Border Grill, not to be confused with the similarly named On The Border Grill chain, nevertheless serves up higher end Mexican for reasonable prices, which is quite unique for a restaurant located in a casino.
Hostess was very rude! It started raining and she put us outside with no covering. We asked if she could move us inside and she said she’d check. She never came back. We had drinks and guacamole while we were outside until we were moved inside after asking the manager. We had half our guac left over outside and they didn’t give it to us/offer us a new one/remove it from the check. Not the best service!
Great gluten free options
Even with a large conference in the hotel, Border Grill's service, food, and ambiance were great. Their take on classic chile rellenos was light and delicious as was their take on tres leches. I'm not sure how they were getting orders out of the kitchen that fast, but it was perfect timing, since I had tickets to a show after dinner.
There were large parties as well as private parties in some of the rooms off the main seating area, but I didn't see anyone waiting for water, drinks, food, or their check. These people have the conference trade down pat.
You charge $1.00 for two glasses of water. Wow been all over the world and that's a first. Its only a buck but wow.. it's not the water it's the fact you did it.
Our server Tiffany was awesome! She was polite and attentive when needed. Thank you!
Awesome, gluten-free TexMex, with wonderful drinks. It's a great place.
Always fabulous food here!!
Took 40 minutes to get our food....was super loud mainly due to the guy at the 8 person table 2 feet from ours. Bad experience with my wife and 2 daughters. Manager offered desert for free but we were full from 3 baskets of chips while waiting and watching people eat who arrived 15-20 minutes after us. Food was good. Our meal should have been comped or greatly reduced-50 off. They took 1 drink off our tab. Not going back.
Great. First time and we loved it. We had the flank steak. Excellent
Wait staff was great many gluten free choices
Autumn our server was AWESOME!!!
Food was good
Went whilst on holiday with girls, all of us loved food and was very reasonably priced. Would deffo recommend
The overall experience at the Border Grill was awesome. Our waiter Daniel was super responsive. He was patient, attentive and was willing to give suggestions. We never felt rushed which allowed us the opportunity to enjoy the place. The brunch menu is very reasonable. Come here ready to eat, because you have the option to have unlimited tapas. I even suggested the place to some friends that we have that are locals. Great choice for unlimited small plates for $38 and unlimited Mimosas for $15!!
I had a ceviche trio and thought the seafood one was the best, very tasty. Our server made the experience outstanding, she was tops. We sat al fresco which was nice and ate before seeing MJ One. We got there early so it was quiet but b6 6:15 it was getting packed.
Best meal I had in Vegas all week! Best service too.
The service and food at Border Grill was amazing. I was attending a very large conference at the Mandalay Bay and everyone rushed the restaurant at once during the lunch break. I made a reservation previously and they seated me right away. Despite starting service for a ton of people all at once, the wait staff and hosts were extremely nice and welcoming and I never felt rushed. Drinks and food came out quickly. The chicken poblano enchiladas were so great! I will definitely eat at this restaurant again and recommend to others.
Although we had confirmed reservations when we arrived we were informed there was a private party. We were offered a seat at a temporary set up outside the restaurant on garden chairs.
When we were seated we were then informed that there was a limited menu of 3 to 4 choices. We have eaten here many times and overall the food is good and we enjoy the
venue but this time we left disappointed . We really dont understand why they were accepting reservations given the situation.
Very slow service at convention center location. I thought should be prepared for a large group of people considering location. Would not reserve again.
they are charged for water! should have told us upon arrival.
Service/ambience: We were seated downstairs as we wanted to be indoor but with a view-view was bad, looked like an unkept back patio and no view of pool. Host shouldn’t sell it as such. Decided to stay put instead of making a fuss as it is a maze to get there. We kept our forks on a little plate while waiting for items but server INSISTED he bring us fresh ones-why? He never came back to bring them so bus person just gave us one off another table when asked. Separate drink list for additional $20 of unlimited mimosas and bloody mary’s would have been nice instead of server hurriedly announcing options-smaller glasses would be better as well to try all the options or do create a flight. Check your bill too-server made a mistake on that as well. Other then that, food came out seemingly made to order and fresh and server was pleasant but not attentive.
Food: Food was ok, better than your average brunch items. Brisket Benedict, chicken tamale, chia pudding-great, shrimp & grits, cinnamon pancake, steak and egg, pear mimosa-good, bread pudding, chicken & waffle, passion fruit mimosa and traditional Bloody Mary-bad. Overall, not sure if it’s for everyone but interesting to try once for this brunch concept.
They mixed up our order and it took forever to be served
The weekend unlimited brunch was amazing! Each plate was delicious!
The food is always super and the wait staff amazing . Luis was an excellent waiter and had wonderful recommendations.
The staff made it -all so welcoming. The food was very nice too.
+ attentive staff
- can’t think of anything negative !
Go there and enjoy!
For the most part, the food was good. Would I eat there again? No. But glad we at there once. Service was super slow. Waitress was nice. Skirt steak was amazing, but the sides left a lot to be desired.
The food is outstanding. I visited this restaurant twice during my recent stay in Vegas.
The BEST thing about this place was the service - our server - Melvin was exceptionally attentive, very personable and took great efforts in making it a pleasurable evening.. but alas, he was let down by the subpar cuisine which was largely bland, lacked flavor and taste!!!.. the chefs need to do a serious rethinking of what they are dishing out, portion sizes and the cost charged!!
Border Grill used to be my favorite restaurant, but the brunch is just too expensive for what you get. It does help that it is an allya! It is still very good though.
This restaurant "killed it" with customer service. Well done! One of the folks in our party was surprised with the green sauce on her dinner and remarked about it. A manager who happened to walk by overheard her lament and immediately offered to remake the dinner with red sauce or anything that she wanted. That was done, but the service did not stop there. The manager took the time to chat and learned that there was a Border Grill in our hometown and made us aware of the local discount. On top of receiving a discount, there was no charge for the meal that did not match expectations. All of this service was given happily and sincerely and at no time was our friend made to feel uncomfortable.
While it may seem obvious that this level of service should be the norm, it was done so effortlessly and graciously that I can only conclude that this is simply part of the DNA of the organization.
Everyone enjoyed their meal that evening.
We'll be back.
Exceptional and authentic food, extremely flavorful and savory. The avocado creama was off the charts delicious.
Delicious food! We go every time we visit Vegas. Their specials are worth trying and we love their Al Pastor Tacos and skirt steak. We were surprised and how satisfying and perfect their trio of sorbets were. There is nothing on the menu I wouldn’t recommend- and we’ve tried about everything. Honestly.
Great spot! Get the tacos! Service was great as well!
Great service. Great food. Many vegan options!
WONDERFUL service. great margaritas, great guac and salsas. Chicken tacos were to die for. must do this again, what a great way to spend National Margarita Day!
the food was inventive and perfect. the staff were great. We left full and happy!
Wonderful food and service! Second time back and will return again.
Get the hot salsa. You gotta ask for it.
The food was amazing! The service not so much. It took almost 30 minutes to get our drinks.
Varied menu, excellent chips and salsa, unique entrees, a bit on the pricey side for Mexican food with low food cost. Server and margaritas were excellent.
