Delicious brunch breakfast. Very cool vibe and ambiance. Highly recommended
Finding it was part of the pleasure and the surprise. The contrast between the almost neglected, post-industrial exterior - with NO SIGNAGE at all - and the buzzing, vibrant interior is really cool and very entertaining. The food was ace and very innovative, the staff were really helpful and charming, the wine list was short but comprehensive; altogether a very relaxed and satisfying place to eat and talk and people-watch. We loved it!
Food and cocktails were great, room overall was very noisy with loud piano music, although so nice to have live piano music! The stand out for me was excellent service and flexibility for 2 people dining with an allergy/intolerance list as long as your arm! Made us feel very comfortable!!
Had a great meal. Restaurant was lively while still be able to talk comfortably. Waitress was attentive when needed.
Long wait to be seated (and we had a reservation!) and long wait to be served and between dishes..we started eating the main after an hour of have been sat.
It was a pity though, because the food was amazing!
Very good experience this time, we had a lovely waiter and the food was wonderful (soft shell crab benedicts were outstanding). Drinks as well, really nothing to complain about.
I understand they cannot please everyone, however, if we could get a table closer to the piano next time that would fantastic (especially that we booked in advance/ seat unorganised walk-in people at the back :)), because all the glamour and magic just disappeared when you sat us at the back and it just all sounded like an underground station.
Other than that wonderful.
Went for brunch which was amazing. Crab Benedict is a great dish in addition to the oysters.
Pancakes were good too. Nice relaxed atmosphere with a live pianist.
Really misleading menu for vegetarians / vegans! BE WARNED! I asked if the chips were cooked in vegetable oil, the waiter told me yet but that they're cooked in the same fryer as the beef. I then had ordered many vegetarian dishes to which, after much back and forth we worked out WERE NOT vegetarian as they were all cooked alongside the meat. There are no V or VG markings near the food and I felt incredibly mislead. If you don't eat meat be very careful with this restaurant and ensure you ask your waiter/waitress what exactly IS V or VG!!
Delicious food and a great selection of wine and a friendly service! Thank you very much. Zurab
We loved our experience...the waiter, David, was attentive and kind...generous and accommodating. We loved the piano medley that ran.the gamut from Beatles to Bowie...and the food!!! Amazingly good. Wish we could return on a regular basis!
We booked a last minute, late night table & were so glad that we came here.
I had 2 of the nicest vegetarian dishes that I've ever had - tempura cabbage with parsley mayo & salt baked beetroot with hazlenuts & roasted garlic. My husband had meal envy even though he loved his ricotta dumplings followed by fish & chips.
The restaurant is tricky to find from the street, especially as there are no signs, but look for a white brick courtyard & follow your nose!
Amazing food & friendly knowledgeable staff. Go!
The food here has been excellent the last few times we visited for dinner and this time was no exception. This was our first brunch here and the menu was short but well done and the prices are reasonable given the quality of the food.
Although the open plan space means it's a very light atmosphere it can make the restaurant a little noisy. But the service is prompt and friendly though not overly so.
Came for my boyfriends birthday for brunch, had such a lovely meal and really great cocktails. We loved the piano player too. Would come again. Thank you!
The food was outstanding, the décor was fabulous, the only negative was that the service was quite slow. Otherwise, I recommend, great brunch and great ambiance!
my fav brunch in london! cant recommend this enough
I hadn’t been to Bistroteque for a number of years but was glad to find nothing had changed in that time. We had a lovely meal with excellent service set in a casual atmosphere- predinner cocktails were great too :)
Starters were just OK und unimpressive/bland in our view (tempura cabbage, breaded squash), mains somewhat better (steak tartare, cod) and the desserts excellent (panacotta, chocolate fondant). Also excellent service. The ventilation in the restaurant area was very poor (which I pointed out to the server). Interesting venue but the food could be somewhat more interesting, overall in our view. The 3 course menu is excellent value for money, though. Wine list was fine. I hope this helps
Great food, great service and great ambience. I've been coming here for years and it has been good every time. Highly recommend!
Amazing food and service- especially serving 3 courses with less than hour so we could make it for the show after
We went for brunch
The avocado and eggs had FAR too much tobacco sauce put on it which made the dish quite bland
I hope they review this
Otherwise it’s a great place and experience e
Amazing venue with a great atmosphere. The service was on point with food to match. -A little on the fancier side but without any pretentiousness and well worth it the extra ££!
Amazing brunch with live piano playing in the background and great ambience.
Came to Bistrotheque for a belated Valentines Day. Extremely impressed by the meals, service, and ambiance. Highly recommend for a special occasion!
All good . Service particularly good, attentive and knowledgable without being intrusive or overbearing. Only quibble was that the roasted new potatoes were a little " carbonised " .
But a good night out and I hope will return .
A regular here for the 3 course £29 deal before 7pm. Never had a bad meal here, or even a bad course. Great food and always a few appealing choices on the menu!
Always love my time here ! its feels like home form home x
Food was great. Service was a bit rushed - felt like they wanted our table from us. We ordered coffees after our brunch and the bill came with our coffees, basically letting us know it's time to go.
We celebrated my daughter's 21st birthday with you last Saturday and we thought the whole experience was fabulous. We loved the venue and the food was superb. Our waitress was super friendly and the service was excellent. We will definitely be coming back and have already recommended it to friends. Thank you so much for making it such a memorable occasion.
Food was excellent, atmosphere very welcoming. A real hidden gem (its hard to find the entrance)!
very very noisy brunch...and the pianist in that noise is quite useless. Very good food and service.
Great food, quite rich (being classic French bistro based) and large portions. Friendly service with great wine advice. I'm sure these guys were early adopters of industrial decor, but it's looking a bit old now: all white, exposed girders and aircon etc etc. That's a minor gripe as it's still a nice airy space, not too noisy for couples and not too quiet for larger groups.
We had a brilliant meal at Bistrotheque - it’s a real hidden gem off of Cambridge Heath Road. The food was delicious, the service was impeccable and the Prix Fixe menu offered incredible value. Highly recommend!
Lovely service, great place. Highly recommend. Thanks bistrotheque x
Bistroteque has always been a family favourite to share special days or even just for casual get-togethers. We know it is impossible to have anything but a wonderful dining experience here 100% of the time. The new menu was fabulous , the leek pie was to die for and the crispy roast potatoes were mouthwateringly delicious. Can’t wait to return!
I had the tartare steak, which I am a big fan of, but the Bistrotheque version had a lot of pickled condiments in it and capers which I am not a big fan of. So disappointing , especially due to its price. I should have checked before, good fries and salad with.
Should have sticjed to the Bistrotheque BreakfaT!
Amazing food. Steak tartare tar is to die for. Not cheap but well worth for an occasion
We were not very sure about this dinning.. we have been here before a few times. This time the beef rump heart is so difficult to chew and our crisp potato is totally burnt and tasted bitter. The waitress very kindly replace us but we almost finished our main at that time so it's a bit weird to just have potato together with nothing. The service was good, but I m not sure what's happened with chef.. or maybe it's the way they cook but we didn't get the point??
Something went wrong. This is a great place usually. A fabulous space, great atmosphere. But we had what I can honestly say was one of the worst meals I've eaten at a restaurant in many years. We decided to order six of the starters and share them amongst us. Apart from the deep-fried ricotta balls (which were delicious) all the other dishes were inedible. Badly-prepared, slimy and tasteless. For example, the burnt cabbage side dish was crudely chopped, both scorched and raw at the same time, and swimming in a sea of tasteless oil. The crab starter was suspiciously fishy-smelling with large pieces of raw apple and a tasteless mayonnaise. I could go on. It was dreadful. HOWEVER, on being given our honest feedback, the manager was solicitous and removed all the food from our bill, which we greatly appreciated. Nevertheless, it was such a terrible experience I'd have to be strong-armed ever to return.
Good but impersonal service. The food was a solid average, nothing mind blowing, nothing awful (however the ricotta ball starter was whey too sweet and the portion size was much too large). The large open plan space of the restaurant leads to a slightly cattle market feel, i think some segregating areas wouldn't go a miss just to stop it feeling like a hipster fancy school canteen. Although I have no huge gripes about the place I think it over charges for what is never going to be any kind of special dining experience and so doesn't deliver good value. There's a lightness and care missing around the whole place.
Booked a table for my birthday, the only downside was the atmosphere - it was a Monday night so I can understand it being a bit empty but it would have been nice if some music had been playing to liven the place up a bit. My food was terrific, my brother’s rump steak was too salty but the staff kindly offered to take it off the bill. Side Salad could have done with a more tasty dressing as it just had oil and no vinegar. Service was great, atentive staff and I appreciated the little candel on my dessert!
