Bistango Ratings and Reviews
Love Bistangos....our favorite restaurant. 11/14 was their 30th BD! We were lucky enough to be there on opening night 30 years ago.....consistently one of the best restaurants in OC. Food is delicious with generous servings with efficient and friendly servers. Also a restaurant where you can hear each other.
My boyfriend and I had a great dinner on Saturday night. The food was delicious (although the super crunchy sourdough bread was a bit of a challenge). I have to say that our server (can't remember her name) was amazing! She was funny, attentive and brought us fresh bread without us asking!! This is a great place for a date or work dinner.
I have always been a fan of Bistango, but since retiring from the Business World,
no longer go there regularly.
This was a luncheon gathering of "long term business friends". All was well with
one exception - the prices on their menu seemed to have had a MAJOR increase
since I was there last. They were EXCESSIVE -- not high -- Excessive.
Four meals - off the menu - + tip, and NO alcoholic drinks from the bar other
than 2 bottles of beer -- $207.00. THAT is over $50 per lunch. I OBJECT.
I am used to good restaurnts, and am able to pay for any level at any
time......BUT, $50 for Bistango's is beyond reaonable.
You asked. You have my opinion.

I brought our office staff there for dinner after an office spa day. We made reservations through OPEN Table. They have complimentary valet service...that's a plus! The hostess was very friendly and we were seated right away. Our waiters were very attentive, helpful, descriptive with the menu and specials. Pricing a tad bit on the expensive side. They have a good selection of cocktails and wines. We were very happy with our meals. The steaks were done to perfection. One ordered a medium-well done steak and medium-rare and both were cooked the way they ordered. They also had live band singing Jazz which was pleasant. Great place for business meals, groups, or a date night restaurant. Enjoyed ourselves thoroughly.
It was such a joy to be treated like a Queen on my Anniversary date. The server was amazing and the gentleman who served the hot delicious bread was so accomodating. He would glance over to our table from time to time and refill our bread supply. All in all it was a very pleasant luncheon and I felt really special. Thank you for your kindness! I will be back again with my family...Blessings to you!
Food was excellent! but service was not...... We had dinner at the bar, which was relatively busy but not slammed. The bartenders were pleasant when spoken to, but they would casually walk by and ignore empty drinks. We had to wave them down every time, even when they didn't seem to be doing anything. We heard other customers complain as well. I will say our food was delicious!!
This was my first time at Bistango, we came here because we heard there was love music and BOY did they deliver. Not only was the first band great but they had some sort of special guest the night we went called "4 The Culture". I think the lead was named Manny Ayala and they were so great and hip. What a fun night.
The swordfish was incredible - Probably the best I have had Unfortunately the fillet mignon was overcooked ( definitely not medium rare), but it was edible the vegetables and potatoes were perfectly cooked. Absolutely delicious. . It is definitely a very classy restaurant which caters to all ages, and the owners take pride in great service and creating a very nice atmosphere. They also have a great happy hour!
