   Food drinks and service all great! Portion size was quite small on several dishes. Otherwise delicious. Dessert was incredible.

   While we are typically used to a top-notch experience at the Boat House, last night left us very disappointed. The food was okay but underwhelming - poorly described on the menu and not all that well-executed- and the service was unacceptably slow. Granted, we were approximately ten minutes late for our 6:45 reservation due to traffic- I did call the restaurant ahead of time to let them know, and was assured it would be no problem. We were seated on the covered patio right away. Our sever, while very pleasant, seemed either overwhelmed or unfocused. Drinks, appetizers and entrees took eons to be brought out. We were at the restaurant for three hours, which might have been nice for a leisurely afternoon but not at all appropriate for a birthday dinner with my elderly parents. I will think again before returning for a special dinner. What happened here??

   Best restaurant in Rhode Island. Went to celebrate our anniversay and the food and service were outstanding. beautiful waterfront views and friendly staff. Perfect night. We will be back
