Great dining experience. Delicious cocktails and food.
The food was very good, well prepared & well served. They also have a nice wine list. Our server was fair & a bit snotty acting as if he knew everything about everything. He would be a reason for us not to return.
Great meal and the cocktails were fantastic. Thank you Madelyn and Jake!
I brought my husband here for a birthday dinner and he loved it! Chris and Jake were amazing... very knowledgeable and passionate about getting it right for the customer. The food was delicious (we did the 5 course tasting) and everything came out hot and quick. We will definitely be back!
We had a lovely time. Definitely looking forward to returning!
Absolutely love this place. The wait staff are so accommodating and very helpful with cocktail selection based on your palate. The experience is awesome - they give you plenty of time between courses and are exceptionally friendly, make you feel very welcome. I've never had a bad meal or drink here. Would highly recommend the 5 course option! Kick back and relax into some great conversation, always a memorable evening.
An experience and a fabulous meal. We will be back again.
This place is exceptional. Food was memorable and service was perfect. Well timed, well balanced - just amazing. We will always get the tasting menu with harmonious wine pairings…what a wonderful way to enjoy flavors and a date night. Finally - the COVID-19 precautions they took were awesome. Hand sani tableside? Calm chefs and staff masked? Thank you!
We had the five course tasting menu and it was all perfectly presented and prepared.
Wonderful dinner and incredibly tasty cocktails.
It does truly take 2 hours to have the full meal, but the timing of the dishes is perfect and honestly, exactly how a fine dinner should be experienced.
Tried the 5-course tasting dinner for the first time. Food was fantastic and the service was great! Wonderful experience and great place to go with another couple.
The most amazing dining experiences I have had in St. Louis. I ordered the 5 course tasting and everything single dish was delicious.
We came in to try the tasting menu which featured Kangaroo Bourguignon and it was incredible. There’s a lot of other fun dishes on their fall/winter menu and as always, great cocktails! Thanks for the wonderful time! We will definitely be back!
By far one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in St Louis. Excellent cocktails, excellent food, fantastic service, and very knowledgeable staff. Wine pairings with 5 course meal were spot on. Ambiance was a perfect blend of old world and modern - so unique. Nice jazz playing in the background, just the right volume so as not to be intrusive to conversation. A little pricey, but absolutely worth it considering the quality of the overall experience. We will definitely be making another trip here in the future.
Great experience! Not in our everyday budget, but definitely a great special occasion place.
Service was very bad. Felt very rushed. Not worth the very expensive bill.
Amazing for cocktails
Outstanding experience. Cocktails are fun, inventive and worth the $. Our server was knowledgeable and personable. Service was well timed and added to the overall ambiance. Highly recommend.
The food and drinks were lights out. The service left something to be desired. It took over 40 minutes from when we were seated to get a drink despite it being sparsely populated on a Tuesday night. They did not have two separate bottles of $100+ of champagne and were unaware so it took them forever to figure out which bottles were in stock.
The food was good- but for a $90/person Five Course Tasting Menu, I want way better than “good”. I had high hopes for this place- cool vibe, interesting menu, but the food was just- good. Not worth the $$$.
Wonderful as always, a must try place. Anytime, always updating their menu.
Great food and even better cocktails. Menu was innovative and unique. Highly recommend.
The food is excellent, although overpriced as in any US restaurant -- what you would eat in Italy or Spain for 30-40$ you eat here for $100. To put it differently -- you pay $100+ for an accurate meal here whereas in Madrid of Venice for that price you would eat in a Michelin star restaurant. Still, great food.
One thing the owners may want to work on is the noise. One doesn't pay that money to be barely able to speak due to boom-boom disco-dance music pumped up at crazy volumes. We didn't leave just because we had no other reservations. It got much better during dinner because the music changed to more mellow tunes. But it's insane that we had to ask, and it's insane that we were answered "the volume is set this way and cannot go down". Who would set it that high in a fancy cozy dinner place to begin with???
Despite all this, I got some of the best food I have had in STL so I may return.
went to blood & sand for a date with my fiancé and was highly impressed. the moroccan oxtails did not stand a chance. i’m fact, i now have a membership here because it was that good. Highly Recommend!
Jacob our server was awesome. He showed us some great new foods and drinks. The music was great and the staff was very accommodating.
My wife and I made reservations at Blood and Sand for our anniversary dinner last evening. We had found them on the internet after searching for a place with a good tasting menu. We noticed that they had a 10 course tasting menu that sounded pretty good and would give us the chance to try a bunch of new things. When we arrived we realized that the vibe was a little more hip and loud than we would typically go for but that was ok. We were seated at a small bar table near the bar which wasn't great but still not terrible. We read over the menu that was provided and didn't see the 10 course option so we asked the waiter. We were then informed that we would have to have notified them ahead of time of we wanted to do that option, even though it says on their website is available until 9pm on Friday and no where does it mention to let them know beforehand. That was very disappointing but they did have a 5 course tasting menu so we decided to go with that and make the best of it. After getting through the first couple of courses, we were kind of relieved that they didn't have the 10 course because the food was pretty underwhelming. There were a couple dishes like the leek and potato chowder that was decent but most was pretty meh, even the dessert. We ordered a couple drinks which took forever to get and were just ok. All in all it definitely was not worth the $300 we spent for dinner and will stick to The Crossing in Clayton next time we want a tasting menu.
I really love your cocktails but I wish you had more vegetarian options.
A hidden gem in the absolutely terrific STL food scene. The food was delicious and service was wonderful. A beautiful restaurant. It was our first time at Blood & Sand but definitely not our last.
Fun and interesting menu selections,
Great service, wine pairings were perfection!
The staff was so friendly and knowledgeable, they helped us with cocktails that fit our palate profiles and Cyril was spot on once we described what we like.
The food was amazing!! We had two orders of sweet breads because after finishing the first it was so good we needed another. Also get the tots, I know you are thinking that they are tots why would I get them but trust me they are worth it!
We hope to come back and get the tasting menu and try more seasonal cocktails.
The ten course tasting menu was great and the service phenomenal!
From wisconsin in town for the night and Did the tasting menu and wow everything was amazing thank you
Great 5 course tasting menu with wine parings. Each course had two or more options. Service was good to allow the flow of the meal. The music is a little too loud and bar-like for fine dining which detracted, slightly, from the experience.
We will plan to return and note in our booking that we want the 10 course Tasting Menu as this needs advanced notice.
Lovely venue overall.
Service was good. Wish I could say the same about the food. We started with two appetizers, one of which was mussels. Three of the mussels weren’t opened Two out of the four of us ate little of our entrees. Server asked but everything was OK and when I shared a little disappointment, he was not going to continue to accommodate us.
Fantastic experience as always!
Wonderful dishes in the 5 course meal. Terrific drink selection. Great for a special occasion or dinner with friends
We love coming to Blood and Sand. The ambience is always good, there is always something new on the menu that we haven't tried yet and the cocktails are second to none!
The entire experience was phenomenal! Raven was our server and she was fantastic. From recommendations to her attentiveness and service. There is a wonderful atmosphere and vibe to the establishment. Wonderful decor and ambiance. The food was fantastic. The 5 course tasting was perfect to get variety and still feel satisfied at the end. The drink selection is top notch and the crafting is superb. I look forward to returning as soon as possible.
Very complex menu but very good food. I wanted something to challenge my taste buds but this was my least favorite experience. The main entree of kangaroo loin did not taste fresh and had a rancid odor. I have had kangaroo tartar here previously and it was fabulous.
Our server Chris was such a pleasure. He was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the menu. The ambiance was terrific for a ~fancy~ evening. Will definitely go back.
A great restaurant for casual-dress special occasions. The food and drink selections are probably some of the most unique in St. Louis. Although somewhat casual, it's not for those who don't want to invest in their food.
