Blue Boar Inn & Restaurant
We’ve been there at least four or five times this time for the Wednesday special which is a great deal. I had to tenderloin and my wife had the salmon. Both are wonderful
Food tasted great and was a good value for price paid. Service was excellent. Atmosphere was exceptional
The food and ambiance were amazing. My teenager started crying because she has to go back to college tomorrow and eat college food that is such a letdown after our dinner tonight. Escargot was amazing!
Still believe this is the best eats in PC area.....chef is outstanding and environment memorable. We’ve tried all the top locations and will go back to most.....PC is great for food. But Boars Head ranks as our favorite.
Excellent food, service, ambiance, etc... would highly recommend for lunch or dinner.
Wonderful atmosphere. Food was great. Would love to go back again.
Nice place. The only good part of the meal was the salad and bread
The food at the Blue Boar Inn is consistently very good. Our party of six went for the Chef’s special Wednesday night dinner. Four of us had the salmon, one had the beef and one opted for the pork. All were cooked to perfection, as were the side dishes. We all agreed that the garlic mashed potatoes were especially good.
This restaurant’s only shortcoming is in the training of it’s waitstaff. The young woman who cleared our table stacked so many plates and utensils on top of each other that silverware was falling off the pile and clattering onto the floor; she reached in front of us to hurriedly grab bread plates, in such a way that flung remaining bread into our laps; and generally did her job as though she were working in a fast food joint rather than in a fine-dining establishment, presumably to save on extra trips to the kitchen. This detracts greatly from the overall dining experience, even when the food is so good. I don’t blame the server, she just hasn’t been trained properly, and that is an easily-solved problem.
We always enjoy the Blue Boar, and have taken many friends. Atmosphere is quaint with great service. The food is always hot and served beautifully.
We came for the food. With how many awards Blue Boar has received we expected to be blown away with the food. That expectation wasn't fulfilled. It wasn't bad, but wasn't excellent. Most of the ingredients were of good quality but Many of the dishes lacked flavor over all. Price point doesn't reflect the overall dish experience. Probably won't be visiting again.
Slow service, presentation good, food ok, dining and surrounding rooms interesting wall decorations.
Best and nicest breakfast in Utah! Everything was perfect -- as usual.
Excellent service! The salmon was perfect, the food overall was delicious. It's best to have a reservation, as they also have B&B guests who will take priority over walk-ins.
We love dining and staying here - it's a quaint swiss styled B&B, just far enough from home to feel like we're in a completely different place. While the menu is gourmet, the atmosphere and feel of the place is very relaxed. I wore shorts and I don't think anyone else there was dressed up either. I had the Holsteiner Schnitzel and my wife had the Seared Scallops. We also tried a side of Bucatini Mac & Cheese which was a deliciously heavy rendition of a traditional dish. I can't say that I'd try the Schnitzel again though, but that's not because it was prepared poorly - I just don't like it :) The scallops were cooked to perfection and delicious. We split a Bananas Trifle for desert - yum!!! Service was well-timed and friendly.
We love coming for lunch. It is our favorite place
Excellent as usual!
Friends also thought it was superb!
Our number one most favorite place🤗
We love visiting the Blue Boar in. We've been there several times. My foodie husband says it is the best meal start to finish he's ever had. The chef and staff are very friendly and provide outstanding service
The setting was something out of a traditional Alpine hunting lodge, with gorgeous views of the mountains. But the service and food while in some ways good were in other ways somewhat forgettable. We started with fondue and it was very good - and easily shared by four as a starter course. French onion soup and watermelon salad as second course were also good, but the main courses were overall disappointing. The duck breast was very good for sure, but not at that price. Same with the filet mignon. But what was thoroughly and shockingly disappointing was the pasta bolognese. Over cooked and lacking any flavor. We should have sent it back or asked for another dish but the evening was getting late. Perhaps it’s having a son that’s a chef and having higher standards, but we were stunned that a restaurant of this caliber could serve something so incredibly tasteless. Moreover, the service was at best mediocre. The place wasn’t even half full and we found ourselves having to search for a server. At these prices they should be better
Blue Boar Inn is our favorite restaurant. We always enjoy the food and we love the quiet atmosphere and beauty!
The staff was very knowledgeable and accommodating.
We were celebrating my husband's birthday along with a meal, of coarse.
Always delicious food and great service! We eat here every year during our July 4th visit to Heber Valley.
The restaurant is beautiful and full of interesting art and various collections. We dined there on a Wednesday evening which is the day they have a price fixed menu.
It was a 3 course meal with great choices. The food was delicious and the portions artfully presented as well as ample. I would definitely recommend this restaurant!
Once again Chef Eric May and team delivered. Drove up for Sunday brunch with my wife , aunt from out of state and my mom and dad. My wife and I have been here before. The others have not. My aunt said it was the most enjoyable thing she's done since coming out here. My parents were pleasantly surprised. Thanks again for creating great memories for our family.
Amazing place far from the hustle and bustle of Salt Lake. Looking forward to our next visit!
Our favorite restaurant in Utah. Eric is an exceptional chef and the staff are well trained, polite and professional. We love the Blue Boar and go there several times each year.
Always great service. Wednesday fixed price menu is excellent vallue
Fine dining at a reasonable price in a quaint venue
Excellent service and the food was awesome My wife and I wanted a quiet getaway and we found it
Excellent quality of food. Ambiance is very good. Service attentive.
Always great food, superb service and excellent ambiance. Eric May is a very good chef, and his menu is always interesting. We love the Blue Boar.
Celebration dinner for my wife's birthday and a place we often treat for special moments. Have stayed here in the past for overnight's, including New Years Eve, which also happens to coincide with our wedding anniversary. Highly recommend this place and will return again in the near future for another celebration!
Incredible food and great atmosphere. just wish we had a bit more light
Always a fabulous meal. The salmon is wonderful but my favorite is the chicken with spatzal
One of the most romantic experiences I know. For an extra special treat book a night in one of their rooms.
Great atmosphere, wonderful experience! Thank you!
I ordered Buttermilk Griddle Cakes on March 14, 2019. It appeared that the kitchen did not have real buttermilk, so they made their own using regular milk, and vinegar. The pancakes tasted like they had way too much vinegar! In addition, the restaurant did not have any fresh fruit options. My plate was "decorated" with 1/4 strawberry, and a half of an orange slice very thinly sliced. Such a disappointment.
We came for the Chef’s 3-Course dinner special last Wednesday and were delighted with the experience. It’s a great value as the food was delicious and the service outstanding. We will definitely be back.
