The Blue Door is a favorite! The small menu balances tasty indulgences with healthful options. I enjoyed the stuffed peppers today, but have had the quiche, benedict, a burger, salmon, etc., and always enjoy the food. The corn bread is outstanding, we get it for the table.

Thank you, Cynthia! We’re honored to be a favorite of yours. It’s wonderful to hear you’ve enjoyed a variety of dishes—and yes, that cornbread is hard to resist! We truly appreciate your continued visits. The Blue Door Kitchen & Garden Team

A long-time favorite for lunch and dinner dining, Blue Door Kitchen serves very good food by a professional, attentive staff. Warm greeting at the door, and the friendliness continued through the wait staff, and farewell. The decor is charming American rural kitchen in light colors dominated by restful blue. We had crisp-skin salmon, and shrimp and grits with andouille. Solid, unpretentious wine selections. We had a great time. On our visit, an overly-energetic near-by table of three occasionally raised the noise level to uncharacteristically high levels. Usually the noise level is conversation-friendly.

Thank you, Dan, for the thoughtful review! We're grateful to be one of your longtime favorites and thrilled you enjoyed the food, service, and welcoming atmosphere. We appreciate your note on the noise and hope your next visit brings the usual peaceful charm. Looking forward to seeing you again soon! The Blue Door Kitchen & Garden Team

This place is beginning to fall off. It used to be very good and seasoned food. Now, it’s just over price and mediocre. The lamb chops were spoiled, the risotto was unseasoned, overcooked, and cold. The best thing on the menu was the chicken And the seasoning for the chicken came from the hot sauce. I don’t know if they changed cooks or what but get the chefs back.

Lovely restaurant. The garden patio is especiallly pleasant. Sunday brunch. Nice wine by the glass selection. Ordered eggs benedict. Sadly, the eggs were overdone. Service from the waitress was very slow. My white Bordeaux didn’t show up until half way through the meal. Unlike the waitress which rarely came by, the busboys/busgirls (immigrants) circulated regularly, alwyas helpful, clearing empty dishes and responding quickly. I gave each of them a cash tip. I think the restaurant was short waiter staff. This is the first time I have experience such slow, inattentive if friendly service.

I was so looking forward to dinner with a dear friend. The pictures of the setting where idyllic and I’ve heard nothing but great things about the restaurant. Regrettably the food was mediocre at best. The only thing that was any good was the butternut squash soup, which I think is the only thing that had been made fresh or within the last day. My crabcakes or dry, my friend had the pork shank and her dinner she said, tasted like it had been made previously and then been heated up, and it was dry as well. My dessert, which was a cheesecake looked as though it had been store-bought and they added a little and I mean little dollop of whipped cream. My coffee was cold and they never came by to ask if I wanted more. It was a huge disappointment and not worth the money at all.

Everything was great except our table neighbors had quite loud voices, but this was bad luck. The smoked old-fashion cocktail served with smoke inside the glass was unique and subtle: outstanding. The restaurant decor is refined having a nice cozy upper scale vibe. The service was fast, patient and personable. They came up with a cake and candle re the b-day anniversary note. The food was delicious and gourmet. Only good things to say about this restaurant.
