Boat House Waterfront Dining
Everything was ok but the waitress needed reminding to do simple things that are simply expected as routine, such as lighting the candle in the light on the table or including a small fork with the plate of raw oysters that i had ordered.... it's just plain unprofessional!
Awesome experience as always. Great food, atmosphere and service.
A perfect venue for our anniversary lunch. We had a quiet table by the window and the heater at our table made it very cozy. Our server Timothy was very attentive. The food was amazing especially the scallops and the Creme Brulee was to die for. We will be back!
Our server JP was extremely attentive and helpful!! Very pleasant and made the evening that much more special. Thank you!!
We generally love the place but the waiter seemed distracted and disheveled this visit.
We always enjoy the Boat House. It’s one of our favorites.
Service was excellent and the food was delicious. We had a very attentive waitress without being overbearing.
This is normally high on my list of favorite restaurants. However, this time it took a long time before our waitress even took our drink order, we had to ask for bread since it wasn't offered and my seafood scampi had much less pasta than previous orders (which is ridiculous since pasta is such a low priced item). I also felt I should have been offered grated parmesan for my dish, but had to ask for that as well.
All that being said, I still love this restaurant for special occasions and would recommend it. Probably just an off night for them.
Great service, great food but the noise level is always a bit high. It makes it a little hard to chat with people at your table. Also wish the bar did NOT have a television.
The food and service was excellent. Although we arrived in the dark, we quickly found our way into the Boat House Rest. The only negative observation which we had was it was impossible to find a handicapped accessible parking space. Was it because it was dark and we parked on the other side of the street away from the restaurant or was handicapped space available on the restaurant side and it wasn't easily seen or found because of the darkness at 6 p.m..... So, my hat is off to the fine people who greeted us when we entered, the server (s) who took our orders, and of course the folks behind the scene who prepared our appetizer and meals. We will return. Thank you for making our evening pleasant and enjoyable.
Wonderful meal & service. Very consistent.
Thanksgiving reservation. Very satified. Great server
It was ok. Brought the family for Thanksgiving. Was rated 5 star on many sights. Maybe its better during the summer since near the water just to go for drinks and appetizers.Definitely overpriced got the seafood scampi, sounded great and looked good but not much on flavor, could’ve made better at home with a price tag of 32.00 a plate, it was ok. I tried for the experience. Don’t think i would go again.
We have been going to the Boathouse since it opened and it’s always been great, however our most recent visits have been declining in satisfaction. Our most recent visit on Thanksgiving will be our last. Service was horrible and the Thanksgiving Turkey Dinner was deplorable! It arrived within seconds after the appetizer was brought to the table and to boot it was cold. The turkey meat was almost nonexistent and the meat that was there was full of gristle. The green bean casserole was unlike any green bean casserole I had ever seen, looked like green beans mixed in with some canned dog food. Top shelf cocktails were not top shelf at all! I could tell with my first and only sip. Needless to say, we were in and out the door in 28 minutes, didn’t touch our meals and left two full Martinis on the table. What a great Thanksgiving!
Great place with awesome views
Great as always. But ate at the Moorings the day before and really liked the French Press coffee there. Please add to menu at The Boat House.
My wife and I dined for our 45th anniversary. We had a wonderful water view table. Our waitress was especially attentive and informative. From start to finish, the experience was excellent. Cudos to the waitstaff and chefs.
Al always a great dinner but I would like to say that the mezza plate should be served on a larger platter. The size platter is too small to enjoy the components individually, everything tends to get melded together rather quickly.
The Boat House is closer to Providence than you think. They have great parking and wonderful sea views once you arrive at the restaurant. The food is thoughtfully prepared and always tasty. The seafood is super fresh and the wait-staff is friendly and helpful. It's like a trip to the beach less than 30 minutes from downtown Providence.
Seasonal menu that highlights the Rhode Island coast. Not a bad table in the restaurant with ocean views all around. I would recommend for a special occasion or casual lunch with friends and family.
Great service. Great food! We went for restaurant week and it was wonderful, with the exception of one dish, which was just ok.
We went for restaurant week with friends. Some items were quite tasty, others just average. The restaurant was a bit noisy early on making conversation difficult. Service was below average. Even though it was restaurant week, I did not feel the meal represented much of a value.
Service was great! Food was delicious! Newport Restaurant week special menu was a great value!
I hosted a small "Girlfriend Luncheon/Reunion" at Boat House last week. We were seated at corner table with windows with great view of the water. Wonderful time! Food was fantastic - the lobster roll is a MUST! Staff efficient and we never felt rushed. The gluten-free menu is a definite plus. Thank you to the staff/chef for making our annual lunch so enjoyable - we will be back!
First time at this restaurant and will definitely go again, we were here during the Newport Restaurant week and the prie fixe menu gave a number of unique choices that were very good; good wine list and I'm sure in the spring and summer the view will make this a go to spot.
Happy hour means 1/2 price appetizers not drinks. Check which days of week. My sea scallops were excellant, my husband had scampi & was said the shrimp & scallops lacked taste. Not sure why but both entrees were over $30. All else ala carte. Their restaurant week menus looked inviting. Beautiful setting, water view visable throughout restaurant. Outdoor covered dining & events during season. Adirondacks for drinks at the waters edge.
Always a great at the boathouse, wish they had more bar area seats. We will be back!
The baked stuffed lobster wasn't up to its usual standard. We had it for lunch; previous occasions we had it at dinner.
Great waterfront dining with great views and ambiance truly a good place to celebrate a special occasion with fresh tasty well prepared dishes.
We got Engaged at the Boathouse 3 years ago and were celebrating that day with an amazing romantic dinner! Everything was perfect!
Our waitress, Randi, was fantastic. A friendly, down to earth, helpful waitress that put us at ease to enjoy a wonderful, relaxing evening. The food was not as good as I was expecting (dry, not fresh fish), but I wouldn't hesitate to go back and try again. A stunning view without being an "elite" atmosphere.
Had a great meal with friends. Unfortunately the woman at the next table ws very loud
Great place, good food and drinks. The service is good
Very nice place, great menu, great staff. We enjoyed our meal very much!
Great food and amazing service. Highly recommended!
We have been many many times and have had a function there. This was the first time that the service was not outstanding. Our server was not engaged and just went through the motions of our meal.
Me and my wife went for our anniversary the staff was fantastic and helpful it was our first time and will definitely be going back the food was excellent and plentiful we couldn’t finish and when steak and seafood is the Entrées that is saying something
