Our server was excellent and she made sure we were well taken care of. We did not like having to seat in the bar area but we were told that was the only area open at the time.

Couldn't ask for a better birthday party for my wife. The cowboy cookie was just perfect. The waitress was on the spot and checked on us often. We've been coming to Black Angus El Cajon for decades. Good job!

our server was Kayla D. This was the 2nd or 3rd time we have had her what a delight to have a waitress that knows how to treat customers she remembers our drink orders is very attentive to our needs.

Our waitress Ashley Toyer provided us amazing customer service and we even got a large cookie with ice cream at the end because we were celebrating our anniversary. The manager Erika, provided us amazing customer service. We had the Wrangler steak plate with grilled shrimp and BBQ chicken and two side orders, with ALL food amazingly great.

Prime rib was delicious, waitress very nice & attentive. Always had really good meals at this BA. Used to go there for lunch often & only had maybe one bad experience with a waitress that was in lala land.....

Not our best experience at Black Angus. The salmon was dry and the soup was way too watery. We joked that it was called "potato" soup instead of "potatoes" soup because there was one single piece of potato. Also, the au jus was INEDIBLE. It tasted like burnt coffee. I'm not sure if they've changed cooks, but the food was definitely not up to par. Having said that, the service was good and the atmosphere was also nice. Also, we like the $16.00 off Campfire Feast. (Although $4 to add the Wagon Wheel Sampler is excessive. $3 was plenty.) Hopefully they'll go back to $3. We'll probably continue to go there, but when we pay $85 for food (including tip), we expect a better experience.

Went with my husband and son for our weekday dinner. We sat at a booth in the bar area and it was great. We felt sorry for the waitress though there was a drunk guy that kept harassing her anytime she went near our area. Unfortunately for us she avoided coming over to our table because of it so we didn’t get drink refills. Not faulting the waitress at all. She did great putting a smile on her face and tolerating the annoying customer. Not sure if he was an employee as he kept going behind the bar often to grab things but no one said anything to him.
My observation was that he was also under the influence of something else as he was getting up and pacing every few minutes and talking to himself. The guy was creepy. He made our dinner time a bit unpleasant as we kept an eye on him for our safety as well as the waitress.
As for the food, it was tasty and came the way we ordered it. Would come back again.

Soup and Salads came out with our food. Food wad forgotten and was under cooked sent back and came back looking like it hadn’t even been put back on the grill. Plates left on the table when dessert was brought out with no silverware.

Eat here frequently. Have had good meals. This time the steak was close to inedible.so much gristle and fat that less than 1/3 was able to be eaten.

I had to send my steak back three times. First one too much gristle in a filet. Second and third times over done. The fourth steak was still overdone but I was done trying. No compensation or much of an apology.

Excellent prime rib!! Very welcoming staff. Tracy was great. The manager came over and chatted with us for several minutes - he was very sincere in making sure we had a wonderful experience.

Party of 7. Celebrated a birthday anniversary. Everyone was very supportive. Great table side service and the Manager checked on us often. Food came out on time, hot and tasty. Good selection of small batch Bourbon. We had the Woodford. Alas, they were out of Drambuie so no Rusty Nail. Best horseradish ever to go along with the Prime Rib. PS. Free B-Day Cookie!

We love the food here and the staff is wonderful! The only thing that keeps bumming us out is the dessert Cookie - please cook it thoroughly. Many occasions now our kids get a half frozen cookie. (This doesn’t stop us from coming back to the delish food & bread) Thank you!!

Wow! It seems like they charge extra for everything. $1.50 for Teriyaki sauce and $4 for Filet Mignon (which I understand and is okay with me). But, they added $1.99 for everything on the baked potato - that seems a little excessive to me.

Otherwise, food was good as usual. Glad they're back.

Our waitress was great and the staff too. I splurged on a steak dinner, and usually I don’t complain, but I ordered a medium rare steak, and it was cooked medium well almost well done. It wasn’t good. I am used to going here as a treat. I will say, the waitress brought me out a new steak that was very good, but everything else on my plate was cold. Disappointed.

I think eating outdoors made the ambience feel less like a steakhouse and more like a casual cafe. The portions were average, except the lobsters were very small, which explains the price. The server was amazing and did everything he could to make sure we had a great experience. But I think I will explore other steak houses for next time.
