Bouchon - Santa Barbara
Fresh, local ingredients, prepared with care. Excellent wines that reflect the quality and character of our region and work in concert with the cuisine. Warm, inviting ambiance, service at a relaxed, leisurely pace. Santa Barbara ‘Wine Country Cuisine’ means we source our ingredients using an ‘as-fresh-and-as-local-as-possible’ approach, with fish from the Santa Barbara Channel and produce from the surrounding countryside. We then take into account how these flavors can be presented in concert with our local wines. We believe you’ll taste the difference. Bon Appètit!

Food is wonderful and the staff is attentive even on the busiest of nights. They make an ordinary occasion seem so special.
We had the best anniversary date, thank you so much for everything, you made our night special
Food was amazing and so was service. Can’t wait to go back when it’s fully open.
Excellent meal and the staff was great. Will go back when we visit again. Had a great Wagyu steak that was cooked perfectly. The scallops were on point as well.
The seered scallops appetized was fantastic. The Bouchon label pinot noir was fantastic as well.
Loved it, the best food in town in my opinion. Excellent service as well.
Server lacked attention to our table, duck was served raw, short rib plate was bland.
The whole experience felt rushed through.
Cannot see myself going back to eat there.
My husband and I were seated in the wonderful outdoor structure built to comply with COVID-19 restrictions. Bouchon did a nice job creating an attractive and pleasant atmosphere for outdoor dining. The service was top notch, as was the food and drink. I had the Duck which is their signature dish. It was delicious, and the presentation was beautiful. We will definitely be recommending Bouchon to our friends.
Excellent food and service, and the waiter helped us choose a delicious bottle of wine. Great night out!!
Excellent service provided by Morgan & the quality of food was superb.
Never disappoints! Delicious meal and excellent service!
As always the food and service was excellent The waiter was great and very engaging
Amazing food and service.
Our family was in Santa Barbara visiting our daughter in college over Easter. We decided to reserve Bouchon for Easter dinner based on reviews and the menu looked amazing and seemed like it would have soldering for everyone in our party. We were seated immediately upon our arrival in an outdoor canopy the restaurant set up for Covid restrictions I assume. It is actually the nicest canopy setup I have seen since all of this outdoor dining has been forced upon restaurants. Heaters were at every table and a floor had even been built so that you aren’t just singing in a parking lot. It was a chilly evening on the coast, but everyone stayed surprisingly comfortable with the heaters.
Dinner was amazing. Our order included the Wagyu Ribeye, the chicken, the salmon and a lobster pot pie. Everyone loved everything they had ordered. We also ordered dessert which included molten lava cake, crème brûlée, and a lemon cake and again, everyone was more than satisfied with their choices. Our waiter was excellent and attentive throughout our entire dinner. We will definitely be back to Bouchon next time we Santa Barbara.
The food was excellent. Would highly recommend. The service was great as well.
I highly recommend dining here. The food was delicious, the service superb and the ambiance was really great!
Delicious food, accommodating staff that were friendly and welcoming. We had an incredible time.
Great food and great service
Exceptional food, wine and service ! It was perfect from the beginning to the end. Best restaurant that we had in a long time !
Bouchon of Santa Barbara may be the “original” Bouchon location but it was a disappointment. The French Onion soup was the only item that was still special. The Brussel sprouts were green and cold in the center upon arrival. They seemed to boil them a little longer after sending them back but they were tasteless. The bread was cold. The sea bass was fine but the rack of lamb was cold, tough and lacked the usual crust. The risotto was just ok. It was all very overpriced, and the service was just mediocre. We so wanted it to be better. Toma is #1 in Santa Barbara now and Bouchon needs to kick it up several notches to even be close to Bouchon locations elsewhere.
Great menu. Good for many taste buds. We will go back to try other dishes and reorder dishes we had. Our server, David, was great in all aspects of our dinner. It was our 54 year anniversary and we were greeted with some nice surprises. All servers and bus people were extremely polite and nice. ALL questions were answered. Definitely give Buchon a try when you want some outstanding food in a great atmosphere in downtown Santa Barbara.
Full package: lovely ambiance, friendly staff and great food. Wine recommendations with our mains were on point.
The food was really good, the service was excellent and the ambiance nice.
Lovely understand French cuisine with a Med twist and great local wines.
My son and I ordered the Wagyu ribeye and it was superb. My wife ordered the Lobster pot pie and she enjoyed that. The appetizer (mushroom) and the dessert (chocolate lava cake) were also both excellent. The setup outside for Covid was very comfortable with heat lamps. Service was also very good. I was impressed with the overall experience and can understand why it ranks so high on TripAdvisor. I recommend it.
I would absolutely recommend Bouchon. We celebrated a birthday and I loved the special details the restaurant put into making the experience special. It’s a wonderful place to celebrate special occasions. The food was delicious, the quality of the ingredients is exactly what I expected, the wine pairings are also spot on. We even took a dessert home because we couldn’t decide on just one! We hardly ever order dessert but we knew it would be worth it.
Outstanding food as always. Louie was a great, personable waiter.
Service was great and very nice ambiance. Delicious sea bass preparation! The lamb tasted good but was oddly tough. Overall it was a very nice experience.
Excellent service and food to match. We had appetizers: French Onion soup, seared yellowtail and main courses: Lobster pot pie and their signature duck breast. Everything was superb and we will be going back.
Made us feel welcome from start to finish. Celebrating a birthday and they knew it and did a great job.
Super knowledgeable about wine and menu.
Delicious meal; beautiful presentation; helpful, friendly wait staff; did not feel rushed. Would definitely recommend.
Over 12 years the dining at Bouchon has been exemplary and unimaginably consistent. The service is always spot on, and our server this time Morgan was flawless. the proprietors Mitchell and Amy are engaged and a joy to talk to. The menu and wine list set the standard.
The Chef Greg Murphy is creative and truly a skilled professional. He personally presented our main course and put up with our questions without complaint.
The Sommelier David was a wealth of knowledge about their offerings and was well skilled at his craft.
We secured the inside of Bouchon for our wedding rehearsal dinner four years ago and fully intend to do it again for our fifth anniversary.
If I was only allowed one plate to have for the rest of my life it would be the “Bistro Beef Duo” - I’ll be having dreams about that experience for some time to come.
Hands down the best restaurant in Santa Barbara!
Awesome food and service
Food was good, waiter (Louie) was great, very knowledgable about the menu and gave good recommendations. The lobster pot pie was good but very rich. My wife had seabass which was quite good also. The crab cake appetizer was probably the best crab cake I've ever had. The molten lava cake was phenomenal. The only downside was that one couple behind us got drunk and started loudly calling over to another couple and speaking about private matters and inappropriate things, but that's not a reflection of the restaurant. The waiter was understanding and even apologized to us, and did everything he could to make the experience better.
One of THE beat meals we’ve had in the US in a very long time. Service, ambiance etc also wonderful.
Good food and except for the hostess good service but definitely not kids friendly
We absolutely enjoyed the meal and server. Highly recommend!
Excellent service, and impeccable food. Thank you for making our anniversary dinner so enjoyable. We really needed it.
Very nice! Quiet table inside (did request outside in original reservation) did not matter. Friendly, helpful wait staff. Food was very good
