Once again the Bistro "experience" was great. It was my birthday but we didn't tell them on purpose since they add extra deserts and the like which we didn't want or need. This is our "go to" for special occasions and has been for years.
The service and food were fantastic, the food was presented beautifully. Everything was hot and properly cooked. Desserts were awesome. One small complaint is it's a bit pricey but they do use the best products, and also the AC was not completely cooling the restaurant, but it was a very hot and muggy evening.
Very helpful and courteous service. Excellent food. Good parking. The restaurant works very hard at pleasing customers.
I have been to the Bistro too many times to count. Service on this latest visit was impressively splendid. The only thing that was missed was a specific note/message from my online reservation. Food has always been great. My wife and I have been to the Bistro during all occasions/holidays/celebrations and many different times though-out the day. No matter what the time or occasion we have never been disappointed. Many years ago the Bistro had parking issues and the curb-appeal was less than perfect but all that has been rectified. Would I recommend Bistro L'Hermitage to a friend? Without hesitation...
This is our favorite restaurant. I brought a friend that had never eaten there and she thought it fab.
Tricia, our server was excellent.
I haven’t reservations this Sunday 11:30. Bringing another friend for a celebration.
I have often eaten at Le Hermitage, but the year of Coronovirus seems to have taken its toll. I asked at the start for Dubonet, and you did not have this classic. The mashed potatoes came with a cover of hay, which did nothing for the aesthetics or taste. The mashed potatoes were mediocre in taste. I have never before been asked how well done I wanted salmon. I made the mistake of saying medium rare because I often eat Salmon shashimi. But medium rare cooking gave the fish the consistency of custard. There was a hard surface applied on the fish that when cut through turned the fish into mush. I peeled off (literally!) the surface treatment. Could have used a spoon to eat the fish. Then the carrots were tough and tasteless. I would have expected carrots julienne. I had sorbet for desert and made the mistake or ordering mango. It was thick and sweet, not at all refreshing like sorbet. I would like to have seen some French rather than just American dishes on the menu. The waitress was efficient, but pestered us with patronizing questions about whether we liked the food. Noise level too high to carry on a conversation comfortably. There were some young people nearby who didn't know how to dress of keep their voices down. The size of the portions were twice I could eat, and that seems another concession to American taste. My wife's dinner, on the other hand, was fine.
This was a special birthday dinner for my husband. Everything (ambiance, service, food and wine) was outstanding. We had the best seats in the house (a nice little table, tucked away in a corner, with beautiful flowers, having mentioned when I made the reservation it was for a birthday).
We both had cocktails to start (Whiskey Sour for hubby and myself a French Martini), followed by (me) Lobster Bisque and (hubby), escargot out of the shell in a sauce with puff pastry on top, both of us enjoyed a Caesar salad, and we both chose one of the (market) specials which was a filet minon with red wine sauce and potato puree accompanied by a lobster tail with beurre blanc sauce and sauteed spinach. We enjoyed this with a bottle of Orin Swift 2017 Papillon bordeaux-style red from Napa. Dessert (for my husband, I was too full) was my husband's favorite Creme Brulee. I had a cappuchino to end the night.
Our server was Dennis, and we asked him to pick the wine and also keep the pace slow so we could enjoy this lovely dinner. He did not disappoint. This was our 4th time at Bistro l'Hermitage and it has always been a superb experience. We hope to return to try their highly rated Sunday Brunch in the near future. We highly recommend this beautiful restaurant especially for romantic and/or special dinner.
Great meal, outstanding service, the temperature got a little warm during meal making it a little uncomfortable. It was a little loud.
We will come back.
This was the best place to celebrate our 20th anniversary!!
Wedding Anniversary. As always food and service were excellent!
Amazing restaurant. Delicious food excellent service
Food and service was A+ Love this place - would highly recommend it - plan to go back soon.
I bring my mom here every two to three weeks. This is by far our favorite restaurant. Dennis is absolutely amazing and knows exactly what to recommend and how to expertly pair it. Sublime!
Great spot for date night/special occasions. Be prepared for a big bill but everything was delicious. American size portions so you'll likely be taking a doggy bag home. Excellent service. Great ambiance.
Impeccable service. Fantastic cuisine. Delectable desserts. We've been several times and usually get the chef's recommended course dinner. We've never had anything we didn't like here. This time, we went for our 10th anniversary and ended up ordering ala carte, as the chef's course dinner was seafood and we wanted something different. Splitting a soup and an appetizer, and ordering a couple entrees, drinks, and desserts, we dropped around $220ish with tip.
Might be a little pricey to eat there often, but a great place to splurge for a special day or for a pricier date night, once in a while.
Before or after, you can go for a short stroll around old town Occoquan, which can be nice to do on a date night. It's about a 2-minute drive away. Some nights at the park there they have outdoor movies or trivia nights, which can be fun.
Excellent food and service!! Never disappointed!!!!
We always have a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The food and the service are amazing.
Absolutely amazing - everything was outstanding. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to others.
Great service overall
My wife an I often dine at L’Hermitage, and are always very pleased with the experience. So we decided to celebrate our wedding anniversary there too. We were thrilled with the quality of the food, the presentation, and the service. All that said, I hope nobody reads this so it doesn’t get too busy with others who look for top quality dining.
One of my favorite place for Sunday Brunch! Delightful
I would definitely recommend the Bistro to a friend.
We had not dined here in 2 months due to health issues (me & our favorite waiter, Carlos). It was wonderful to sit at our favorite table & be pampered by Tony. He brought us complimentary flutes of brut rose. He also remembered all of our favorite dishes in advance of our ordering, and brought Barry a birthday dessert. Our only complaint was that they overcooked his lava cake a little. It did not flow molten chocolate as he likes it. The cappuccinos were excellent. Hope to return soon.
Very busy but every attention to detail was made by the outstanding staff! Food was outstanding as usual. Never disappoints.
Everything was excellent. Food, ambiance and service! I can understand why they are so popular. We will definitely return. We order the seafood special. The trout and shrimp were cooked perfectly and the pineapple sauce was wonderful.
Again we were blown away at the perfection that we get here. Food was spectacular, service is stellar and atmosphere pristine. Truly love eating here for any special occasion. Highly recommend Bistro L'Hermitage.
We went for my birthday, absolutely fabulous evening! The service is outstanding, ambience wonderful, and food is exceptional. I had the eggplant goat cheese torte as an appetizer, every layer was so full of flavor. My main course was the Seabass, not only was it a generous portion it was seared to perfection and so moist… The best Seabass I have ever had! My husband had the French onion soup which is to die for and the fillet which he said was grilled to perfection. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who would like to start a special occasion. It is on the pricey side but you get what you pay for.
The best that PWC has to offer.
They are the best! Always superior food and the service is beyond outstanding. We love Bistro L'Hermitage!
Dennis is the best waiter we’ve ever seen. Was a pleasure.
Best restaurant I’ve been to since moving to the DMV. Will definitely be visiting again.
Great food served by an energetic and attentive staff
Went with my parents and my 3 month old son. it was a little noisy bc it was a busy brunch but not unpleasant- my son dozed right off with all the background bustling noises. the food was delicious and the service was short and efficient. they were very busy and the server clearly had many tables but still got our food out in a timely manner (he definitely was not chatty which honestly i prefer). i got the lamb mergueze appetizer (piping hot and sooooo delicious) and the shrimp cake sandwich for my entree. it was all shrimp and in big pieces and very well executed and tasty. i was so full, we didn’t order dessert bc we didn’t want to push our luck with the baby (he was very good the whole time). we loved it, definitely going back
This restaurant is my very favorite! It’s amazing! Every time we go I’m never disappointed. It’s a must try!
Exceptional food and exceptional service. Highly recommended.
This restaurant does not disappoint. Their addition of an outdoor patio was the perfect setting to enjoy dinner on a beautiful Saturday night. This is by far one of our favorite restaurants in NOVA.
It was hands down the best restaurant we’ve been to in NOVA.
Excellent service. Delicious food.
An absolute must for anyone who wants to be spoiled. From the moment we were seated until we left the restaurant the service was top notch. Our waiter was impressive with his knowledge of everything from the cocktails to desert. Detailing everything from preparation to how it would taste. The food was perfectly prepared, seasoned, bursting with flavor and excitement in every bite. Wine suggestion was amazing. Every detail is carefully thought out and put in place. But don’t take my word for it, make a reservation and go see for yourself.
