Maintained great ambiance even with a busy Friday night! Food as always great ( had the burger from the bar menu; grilled onions just right) Nicole was her usual exceptional self! Paced courses perfectly and knew exactly when to appear just as our cocktail glasses emptied. Cozy, friendly, and great food!

Was excited to luck into the chefs table while out in St Louis visiting. As a Las Vegas girl, I was so surprised to find such a gem outside of my home city. The food was absolutely amazing, and the portions on a 7 course meal tasting were so much more than I could have imagined. If you have the wine tasting, it paired perfectly and is greatly priced for the value of wine. The services were above and beyond. I felt truly spoiled, and everyone was so kind. The design of the room was simple eleganance at its best, and I really should have walked around more but was so full. I'm glad I didn't drink too much or that the front door would have made me turn around and come right back to the bar. The only issue I had all night was getting an Uber because of the eclipse and the cardinals game, so if downtown, plan ahead. Thank you for helping non locals feel at home for a night. Waited since 2019 to come and will not wait that long to return again.

nothing was bad but multiple starters and multiple a la carte entrees just had execution issues. Crispy things were not crispy, they were oil soaked and chewy. truffle oil unevenly doused on the tater tots made some good and some taste like well truffle oil... Ended up skipping both mains and desserts and paid for a better second dinner. More than half of the online menu and food pictures throughout all the online places were not things that were on the menu or available. The entire experience felt like keep the lights on food, not elevated or sophisticated or palate pleasing. I understand there was a recent change of ownership leading to the shift from artisanal high quality to cost cutting.

Dear Basic, There are many "basic" untruths. First, I have been the sole owner since 2016 with no cost cutting nor management changes. We advertise recent dishes showing our style, but the menu changes weekly. A seasoned diner checks the restaurant's website, which was/is accurate. Lastly, you say," multiple a la carte entrees just had execution issues", but "Ended up skipping both mains". So...you reviewed entrees you didn't eat? There are none on your ticket either. That said, unless you feel Kangaroo tartar, Elk chops, Poussin, Sweetbreads, and Skei Cod on the current (4/9/24) menu are "keep the lights on food, not elevated or sophisticated or palate pleasing", then let us know where you dine. Unfortunately, you've chosen to hide your other reviews, and we think the reasons are clear.

John hosting in his sartorial splendor. Brian in the kitchen cooking up delicious dishes. Ashley rocking the cocktails. Nicole, the best in town, serving table side. What more could a person want?!?

Outstanding food and unpretentious atmosphere. Worth every penny for the multi-course meal and wine pairing. Will definitely go back and am considering becoming a member.
