Beautiful food and wonderful service as always. This place is so special.
Delicious food and great experience, it is a unique, and cultural experience not using utensils with a comfortable and lovely atmosphere. Service was great and the owner is very friendly. Highly recommend and would go back again.
Tasty, authentic, interesting food and a welcoming owner who really looks after you.
Blue Nile is my boyfriend's favourite restaurant in Woolwich. We booked a table for his birthday dinner and the owner surprised us with a cake. It a lovely no fuss place to eat as a couple or with friends.
Favourite restaurant in London. It's a little out of the way (being in Woolwich) but is well worth travelling for. The value is incredible, the spicy meat stews and injera are unbeatable, especially with the spiced tea, and the tiramisu is one of the best.
We were planning to take my husband's aunt out to this castle in the Shooter’s hill for some mulled cider, stunning views and.. Christmas carols, followed by the dinner in the neighbourhood for her birthday. But, of course, castle visit had to get cancelled (snow in London is super powerful!!) and when we thought that this day is just not going to turn out well.. we went out for that pre-planned dinner. To the Blue Nile. Where we met Shewa who we connected with over Polaroid photos and her life story as a refugee back then and the owner of Blue Nile now. We had tears in our eyes while listening to Shewa’s story, then were laughing out loud when being introduced to Eritrean alphabet and true happiness visited us when we were singing happy birthday to our beloved one - Indira Fay! Us 3 and Shewa. Shewa, thank you for making our day and evening - you a truly an inspiration and we are definitely coming back!!! Absolutely gorgeous interior, amazing food and the owner.. simply a legend!!!
Lovely food, lovely environment, lovely host, thank you!
My second time at the Blue Nile and another great meal. I suspect that I'll be coming back time and time again. As a bonus we were offered a doggy bag so I had a lovely meal two nights running.
Really delicious vegetarian option, attentive service,
Refined place! The besr restaurant in woolwich for sure
Food was amazing
Really good experience. Great value and so authentic. You can forget you're in London. The lady who runs the place is fantastic.
Awesome food with yummy flavours, friendly service and great value for money.
Astonishingly wonderful place!!
The Blue Nile has simply wonderful food: very authentic, healthy and tasty. The owner goes to considerable trouble to import Eritrean flour for the Injera and you can really tell.
The service and welcome is without equal anywhere, and the whole package is wrapped up in a superb value for money package.
I can’t recommed this highly enough.
This was a first for the three of us as we popped in to have dinner as the beginning of our night of celebrations for my NZ niece's 19th birthday. We loved the food, the service where we were made to feel welcome and shown how to eat the food in a traditional manner. Lovely time! Definitely coming again for sure!
Beautiful food, brilliant service. Highly recommended.
A wonderful experience with a very helpful waitress who explained how to eat the delicious food.
This restaurant is AMAZING! Very lucky to have it in Woolwich
Great food, lovely ambience, original cuisine. And good value for money too! Really enjoyed the experience and will come back.
Amazing restaurant, tastiest food I have had in a while. Really simple menu but SOO deee-liiciousss.
Would recommend to anyone in the area, perfect local date night evening atmosphere or perfect place for a catch up with friends.
Amazing food, service and night as per usual! Would happily recommend to anyone in London - its mine and my partners favourite restaurant in London and I've lived here for nearly three years!
As usual the food and welcome did not dissapoint. The availability to share differents pots always appeals. Yummy.
I love this place! I particularly like that the wonderful people who run it remember us - and remember our favourite wine.
Love this plac. Authentic rustic and homely with great service by the lovely Shuwa
Fab meal at Blue Nile The hamli and the beef dish were great Lots of injera and free refills on the traditional tea kept us well fed and watered. The tastes were exquisite and the food had us talking about it all day the next day Its a must go destination!
It's one of the friendliest, cosiest restaurants I've been in London and such a a gem to find in Woolwich. I was taken there by a friend and I've taken my friends there ever since. The food is amazing and I've always been made feel so welcomed.
The food was fabulous, just as tasty as we hoped. It lived up to the good reviews we had read prior to the visit. We were really lucky and got a panatone for our birthday celebrations, the owner had put candles on the cake for us, which made it very special and personalised. The owner was also very attentive and asked us if we wanted more food at all the right points. The wine was a lovely Italian wine! In summary, its a great place, great food and great experience. I will be going back. I hope that people support this restaurant because it truly is a local gem.
Great gem in Woolwich. Authentic, and nice atmosphere.
Amazing vegan food, tasty and filling. Great service very friendly and accomodating. Excellent Eritrean tea to finish the meal.
Don't let the outside fool you! I really enjoyed the food! Having spent some significant time in Africa, the inside really brought back memories! I think the decor and atmosphere was well done and the food was excellent. The service was good, speedy and our waitress provided food explanations and suggestions.
We had a lovely meal at Blue Nile. The food was excellent and the service was brilliant. We were made to feel very welcome and will certainly be going back again soon.
A unique dining experience in a fab little restaurant. Anazing flavours and delicious tastes. The service/staff were attentive and friendly. The food was superb. We can't wait to go back!
Lovely conversion of a 1930's high street shop into a friendly and relaxed restaurant. Great value for money.
Easy to find and can park outside on a Sunday. Also free 3 hours parking in Tesco car park opposite Blue Nile. This was an old sausage shop and is decorated with plain white tiles. Modest in appearance but with some rather beautiful Eritrean woven baskets on display as well as photos and posters.
Great menu selection and staff very helpful in advising combinations and how to eat 'sans cutlery' using fingers and their wonderful Injera bread. We chose the mixed Bebiaynetu meat and vegetarian stews that consisted of a mix of 2 meat and 3 vegetarian dishes with an extra basket of rolled Injera pieces. Beautifully spiced, very tasty and rather filling. You can opt for the mild or spicy version - we chose 'mild'. For desert we shared a Tiramasu and Balaklava with Espresso coffees an the bill came to approx. £30 between us (including tip).
Would certainly recommend to friends and will return. We booked in advance for the Sunday lunch, but there were still plenty of spaces. However, we were informed that booking is essential for weekday evening dining when it gets very full.
Amazing food and the service is excellent! The owner has such a caring style towards all her guests.
This place is Woolwich's hidden gem. The food is wonderful and authentic. The atmosphere is like an oasis of calm and peace. Beautiful place to go on a date. Cracking value too! I can't recommended the Blue Nile enough!
As usual a great place for a spur of the moment family dinner. Happily accommodated an extra diner and as always helped suggest menu options for us. Lovely friendly ambiance and a unique menu
Absolutely wonderful and excellent, personal service.
Tasty and different food within a cool venue, friendly service
Absolutely brilliant. Couldn't recommend it enough!
The food was what I expected of an Ethiopian restaurant and delicious at that. You get injera refills to accompany your meal and service is lovely and cosy. Would go back for more.
