Such a special night. Sat on patio and the sunset was spectacular. Food was delicious, service was great and we really enjoyed ourselves! We will be back!
Dinner with good friends
Perfect evening!!! We plan to return tomorrow evening. We arrived a half hour early...we had to navigate the gondola with our dog..and wanted to allow plenty of time. The restaurant host directed us to the patio bar next door....until the restaurant was open. The setting, service & wine were on point. We moved on to the restaurant and were seated at a nice table on the patio for dinner. The entire experience was perfect & our dog was very welcome.
We had the chicken and veg dinner for two a week ago and it was great. Decided to have halibut last night and neither the halibut or vegs were that good. In fact vegs were cold and halibut was a little dry.
We ate there again today to have the fried chicken we had recently. Again chicken was not as good as previously. Has something changed i.e. no chef
Greatest for outdoor dining with fantastic ambience, gas warmers if necessary (and they look great even if not needed for heat!), and exceptional servers and service. One of our favorites not only on mMountain Village (where it it the best, hands down) but I Telluride as well.
Hi it's great
We absolutely love Black Iron. It is a must every visit to Telluride. We celebrated my husband’s birthday with our 3 kids and we were all treated so special and well.
Fresh and delicious! Great ambiance and great food!
Drinks don't have much strength and are overpriced. Food isn't bad. Chef takes simple food and complicates it. Half our table thought it was mediocre and the other half thought it was pretty good. I was on the pretty good side of the vote. I'd come back and even recommend it if someone else was paying, but their food prices are crazy expensive for their shared dishes. $200 for a shared entre! Maybe Telluridians are used to paying ridiculous prices but even if they lowered their prices by 30% they'd be on the high end of the quality they deliver. Al Fresco dining was designed as an after-thought and they could lower their music volume for concrete sidewalks. Much too loud to have an enjoyable conversation.
Great experience except I was very disappointed I couldn’t get a yogurt off the breakfast menu for my very picky son. Ended up having to go next door to get him a slice of pizza as he wouldn’t eat anything from the kids menu.
Disappointing dinner. Delicious breakfast. Service was inattentive and apathetic and brought appetizers and sides at once. Dinner highlight was Harry who handles the wine. Breakfast was delicious. Great coffee and food. Service marginally better.
The food was delicious and the ambience is perfect.
The "For the Table" entrees were amazing. We dined with our four young adult kids (6 people totaL) who can eat A LOT. We ordered the Halibut and Ribeye and our one son got the 1/2 lb. Wagyu Burger. We had MORE than enough food. The environment was great.. we would have preferred to eat outside but the inside was great too.
Great spot for a nice dinner with the family. They have a kids' menu that had a nice variety.
Delicious- loved it. Great service too.
We always order the halibut fir two. Maybe the best fish dish in all of Telluride. Corn soup was also very good. We are regulars, took friends for their first visit, they loved it.
Harry was so welcoming and engaging. We had a very minimal wait for our food. The duck and halibut were delicious! Next time in Telluride, we’ll dine here for sure.
Very much enjoyed the outdoor seating with views of the mountain village, we only ate breakfast but the lemon pancakes with raspberries were “fluffy” and tasted awesome! The breakfast burrito and potatoes were also outstanding!
Fantastic food and service!! Wish we could have sat outside but my husband… oh well. Inside was great! Their salads are delicious. Our son had elk for the first time and loved it. The pork porterhouse was so good.
Beautiful location in Telluride, with a wonderful outside. Service was a bit slow, but that is to be expected during the current labor shortage issues.
It was excellent!!!!
Server was extremely nice. Bar was backed up and we got our drinks after we got our food. Food wasn’t anything to write home about- especially for the price.
Delicious food. Great atmosphere.
It was perfect!
The type of music played for dinner guest outdoors was not appropriate. The team was short staffed but did a good job trying to pay attention to all guests. They had more tables than they could handle. The food was well prepared but over priced for the value. There are many restaurants in telluride that deliver a better experience for the money ( The National, 221 Oak, The Sheridan) to name a few. They should either reduce prices or up there game but the current formula doesn’t work long term.
Excellent atmosphere, drinks, outdoor seating, and food
We actually ate there 2 times in 1 week for dinner. First the waiters were great...had different one each night.. The food is delicious. I liked the variety of choices. if you want to eat little you can or or have a fancy steak dinner. One night we did a bowl of chili and my husband had a hamburger. Both excellent. Then our last night in Telluride we shared a large steak. this was a wagu steak and was awesome with a beautiful presentation.
So I liked the variety of choices. The service was great. Thank you for 2 great evenings in Telluride.
I reserved an outside table for 7:15. We were sat at 8pm.🤨
Our waiter amazingly got all of our orders correct while pouring wine and w/out writing them down. 😃. It took over an hour to get our food, and our waiter never stopped by to see if we needed anything or to apologize for the wait.😒. I would have thought he might bring some bread or an amaisbuce to occupy us while we waited? Then, when the food did come, 5 of our 6 dishes were cold! No one stopped by the table to see “if everything was prepared to our liking”; and after a few minutes of looking for an employee, we ate - as by this point, we WERE starving. I know town is short on employees, but this wasn’t handled well at all.
I got the check when I was not even done with my dessert. Too soon.
Felt kicked out
Food was OK, little overcooked. Service and waitstaff was incredible. Definitely ask for Peter as your waiter.
Evidently the they were short staffed. Appetizers were great but our main dishes came out cold. We ended up leaving without eating our mains. The manager was very apologetic and worked hard to make it right however
Meal and ambiance was great. A great way to experience the village
Peter did a great job taking care of us and we had an amazing dinner!
4th of July so open air party was right next door. Good food but very pricey for a plate of roasted vegetables that were basically all carrots.
Our server was great. Seemed they were under staffed. Food was fantastic, however the prices were really high.
Waited for a long time before we got our dinner! Had to ask for bread as we were extremely hungry after hiking!
The dessert menu looked very appetizing but when we were done with dinner- we were told the kitchen was closed and dessert is not an option!
Not sure it was worth the time and money! Will try another restaurant next time
Zoltan is FANTASTIC! He was super swamped but still took the time to ensure we had everything. Friendly and thoughtful!
The music was almost intolerable. 60’s and 70’s rock and roll genre with the incessant screaming and whining coupled with being much too loud, did not lend itself to a great experience.
This place has something fir everybody.
If you sit outside dress warm. The family style by strip was amazing along with there halibut.
Zoltan was fantastic - friendly and attentive!! Thanks so much!
