   We normally do not write negative reviews but could not go without sharing our experience! We were so excited to go to Bohanan’s after all the positive, local recommendations! We first of all waited for 30 minutes for our server (Mariah) to even approach our table. Once she took the order we waited for at least an hour for our food. She did come back to apologize for the wait and tried to explain that she had talked to her manager and that our food should be coming soon. We continued to wait!! There were no special considerations made for our extended wait!! When the food did make it to the table I ask for salt and pepper and she brought shakers and I had to ask for fresh ground pepper, please! This is an upscale restaurant and ever other server offered fresh pepper. The ambiance was great as well as the food but I wished I had left with a more positive experience. There are many fine dining establishments in San Antonio and we will not revisit Bohanan’s!!

   Decent place, not worth it for the price as the food was okay relative to other steakhouses. Took forever to be attended to and steak was under cooked and burnt tasting. Tights packed so very noisy for fine dining. Definitely will not return

   Real nice old school steakhouse with a dress code. Bar drinks were excellent as was the bartender. Went upstairs for dinner. Service/waiter was stellar. One of the best we’ve ever had. We were seated in a small dining area, great atrium view, low noise level. He made good moderate priced recommendations for wine. Wine list is extensive and fairly high priced. Wedge salads were wonderful with jalapeño bacon and blu cheese crumbles. My wife’s filet steak was perfect while I was sadly underwhelmed with my prime rib eye steak. Basically thin, not marbled and tasteless. Side dish of truffle fries were perfectly crispy outside and creamy inside. All in all all a good experience but I have had better steaks elsewhere. Prepare for a very pricey dinner but steakhouses with a modest bottle of wine are all in the $400 range for two people.

   Prior to walking in there was a door man who did not open the door for us. However, from the moment we walked in we were greeted. All the way to our table. Our waiter was Mikal H. He was extremely attentive and on top of making recommendations and making the dinner enjoyable. Every busser and additional server were also pleasant and helpful. When we were done, we received salutations all the way out. The original guy at the door still did not say anything; however, a new gentlemen was at the door (around about 7 pm) and opened it as he bid us a good evening. We had the 16 oz Ribeye, Snappeer Royale, Macadamia Snapper, Salmon, Mac & cheese and lobster cream corn. Every dish was exquisite and satisfying. We have gone a few times. So, I definitely highly recommend.
