Bombay Cricket Club is located in Portland, Oregon and offers an extensive menu loaded with Indian and Middle Eastern entres. This restaurant is open on all days except for Monday with a focus on a dinner setting. Bombay Cricket Club has both traditional dishes as well as unique dishes created by the esteemed chef. The lamb shahi is one of those creations, and it includes a slow-roasted lamb leg tossed in a tomato masala sauce with many spices, almonds and raisins.
The ambiance at Bombay Cricket Club is warm and inviting, with a dish for everyone. You can try the vegetable pakora or indulge in the tandoori chicken, marinated overnight for flavor. Also available is a chai tea made from Indian tea, for a twist on a contemporary favorite. As an added bonus, almost everything on the menu is gluten free.
This was sadly the last night for Bombay Cricket Club. The owners are retiring. My partner and I were fortunate enough to have been diners at BCC for the past 16 years. We heard the news of Karim and Sherri's retirment and have to come by one last time. We also brought another couple with us that had also joined us at BCC last year to celebrate my partner's birthday. We will miss BCC. The service was always consistent and the food always a treat. I'm selfish when I wish Karim and Sherri weren't retiring, but it's not about us (the patrons). Thank you Karim and Sherri for the years of wonderful food and great service. Judge Kemp
Wonderful place visited many times over the past 12 years will be greatly missed. The curry chicken livers and the lamb shank were favorites. Much happiness to the owners on there retirement.
Excellent meal - distinctive Indian flavor. Wonderful hosts!
There are a few good Indian restaurants in Portland , and I think my favorite Chicken Tikka Masala is at the Bombay Cticket Club. The Zathar Naan is outstanding!
Karim and Sherri are retiring! We are beyond happy for them and sad for our friendly Bombay Cricket Club family. We've been grateful customers for over seventeen years. Thank you, for every meal!
We will miss you.
Sad. They have closed.
Haven't been here in years was very authentic and great food now the food is just awful. No resemblance to Indian food. Chicken Makeni was odd tasting, sauce not creamy and chicken charred. How do you mess up naan?
Our favorite restaurant since the year Bombay opened. Wonderful food and drinks.
Dinner was delicious.
We ordered extra...to take home with us.
It was a location I never seemed to make it to...but has been around a longtime.
Food was good ...not great. Service was good enough, but slow. Drinks were ok, not great.
Glad I tried it, but for almost a hundred for 2 people and only 3 drinks I don't feel it was exactly worth the price.
This cozy ethnic restaurant has food that carnivores, vegetarians, vegans , and gluten-free folks can indulge in. In addition to offering a wide range of delicious food options, diners can select the degree of spiciness they prefer. The salads are large enough to share. My friend & I split the Greek salad. We didn't even have to fight over the olives as they were abundant. My friend enjoyed her vegetable curry. I loved the shrimp dinner I had. The basmati rice we each had was the right complement to our meals. We each had a fresh mango margarita so I don't remember anything else except that the owner went out of her way to create a memorable dining experience .
Who's never heard of Bombay Cricket Club? Lots of people, it seems.
Portland is in the top 25 for restaurants per capita--so we have a lot of choices.
Bombay Cricket Club is not a well kept secret; not when there are waiting lines and people turned away at peak eating times. So we make reservations and eat early. So choice!
This was my fourth dining experience at Bombay. It has a charming atmosphere and a wonderful staff. Their menu is substantial and the dishes are generous and delicious.
The food was amazing. And the service was exceptional. This is the place to be.
Our party of eight shared several delicious dishes during our evening meal. The portions were ample and tasty. The Naan was warm and delicious. The service was outstanding. Our server, Diane, was a gem! She anticipated whatever we needed, was cheerful, and even remembered our names! I highly recommend this charming Indian Restaurant!
Our service is always consistently great, as well as the food, but this night the food was spectacular! Everything was just perfect...
The food is never a disappointment here. We had meat samosas, lamb curry, tandoori chicken, and of course garlic naan. The samosas were a standout! Warning they do not seat until the entire party has arrived.
Love this place! The food is so good, we were still thinking about it the next day! Our waitress was so much fun! We will definitely be back!
Fantastic! Timely delicious food and service. Our favorite place to eat!
My first visit. This was perfect for a vegetarian, a pescatarian, and two ominvores. We shared four dishes, and it was delicious. Not too noisy; we had great conversation. Service was attentive. Thank you!
My wife and I receive personal attention, from the owners, the great staff, and even the chef and cooks-- all know our preferences.
The Mango-rita gets a lot of great reviews, but the Masala-rita is my wife's favorite, every time.
Portland has so many dining opportunities, but Bombay Cricket Club is our first choice for a great bite to eat.
Pfffft.... This little joint is unreal! A little short on space but easily the best Indian food I have ever shoved in my face. Get the chicken tikka masala and the lamb everything!
The food was amazing and the service was outstanding! I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Too bad this place closed.. this was my favorite from day one..
Karim and the whole staff are wonderfully welcoming and helpful. The food and dining experience is always great.
I love this restaurant! For me, it has the best Indian cuisine and atmosphere in Portland! I love the menu especially the Lamb Saag , Cheese Naan and you also need to try one of their specialty drinks like the Mango Margarita.
I have been going to the Bombay Cricket Club for 21 years and have always come away feeling welcomed, cared for and completely satisfied. Karim and Sheri take pride in maintaining a high standard in their offerings. I have taken groups as well as a nice dinner for two and always come away looking forward to the next visit.
Extensive menu. Sat upstairs by the rail which made for good people watching as well as seeing what others ordered. Servings were ample. Enjoyed left overs.
Best Indian food I have had in Portland! The Garlic Nahn Bread was amazing and my Husband really enjoyed the Mango-ritas. Staff was enjoyable and the ambiance was perfect.
Took my wife and 2. Adult kids here for dinner. As usual the food was excellent as was the service. Everything was cooked perfectly and the mangoritas were wonderful.
This is a must eat at restaurant every time we come to town to visit our kids.
I recommend Bombay to all who enjoy Indian cuisine. Spices are available from mild to extra hot.
We stopped in for a bite. Yummy! Pakoras were perfect, naan was simply sumptuous, chicken kabobs were a heartthrob.
A whole week went by without a visit to Bombay Cricket Club.
It was a bad week.
This week has started off great!
5:00 PM we were first through the door. :)
Soooo good, and the service was great!
I had the coconut curry shrimp which was very tasty.
Great Indian food, never disappoints! A hidden gem in Portland. We've been eating here for years and have never had a bad meal. Fast, exceptional service, great food!
The food is outstanding, the service is marvelous, and the Mango Margaritas are....strong!
We felt somewhat rushed by our server hoping to quickly turn a table. Food is always good here.
Always a great atmosphere, but the last two times we have been disappointed in our meal quality and quantity. Lamb Korma was overly salty, and rice was almost cold and not enough to serve four people. Coconut prawns were fine. Our table for 4 upstairs was so small that we couldn't order more than one appetizer. Have eaten here many times for the past 15 years, but this was a disappointing experience. We went away hungry for the first time.
This is our 'go to' place for friends and family. They really have the best Indian food in Portland and are SO consistent. We frequently bring people that have never eaten Indian before and enjoy ordering a variety of dishes to introduce them to the cuisine. The naan is always the hit ... that hot, gooey, bread is always the winner coupled with their creamy hummus. For novices, order the food mild or mild + and ask for the pepper sauce to spice it up and the yogurt sauce to cool it off and everyone will be happy. On this particular night our waiter was busy, but very attentive, kept our drinks full and was efficient at bringing the courses, organizing the somewhat small table with plates, and we felt well taken care of ... of course, this is what we have come to expect at Bombay Cricket Club, and always get.
Great service, great food. It's the best. Go try this place your taste buds will thank you.
