Shrimp, cornmeal battered, lightly fried. Cajun tartar sauce.
Dinner while in town fo my son’s graduation. Food was tasty. Service was perfect. Thank you.
Awesome team of servers, hosts and cooks! The bouillabaisse was the best I have ever had. Outstanding!
Great food. It’s made fresh to order, so does take a moment. I would definitely recommend ordering an appetizer and a drink. But the food was worth the wait.
College Graduation and Mothers Day weekend
We ate at Boar's Head Restaurant May 7th for Dinner. We had later reservations but there was not problem with getting seated early. We ate at different restaurants each meal during our four day stay and found Boar's Head to be near the top of the list. I had the Stuffed Shrimp and my wife had a Filet. The variety of menu items was very good and the number of Gluten Free options was also good since my wife must eat Gluten Free. The stuffed Shrimp was tasty and cooked with a good flavor and the filet was very tender and juicy. The place was hopping and almost full so noise was on the higher side but not a problem at all. The kitchen was visible from out table and was equally hopping with the quality control person notably checking each entre for it being correct before it went out. I would highly recommend this restaurant for quality of food and attention to detail.
Our service was very good. Each of our main dishes was very good. Shrimp and grits was out of this world. The fried green tomatoes was just Ok.
Food was fabulous, as always. Service was negligent.
In Savannah on our way home from Florida and for the second time we visited Boars Head. Delish! We had fried shrimp and Shrimp and Grits! Loved it.
Our experience and dinner at the Boars Head Tavern was awesome. It started with the maitre d' who was so friendly and welcoming, who later rounded on us to see how we were doing and enjoying our food. Our server, Sharon was awesome! She was so happy and totally interested in our dining experience. The food was unbelievable. We started with the she crab soup, and the bacon wrapped barbecue shrimp over this delicious cole slaw. The best was the entree of shrimp and grits. The flavor was unbelievable. We have lived in New Orleans and this shrimp and grits was better than we ever had there.!
Great food and great service!
Service was excellent and attentive. Food was delicious and cooked perfectly. We will definitely be back in the future.
Sadly it seems to be the way of restaurants in Savannah that no one answers the phone when you call nor if you text or email. That was the case with Boars Head Grill. This restaurant was recommended to us by our bnb where we stayed. Because I grew up in the hotel and restaurant business, I have a high standard that I set the bar as far as quality. As much as I really wanted to give a glowing rating, I can't. We did try the fried green tomatoes and was expecting great flavor. It wouldn't surprise me if these were actually ordered frozen. The presentation was lovely, the overall taste was disappointing. Like I said, I do have a high standard. The chicken piccata was spot on, light with nice mushrooms to the recipe. Would definitely order it again.
Good selection, friendly service, yummy food and fun ambiance!
Had lunch. Was very disappointed with the very limited menu.
Excellent food, very attentive waitress. Would definitely recommend for a delicious meal.
The Boar’s Head is our twice a year stop in Savannah as we travel back and forth from Florida to New York. The chef makes the best shrimp and grits I have ever had and he varies his recipe often. This last time he made a cream sauce with red pepper slices and thinly sliced sausage. It was delicious. Two months ago, the sauce was more of a ham gravy, equally delicious. Housed in an old tavern on River Street, the ambience is authentic. It can get a little noisy when full.
outstanding service from the staff!
You won't be disappointed. The shrimp and grits were the best I've ever had and the service was outstanding. We were a party of 4 and everyone raved about their meal.
My filet was cooked to perfection and the BBQ shrimp was so good! Setting was good and the service was good but not worthy of 5 stars. Would definitely go there again though.
Original reservation was for 9:15 pm, however restaurant was able to accommodate our party earlier at 8:15pm
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and a big thanks to Austin.
The food was absolutely amazing and the service was excellent. I would return in a heartbeat!
Good ambience in old style pub with great chicken salad crescant and she crab soup
Great Mai Mai. Breaded shrimp was great. Service was great also.
This place never disappoint me. Love the lamb chops, cheese grits and shrimp and the salmon
The She Crab Soup was outstanding. Loved every spoonful! The stuffed shrimp was delicious too!
Totally enjoyed ourselves.
Absolutely Amazing from start to finish! The host, waiter, food and ambiance was amazing!
Good food and great service - nice place to go if staying on River Street.
The food is incredible!! Staff are awesome as well!’
Delicious flounder special. Food arrived very hot, which was appreciated.
Everything was delicious! Service was great. Will definitely come back
The food was very good but the wait time for our meal was ridiculous. Others that had arrived after us got their food and finished before we ever received ours. The food was delicious though.
Its a trifecta. Location service and food. Fried shrimp was great. Service was even better. Recommend you try it.
We actually dined here while on vacation and absolutely loved everything about this place the old but clean strand our waitress she was awesome, the food was great we will definitely go back and retro any one wanting a great dinner
Server was excellent.
anywhere on the waterfront is going to be just ok, not great.
Old tavern type of atmosphere.
Nothing fancy but very enjoyable. Staff was pleasant and friendly.
Highly recommended for a casual dinner in an informal restaurant
Enjoyed a great meal overlooking the water. Service was top notch.
First time here. Food was great and the waitstaff very attentive. Decor was charmingly rustic.
