This restaurant is closed. I found out by arriving for my reservation to see a sign on the door that they are closed for good. I wish I would have been informed seeing as I was prepared to eat brunch and had to wander around looking for another place to eat in the area.

We made the reservation via Open Table but when we got there it turned out that the restaurant had gone out of business. You need to remove it from the app.
Bottega is closed permanently. You allowed us to make a reservation and we drove to the restaurant only to find it closed.
It was one of our favorite restaurants and we are disappointed to see it close.
Even more disappointed that Open Table would allow us to make a reservation at a closed restaurant and have us drive all that way to find we didn't have a place to eat dinner

The service was very bad, slow and unkind.
We ordered salad and bread, the bread came very late after we finished the salad. When we asked why is it taking so long the waitress said that it is baked on the spot, which is a complete lie, the bread was dry and old and not fresh. We had 1 guest that we ordered a Kosher dish for her from a Kosher catering and the restaurant did not like it at all and almost didn’t allow us to have this dish. I will never come back or recommend this restaurant!!!
I came to SF for an interview which didn’t finish until very late and so I decided to grab a bite to eat here from the reviews and because I was in the mood for Italian food.
I asked the waiter for a margarita pizza and the pesto ravioli with lemon cream sauce, and the waiter said “it would be too much food for one person”. That slightly put me off because I was planning on taking left overs anyway back to my hotel and maybe even having pizza for breakfast the next day but I wanted to try something new so I decided to just order the pesto ricotta ravioli with lemon cream sauce, which was superb! Perfect combination of the sauces and the ingredients! I left there happy and full.

The food quality has gone down. We had a dish with portabello mushroom, but we could find the mushrooms except with a magnifying glass.
Food was excellent, service was not. Slow between courses, appetizers came out a different times, we had to ask to order main course and flag down various servers several times to refresh drinks, etc.
Was in San Diego for the weekend and looking for exciting places to dine in the city. This popped up as a recommended Italian eatery with positive reviews, exciting menu and cool design. The scene is truly unique and an experience unto itself. Kudos on the layout and decor and definitely worth experiencing.
Secondly, the menu itself was exciting and further elevated the experience. My wife enjoyed chatting with the Pizza Chef and it was evident he enjoyed his craft and took pride in his creations. One of our party had a pizza and was not disappointed.
However, the whole experience was tainted by the service. Our server seemed slightly indifferent from the beginning, but I was willing to give him a chance. Instead, he disappeared for a length of time after informing us of the specials and we had to almost catch his eye to check back in. No drinks ordered yet, no discussion of menu, etc.!! And it went downhill from there...he didn't even try to sell us dessert (which I normally disregard, but still you gotta give credit to the wait staff that make it their job to do all they can).
I'm hoping this was an anomaly. I mention to make others aware, but there is a lot to enjoy here and hopefully your experience with the staff will be different.
We had eaten here previously and enjoyed it. But the menu has changed and the service was VERY slow. Took more than 20 minutes from being seated to getting our first drinks. We would have thought 2 hours enough time to schedule for dinner but after two hours we had to rush to finish our dinner that had finally arrived so that we could make it to the ballet. And drinks we had ordered to accompany dinner only arrived moments before we needed to leave anyway.
Sigh, it was a disappointment.
The waiter did give us the manager's card for a presumed discount "the next time", but why would we go back?

Food was great for the most part. Salads and pastas were delicious. The flatbread was a little too chewy. Service, however, was very slow. We waited at least 10 minutes after we ordered our bottle before we received it. It was a Tuesday night and the restarant was not busy.
Beautiful decor. Service was slow and not even busy. Avocado toast was surprisingly bad. Looked like store bought guacamole on mediocore bread.

Beautiful place full of details! I was there with a friend for a Saturday brunch. We order a delicious Breakfast Pizza as an appetizer but it was more than enough for us as an entré. Of course along with mimosas and a tasty tiramisu for dessert. I want to go back with my husband for dinner. I really loved the place.
After reading the reviews, our expectations were high and they didn't deliver. The baby kale salad was good, but as we were waiting for the next course our server told us they didn't have the Butternut Cappellacci we had ordered. So we went for the Orecchiette with fennel sausage, and it was very disappointing. We were splitting the pasta dish, and they brought us cold bowls, so I requested warm bowls. Once the pasta arrived I could tell it wasn't going to be very good - the pasta was overcooked, the sausage was in big chunks and the tomato wasn't ripe. In my experience, orecchiette is used when the sauce coats the pasta and little bits of it are caught inside - this was not the case. I only took a couple bites - not worth the calories.
We enjoyed the Whole Branzino. We ended with lemon ricotta cheesecake which was okay, not exciting. When I ordered coffee, I asked for almond milk. When she brought the coffee she announced they were out of almond milk.
It turns out the Cappellacci was a fall menu item and hadn't turned out well - why our server didn't know it was no longer being made seems odd.

Had a wonderful New Year's Eve Dinner a few nights ago. I loved the ambiance and our sever Jeremy was super knowledgeable about all menu items. I have Celiac Disease and he was super careful about checking with the Chef about what could be modified and what couldn't. To my surprise a lot of the menu items were Gluten Free and they even had two dessert options for me to choose from! Will definitely be coming back!
Been here a few times before and loved it, but the new chef and menu did not live up to my past experiences. Maybe it was a bad decision to try his new menu on New Years. The sea bass came out TWICE dry and hard. Our waiter was great and apologetic but the manager that night decided to fight with us about how we must be wrong about the food since the chef himself cooked it but was not there to defend himself. He did comp the meal and try to make it better after he fought with us but it was too late. Will not be going back again.
Always a good dining experience. Food is great especially the Happy Hour menu.
We came in for brunch on Saturday after Christmas. Three of us got egg dishes. Scrambled eggs w/burrata, roasted tomatoes and avocado & toast was good quality but lacking somewhat in overall flavor. Eggs w/shrimp & grits was flavorful. Our friends got an egg dish which she seemed to enjoy and the steamed mussels. Hostess was friendly; waiter was as well. Nice ambiance. Food came in a good amount of time. Sat at high table by the window which I'd recommend.

Let me start by saying, I have worked in the industry and currently own a customer service oriented business. The waitress was incredibly rude, as was the general manager. The food was mediocre at best, but the way me & my family were treated was unbelievable. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

This place used to be great but something must have dramatically changed. The service was really really slow even though the restaurant was not even busy. The food was average but the bread was just downright bad.
Chef Jeremy is amazing. His masterful talent makes BA a culinary delight.

Overall, we had a very good time. We brought our Italian friends here and it was their first visit. Their opinions are reflected in this review. The pasta was overcooked. We acknowledge to them that it may have been cooked for our taste as Americans. The fennel sausage ragu and the short rib agnolotti were good. The pizza quattro formaggi was extra special.
We wre looking forward to our dinner there, having received some good comments about it. The look of the place was wonderful. Had some drinks at the bar before being seated. Bartender was great and the drinks were delicious. However, when we were seated our server was very distracted and disconnected, we continually had to flag her down. We asked for the dessert of the day and she said they were out, even though we were the only people there and the first table coming for the dinner menu; plus when we were walking out we actually saw that particular dessert in the window display.
Great food, very noisy for a weekday evening, waitress was mediocre, but the food made up for it. I'd go back.
