Very good lunch not been for 10 years as I live 5 hours drive away now, will probably be back next year when due back in London for the weekend
It was amazing!
Enjoyed the tasting menu with my family for a special birthday occasion. Excellent Indian food everybody enjoyed at the table
Visiting London. Try to get to the Bombay Brasserie every time we do. Never disappoints
My first visit to the restaurant. My friend spoke really highly of this and I must say I wasn’t disappointed. Authentic Indian food, great ambiance and even better service. It was my wife’s birthday and they presented us with a complimentary dessert. They really made it perfect for us. I would highly recommend it to others.
The place was stunning...great service, great food and a great night....
Great family dinner: Rogan josh and chicken tikka exceptional. Scallops starter very good.
Wonderful ambience and service and excellent food. We had the tasting menu and it was fantastic and more than enough food!
Been coming here since the 80s and food and service have got better. Particularly like the fact prices are inclusive of service.
Like many reviews of BB I remember it from it's past glory in the 80's and 90's when it was the place to go. I have not been back since and was therefore looking forward to seeing if it was still the place I remembered but regrettably far from it ! We had booked lunch for 1:30 as part of our day Christmas shopping but there were only a handful of tables occupied and the restaurant was cold and dark. Menu looked fabulous but unfortunately the dishes did not meet expectations. Our local curry house does better for a fraction of the price. Overall disappointing although to be fair our waiter said it's much busier in the evening.
I loved the experience yet again! I’ve been to the Bombay Brasserie a dozen times and it’s the best place to take visitors from abroad who have a discerning palate for Indian food.
I haven't been to the restaurant for a few years. The ambience and staff are as I remembered which is good. However the service was very slow and it took almost 45 minutes for the food to arrive.
We had the simple chicken curry and rice and a prawn starter (there were two!). We had a couple of beers and one gin and tonic.
Food tasted good.
The bill was £110 which in all honesty I felt was way over the top. It was great to see my friend from the US and we had fun but value wise - not good.
Wonderful service, food and ambience - the Bombay brasserie experience is always exceptional - must go again in 2020 !!
We had a late booking after a concert and they were very gracious welcoming us after what was probably a very busy and exhausting evening. The food was outstanding and we will most certainly be going back there soon.
Loved the bite size pampadoms to start. Soft shell crab: excellent. Sauce with chicken brivani (spell?) was delicious,
Lamb kebab, naam, raita all excellent. Masala chai delicious. Server was a delightful friendly gentleman. Thank you
A second visit didn’t disappoint....thankyou for a great evening
Celebrating our joint birthdays....excellent service and food despite huge corporate event going on in adjoining room. Chose Sev and spicy chicken starters- regretted when amazing main courses arrived, (should have gone for main plus dessert!). Mains were superb: giant prawns lamb biryani (not on menu), kebab platter, Aubergine mash. All sublime, perfect. Planning return soon!
They keep up standard year after year (came here in 80s originally....
Great place for special occasion meal, plenty of space and privacy.....
What a great experience! The food was excellent and the stuff was very nice and professional. We are definitely coming back as soon as we come back to London.
Food was excellent quality
Starters very the star
Water tasted of chlorine which was immediately rectified by ADITYA
the currys were authentic but could have been slightly more tempered with flavour
Bread could have been crispier and larger
They charged for onions and chillies which is wrong
Price on high side but authentic so could justify it - had prices been lower I would have returned more frequently (£30 for 4 prawns is steep)
Not your neighborhood curry house. Elegant, creative Indian cuisine with European accents. My favorite - the venison.
This was as good as it gets on a Saturday night. Discreet but attentive when needed, the staff were outstanding. Food interestingly different. Overall a good evening out.
It was 5th time in Bombay Brasserie, and each time its an explosion of delicious food
Extremely poor, bar was cold on arrival. We were then sat on the table right next to the kitchen entrance.
We were moved eventually, but unfortunately the food was cold and tasteless. Overall a wasted night out on London!
The food was very good apart from the fish plate. We found the ambience a bit dark and very quiet! The service was very good and the tastes (apart the fish) were fabulous!
Arrived at 6pm but they were not open so I rang them only to find they were not opening until 6-30pm
Even though they advertise as 6pm, so we went next door to the bailys hotel and had our aperitif.
On our return we were taken to our prebooked seats at 6-45 pm, there were only 2 x 2 seater tables and they were very close to each other so the couple who were placed next to us it was not very intimate for either party.
I found the a la cartel menu quite limited and went for the mixed grill and Bombay aloo with a naan to share between us, which we found nice but nothing special. To follow we went for the chicken Byriani which to my suprise was served with only a raitha I asked for a curry sauce with it ( which was a task in itself) as I also wanted to taste the flavour of this.
I can honestly say as an advertised class restaurant I was not at all impressed the service was maybe a little OTT but was ok.
Adding a charity donation to your bill although only a £1 seemed to be a bit contentious, because even if you didn’t want to donate ( I did of course) it would be embarrassing to have done so.
I regret to have to write such a negative report but I was very disappointed to say the least.
The food was excellent and the staff very friendly and efficient.
Great ambience for a quite meal. Food overall was great. Though on the a la carte there could be more veg choices. The mains were amazing however dessert options could have more Indian dessert choices. Would highly recommend it nevertheless.
Too much noise and confusion!!!
The weiter very professional
The chicken and lamb we ordered for our main dishes were cooked perfectly -- and the sauces were delicious. We also enjoyed the cucumber salad.
On entering, my reservation was checked and my coat taken care of. I was shown to a suitable table and took the time to appreciate the beautifully appointed surroundings. There was a complimentary serving of mini-papads and dip, plus a small taster of soup, while my meal was being prepared. I only had a main meal with rice, as I just have a small appetite. It was excellent! I chose Chicken Xacuti and pilau rice. I’ve already chosen what I ‘m having at my next visit!
Elegant but easy, very indian but also british, very good food, not so expensive.
this venue is always like paradise to us: highest level food, friendly & courteous waiters, excellent ambiance and to close the evening the cobra coffee from the expertise of mr. cruz. thank you again for your excellent hospitality.
I am biased as I have been dining here for over 30 years but for me it only gets better with time. Nowadays I tend to favour the weekend buffet lunch which is of the highest standard and the restaurant is as nice as always.
The location is elegant and very charming, the food is excellent, the wine list is good but a restaurant like Bombay Brasserie I think needs a better one.
Sumptuous food, beautiful surroundings and great service.
We loved our visit! Fantastic variety on the buffet and all items were delicious! Could do better on wait time for the breads, but the staff were sincere and open, which helped.
Also, the live music added to an already excellent ambience! We’ll visit again!
This was a perfect venue for a business dinner. The ambiance was wonderful with a pianist, food and service was fantastic! Would happily revisit
not worth the money. I did make a complaint to the manager; only then did the service improve.
should not need to make a complaint like this and the senior staff should have monitored service quality.
all in all - disappointed.
Fabulous venue, beautiful food. Attentive service.
It was my wife’s birthday and we had a lovely time. Food was excellent service was attentive, very professional warm and friendly.
Thank you Bernardo for looking after us..
Looking forward to returning soon
