places but every detail of our meal and time there was excellent. The front of house and back of house seems to work a smooth as a swiss clock. A must if you are in SB for the day, the weekend or even live in town.
I still find it odd eating on the street but like most restaurants, Bouchon had the outside set up quite well without losing their alluring ambiance. The food and service as always was excellent. Thank you.
Loved the restaurant. The food was amazing and the service excellent. Will definitely come back.
Nice, but the food and experience didn’t rate 5 stars in our opinion.
Superb dining in downtown Santa Barbara. Food is uniformly excellent, well prepared, ingredients are always fresh. Service friendly and prompt. Server quite knowledgeable about the food and the extensive wines available. Always a pleasure to eat there.
Birthday dinner during Covid. We had a really nice experience! I’d recommend coming here for any special occasion or romantic dinner out.
Really good food. As a French seems a little bit overpriced but its SB.
Wonderful Anniversary Dinner.
It will be even better when the inside is fully open.
Wonderful service from Morgan. Very knowledgeable about wine. We appreciated the rose petals and flower arrangement centerpiece for my husband's 90th birthday.
This place was wonderful! the staff was super knowledgeable in both the food and the wine list. We were celebrating our anniversary and they left rose petals and a card on our table, making it very special. The food was outstanding! 15/10! We split the Beef Duo appetizer, which was just absolutely spectacular. My husband got the wagyu, which he said was the best steak he's ever had (which means a lot coming from him) and I got the Duck which was just superb. They also made a terrific outdoor seating for covid regulations. You can tell they invested a lot into it, it was very inviting. If you are celebrating a special occasion or just want a very nice meal this is the place!
It was the great experience! Thanks to all stuff)
This was one of the best meals I’ve had. The food was outstanding. Service was impeccable. I have a severe life threatening allergy and our waiter knew all of the ingredients and assured me of my safety (wish i could remember his name!)
Amazing setting and everything was perfect! Our server, Dominick(sp?) was very knowledgeable on everything in the menu which was very helpful as we were kind of seeking recommendations. Food and ambience were top tier for our post-engagement dinner!
The staff was amazing from host to our server including the food runner. It was nice to have a personal heater at each table. While all tables were full, the noise level was minimum with tables strategically placed so it felt very intimate. The presentation was great, the food was even better. We loved it so much, we debated going back the next night. Five stars all the way around and cannot wait to explore more of the menu.
Always a treat. Would like to see some specials added to the menu.
Food was great and service was attentive. Make sure to request outdoor table if you want one otherwise you’ll likely be seated next to kitchen.
Wonderful experience. Our table was ready when we arrived, staff was kind and helpful, food was fantastic. Risotto that accompanies the ribeye was incredible.
Made a reservation far in advance for a long awaited birthday dinner for my daughter. We were seated in the outdoor foyer of the restaurant, it is really beautiful. They had a Birthday card for my daughter and rose petals lightly spread on the table, such a sweet touch. Seating is now outdoor and indoor, out on the closed street as well. Beautiful experience. We started with Crab cakes, Scallops trio and Mushroom ragout. We love tapas so we share the stater plates. For the main course, we had Lobster pot pie, Wagyu center cut ribeye and Rack of lamb. All were delicious and perfectly cooked to order. Tony, our waiter was well attentive. He brought out our desserts, Blackberry lemon upside down cake, Creme Brûlée with berries and a lit candle. Best dinner by far in a while, thank you Bouchon and Tony!
Nothing outstanding. Expected more for being a Bouchon.
Bouchon is the best French restaurant in Santa Barbara and our "go-to" place for special celebrations. It's food, service and ambiance are all 5 stars. Can't miss here.
Great food and wonderful service. I had the duck and it was excellent. The ambiance was lovely. We will back next time.
We enjoyed our anniversary dinner here with a thoughtful card and rose petals from Bouchon! The staff were all extremely polite, helpful, and courteous (especially regarding covid). Huge thank you to Amy (I believe) the hostess and owner who helped with a few special photos too!
Bouchon has provided enjoyable French cuisine to us for many years when we travel to Santa Barbara. With the pandemic reopening, they have placed a parklet structure in the (closed) Victoria Street, and the effort is a success. I actually find dining outdoors (in pleasant weather) superior to indoors, and I hope some restaurants, such as this, keep the outdoors option.
Birthday dinner. Very nice outside in parklet
I usually don’t write restaurant reviews but I was so impressed by our experience at Bouchon that I had to leave a review. My fiancé and I came after our engagement shoot because we wanted a special date night. From our first interaction, our server was so friendly and helpful. His recommendations helped both my fiancé and I decide on the dishes we ordered.
We got the French onion soup for our starter, which we both agreed was the best French onion soup we’ve ever had. For our mains, I had the wagyu ribeye and it was the best steak dish I’ve ever had. I’ve had $150+ steaks and this dish was even more incredible and delicious. The Bouchon hash underneath made the dish even more memorable because who doesn’t like potatoes, cheese and bacon. My fiancé had the duck and it was wonderful as well. I’m not usually a poultry fan but it was juicy and moist and flavorful.
Upon our servers recommendation, we had the lemon cake with McConnell’s ice cream and it was equally as delicious and memorable as our mains. We were deciding between 2 desserts and our server helped us choose but gave us the option to exchange for the other dish if it wasn’t to our liking. The lemon cake was wonderful but it was a kind and thoughtful for him to offer.
Because of Covid requirements, we were seated outdoors but the heaters were well utilized and the environment was made cozy with lots of candles and mood lighting. We felt like we were in an outdoor cafe in Europe and it created a very romantic mood.
If you have a date night or a night you want to make special, definitely give Bouchon a try! We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in town.
Service was outstanding, staff was very knowledgeable about food and wine pairing.
Food was yummy and delicious!!
Came here for a birthday. Absolutely loved the food and service. Would highly recommend and would come back again!
Amazing food and staff. Always a great experience!
Delicious! I had the duck and my husband the steak. Both amazing. The service really good!
We had just an incredible experience at Bouchon for our anniversary dinner. They seated us at a fairly private table under a street sign "Lover's Lane", and upon being seated, the hostess sprinkled red rose pedals over out table. What a beginning, they even had a written note welcoming us to the restaurant on the table. And both the food and service were spot on. Our waiter, Mason, was both knowledgeable and accommodating. What a geat night, highly recommend it!
