Our waitress was wonderful and the food was delicious. Good selection as well.
The jazz band was excellent. They were a little loud for the space, so maybe have them tone it down a bit next time.
One of our favorite restaurants in Durham...have never been disappointed dining at Blue Corn.
Fantastic friendly, & attentive (but not overly pushy) service. It wasn't super crowded for dinner which we think may be a rarity because we went during the winter holidays when most college students aren't in town. Amazing fish tacos, guacamole, & chicken tinga tacos. Plantains are a must. The salsa was perfect & authentic. Not too spicy, but with some kick.
Fresh margarita was delicious. Our trio bought a pitcher which was more economical. One draw back is that they loaded the pitcher with ice.😕
Evening was terrific up until the end
It was raining. As I sat with my girlfriends I realized water was dripping from a ceiling tile. Unfortunately this had gone unnoticed our entire meal. Water had been dripping into my girlfriend’s purse and down her back.
When we brought it to manager’s attention at first all she could say was how sorry she was.
We pressed on with her to comp my girlfriend’s meal. Reluctantly she (after discussion) that this was the “right” gesture to do.
Not impressed with how she handled it. Our conclusion was it was a typical response from a millennial! Customer satisfaction is #1 in a service industry if you want to stay in the game.
Hopefully the manager will or upon reflection understands that now.
Excellent dining experience in every way!
Our server was super. Food was fast and hot. Great dining experience!
Excellent food and service! Fresh ingredients and extremely tasty. Had the fish tacos and they were nice meaty fish and perfectly cooked.
Our waitress was excellent. Went above and beyond to ensure we had a good experience. Food is good and reasonably priced.
Food was delicious and served promptly. Service was friendly and good. We plan on going back soon.
Our server was very attentive but not overly intrusive. They had a variety of salsas that were interesting that I had never seen before. The silver margaritas were outstanding!
Blue Corn Cafe has been in business for many years. The folks are very welcoming. It is always a pleasure to go there. Even though there were no 5 star individual ratings, I rated it 5 stars overall.
The food and service was excellent!
My fiancée and I came here to celebrate our anniversary of being together! We had a great time at the restaurant. The service was outstanding- the staff was very nice, friendly, and thoughtful with their suggestions. The meals and the portions were quite satisfying, and we loved the ambiance. We will love to be back!
We find that we must try something different every time we visit. Each dish is extremely flavorful and obviously freshly prepared. No microwaved food here! Finding a parking place is difficult (not their fault!) but it is worth taking on that search to enjoy this food. We are particularly fond of the black bean and sweet potato stew and I, personally, love the chicken with plantains.
Delicious food, wonderful service. Really enjoyed the queso with the add-Ins. We will definitely go back.
The service and food is always excellent.
Had excellent food, fast service and an environment amenable to good discussion. Perfect lunch.
This was our second visit here. Very good experience. We will definitely return soon!
Great! Always good
Always consistent and really good!
Emily and Danielle were awesome. Excellent food and chill atmosphere.
My wife and I have found our new Spanish style restaurant. We loved the authentic food and the price.
Needed a place near Page Auditorium for an early dinner before a show at 7 pm. Found this place on OpenTable - one of the few that had an opening at 4:30. We were very pleasantly surprised. Began with a very friendly greeting from the hostess. The place is small and quaint with interesting art on the walls (a Mexican flavor) and 1960's music playing in the background. The waiter arrived promptly despite there being a fair number of other patrons in the dinning room. He help us select our meals (my wife had fiestas and I had Osso Bucco pork). Both were excellent - as was the wine (suggested by the waiter) and the chips and salsa appetizer (which was an after-thought but promptly delivered by the very nice waiter). We will definitely go there again the next time we are in the area (near Duke University).
Excellent food. Worth the drive from west chapel hill. We are both from south florida and love Latin food. This was wonderful and will come back again and again.
The food was great. Lunch portions are very large. Enjoy the variety of vegetarian options. Definitely will eat here again
We had a great celebratory meal... good service.. and were fortunate that it wasn't crowded, so little noise. Good experience all around.
Great time having a wonderful dinner with friends.
Such great service! C.C. was great! Ropa veija is delicious!
This was our first time and we were so impressed. The staff and food were both amazing. We will be back!!
Unique entree choices and meal presentation was terrific. Minimal seasoning on appetizer and sauces so a little on the bland side. Other than that was fantastic.
God food at a reasonable price in a very comfortable, casual at atmosphere. Extensive menu.
The food was just okay. No one in our party thought their food was excellent. The quesadillas were EXTREMELY cheesy and my teens did not like them at all. However, I do not rule out trying it a second time. Perhaps this experience was a “one off.”
Very attentive staff, food was exceptional. We loved the choice of music.
Just not very good food. The fillings for tacos and quesadillas were greasy and bland.
Been here a number of times and recommended it to others. The food is fresh, tasty and unique. Great that it’s a family affair. In addition, a comfortable place where you can talk.
Great platanos sampler. Mole was excellent; I enjoyed the spinach enchilada with mole. The black bean and sweet potato stew could have been more flavorful. Service was friendly and attentive.
I had been before and had a great meal, this time I ordered the special and was surprised that is was not great. Tasted like leftovers. I do apologize, I wish it had been better, I was dinning with a client.
The I he tuna fish taco was outstanding. The sangria was good but should have had fruit in it. The service was excellent.
Fabulous service and good food at sensible prices. We were late and hence tight on time, but had a relaxed meal and made the concert (at Duke) on time.
