The menu is an exercise in simplicity, common sense and good taste under the watchful eye of Head Chef Blaine Duffy

Great brunch menu and cocktails. Buzzy yet relaxed vibe but bit noisy.. acoustics of a converted warehouse! Couldn't really have a conversation without shouting! Was VERY hot sat next to kitchen.. Air-con not working. Staff very polite and helpful. Would recommend..
fantastic food, not mega cheap but really worth it for a special occasion.
Service was good, atmosphere nice though not buzzing (lot of empty tables even though it was Friday night). Starters were great, main was hugely disappointing for what we were expecting to be a great dining experience - over cooked, bland chicken and bland fish and chips. Would not go again or recommend
Lovely waitress attended us and the casual option we went for (beef burger) was delicious. However the starter and dessert although good didn't live up to the foodie standards the restaurant seems to be striving for. A little more authenticity, a little less pretentiousness and a little better value for money would boost the profile in my view.
They need to get rid of the piano player it gave me a headache and the songs were musical theatre.
Food was average
Have been to Bistrotheque a few times previously and had rated it highly in terms of food, service and ambience but it looks to have gone down hill a bit based on this visit. The food was poor, the fish looked like it was close to being out of date, they didn't have many items that were listed on the menu and the place was pretty empty.
One of my favourite spots for Brunch in London. Nice interior and live piano music.
Top notch, as ever, every visit to Bistroteque is a winner. The food, drink, service and atmosphere are all excellent. I took my parents on Saturday evening for the first time and they absolutely loved it. The standout dish for me was the roast cod, the peppery emulsion was off the amazing.
Really over-rated. Over priced drinks and average food in a quite cool (but odd) location.
Wonderful food but very noisy
Had a great Saturday morning brunch!
Considering it wasn’t that busy the service was awful, I’ve been twice before now and loved it but the menu has been changed since and although the food is still great the menu has gone away from its usual simple brunch memo to something a bit edgy but not in keeping with a really brunch menu in my opinion.
They had also run out of bacon by 1pm on a Sunday, considering most of the options had bacon in them it was rather annoying.
The venue is charming, however a little bit noisy.
I've often been for brunch, and I love it. Dinner was great too and excellent value with the three-course deal. I'll recommend, and it's one of my favourites spots in east London.
Industrial chic vibe. Good drinks and delicious eggs Benedict
Two of the table ordered the chicken which was so laced with garlic it ruined the dishes of the other diners. This is a brunch menu so two diners had taken the pancake option which was sweet and I had the fish which was awful when surrounded by wafts of garlic.
Service was great.
Elegant and delicious brunch, truly gorgeous food. A word to the wise - it's in an unmarked building down a side street in Bethnal Green, so can be difficult to find if you've never been before, and you'll probably feel desperately uncool. Service was extremely efficient but not particularly friendly or engaged. I called up as a courtesy to let the staff know I was running 10 minutes late to my booking and was told in a chilly tone: 'Well, your time limit on your table is 90 minutes, so you'll just have less time to eat, so it's all up to you really' - ouch! However, the brunch menu is chic and delicious, classic with some extravagant twists - my fiance had the Bistrotheque Breakfast, and I had the buttered corn with fried eggs, both big portions and beautifully cooked. The price was very reasonable for two meals, a side of toast, three coffees and two gorgeous fresh orange juices. Overall a gorgeous special occasion brunch!
Amazing as always!
Perfect meal and setting.
The early 3 course deal is excellent value.
This was my 5/6 visit. Wonderful food! Absolutely faultless. We went on a Sunday evening for a date, it was pretty quiet, no music and no vibes. What it lacked in ambience it made up for with yummy culinary delights. The cocktails were good too and the white wine was chilled to perfection on a very hot day. Our meal for 2 ce in at £230 which isn’t cheap, but worth it.
We love Bistrotheque for a weekend brunch - they have a wonderful pianist on Sundays and the food is always excellent. We went recently to celebrate getting engaged that day and not only were the staff just as excited as we were, they very kindly gave us a complimentary glass of prosecco to celebrate. They made a special day even more special.
Really good service, super attentive. Food was lovely, portions were very big. All in all very nice.
Front of house and service was great! Well presented and tasty food. Plum sorbet was delicious.
As usual worth the money very nice place
Lovely meal celebrating our wedding anniversary. We were regulars in the days when Bistroteque first opened and the food, service and ambience is just as brilliant as it was in it's early days. Highly recommended.
Very good food and service and the fixed price menu (ordered before 7pm) was good value. At other times the price of the food is quite expensive.
I really enjoyed the brunch food and drinks. The restaurant was helpful catering to my dietary requirements. The live pianist was also a good addition.
The service at times felt slightly rushed and the piano finished mid afternoon which also made us feel that the brunch was officially over when we were happy relaxing and continuing with drinks. I enjoyed it overall but felt it was slightly overpriced.
Delicious brunch breakfast. Very cool vibe and ambiance. Highly recommended
Finding it was part of the pleasure and the surprise. The contrast between the almost neglected, post-industrial exterior - with NO SIGNAGE at all - and the buzzing, vibrant interior is really cool and very entertaining. The food was ace and very innovative, the staff were really helpful and charming, the wine list was short but comprehensive; altogether a very relaxed and satisfying place to eat and talk and people-watch. We loved it!
Food and cocktails were great, room overall was very noisy with loud piano music, although so nice to have live piano music! The stand out for me was excellent service and flexibility for 2 people dining with an allergy/intolerance list as long as your arm! Made us feel very comfortable!!
Had a great meal. Restaurant was lively while still be able to talk comfortably. Waitress was attentive when needed.
Long wait to be seated (and we had a reservation!) and long wait to be served and between dishes..we started eating the main after an hour of have been sat.
It was a pity though, because the food was amazing!
Very good experience this time, we had a lovely waiter and the food was wonderful (soft shell crab benedicts were outstanding). Drinks as well, really nothing to complain about.
I understand they cannot please everyone, however, if we could get a table closer to the piano next time that would fantastic (especially that we booked in advance/ seat unorganised walk-in people at the back :)), because all the glamour and magic just disappeared when you sat us at the back and it just all sounded like an underground station.
Other than that wonderful.
Went for brunch which was amazing. Crab Benedict is a great dish in addition to the oysters.
Pancakes were good too. Nice relaxed atmosphere with a live pianist.
Really misleading menu for vegetarians / vegans! BE WARNED! I asked if the chips were cooked in vegetable oil, the waiter told me yet but that they're cooked in the same fryer as the beef. I then had ordered many vegetarian dishes to which, after much back and forth we worked out WERE NOT vegetarian as they were all cooked alongside the meat. There are no V or VG markings near the food and I felt incredibly mislead. If you don't eat meat be very careful with this restaurant and ensure you ask your waiter/waitress what exactly IS V or VG!!
Delicious food and a great selection of wine and a friendly service! Thank you very much. Zurab
We loved our experience...the waiter, David, was attentive and kind...generous and accommodating. We loved the piano medley that ran.the gamut from Beatles to Bowie...and the food!!! Amazingly good. Wish we could return on a regular basis!
We booked a last minute, late night table & were so glad that we came here.
I had 2 of the nicest vegetarian dishes that I've ever had - tempura cabbage with parsley mayo & salt baked beetroot with hazlenuts & roasted garlic. My husband had meal envy even though he loved his ricotta dumplings followed by fish & chips.
The restaurant is tricky to find from the street, especially as there are no signs, but look for a white brick courtyard & follow your nose!
Amazing food & friendly knowledgeable staff. Go!
The food here has been excellent the last few times we visited for dinner and this time was no exception. This was our first brunch here and the menu was short but well done and the prices are reasonable given the quality of the food.
Although the open plan space means it's a very light atmosphere it can make the restaurant a little noisy. But the service is prompt and friendly though not overly so.
Came for my boyfriends birthday for brunch, had such a lovely meal and really great cocktails. We loved the piano player too. Would come again. Thank you!
