Have a great experience. Our waiter Jared was wonderful. Very attentive
We've eaten here in the past and it was good! This visit - not so much. The menu has changed. Not sure what brand they are trying to portray with the menu but we did not enjoy the food. Dishes are super complicated, taste is bland and menu does not describe the dish very well.
Unfortunately - we used to really enjoy this place. Hopefully they will adjust the menu.
We apologize for the underwhelming experience. We will take your feedback into account moving forward and we hope to see you again in the future to deliver a much better experience.
Exceeded our expectations! Food was delicious; service was impeccable- Juan was amazing and greeted me by name as I had a reservation. We sat outside and the temperature a d noise level were perfect. Our drinks were outstanding. We loved it and did not feel rushed- we will return!
Lisa, we are so happy to hear you enjoyed your dining experience with us! Juan is an amazing server and we are happy he could deliver a special experience for you!
Mary, our server, was excellent. Very professional and knew the menu. We had a wonderful meal.
Lynda, thank you for the recommendation! We are happy Mary successfully assisted you in your ding experience.
We went for brunch this morning. The service was fantastic. Juan (and Abby) was very accommodating and attentive. My husband and I both had the Cajun Shrimp and Grits, which was fabulous (not spicy but really tasty). One of our friends had the Wild Mushroom and Truffle Omelette and practically licked the plate. One of the kids had the Tres Leche French Toast, which he loved; the other had the Blueberry Compote Pancake Stack, which he liked but felt it was too big of a portion. My friend was the only one who didn't care for her initial selection- she got the plantain chicken wrap but didn't like it (thought it was underseasoned) but thoroughly enjoyed the Tomato Foccacia she swapped it for.
We requested outside seating and the staff arranged our table under one of the umbrellas - it was perfect.
Rhyannon, thank you for the thorough review! We hope to see you again soon!
I have eaten at this restaurant many times and appreciate the atmosphere and service, but I have not particularly liked some of the menu choices and thought that overall the food was pricey. Last night I took a friend to dinner for his birthday.
We both ordered wine, salad, steak and sides. He ordered the Delmonico ($48) and I ordered the Filet Mignon ($53) both medium rare plus Bearnaise sauce. His arrived medium and mine arrived medium-well. It seemed that it was a good piece of meat, but the kitchen ruined it by overcooking and I didn't enjoy it at all, however, I did not send it back because I didn't want to disrupt dinner for my friend. The total bill all in came to well over $200. I don't mind paying for a really good meal, but I would think that for those prices the kitchen could cook a steak properly to order.
Mary, we apologize for the overdone steak! We completely understand why you didn't send it back. We hope to see you in the future and improve your experience!
Dehydrated strawberries on a strawberry salad...not in Florida. We are the strawberry capital of the USA. That was not a good idea. Everything else was yummy, as usual!
Jann, we are happy you enjoyed everything! We apologize that you didn't enjoy the strawberry salad. We hope to see you again in the future!
Great place for a meal with friends under the stars. Will definitely come back - again!!
Lorid, we love this! Hope to see you again soon!
I've used OpenTable to book reservations for over ten years, and during this time, I never felt the need to write a review of a restaurant until now. My family's Thanksgiving dinner last night at Birch & Vine was horrendous. The food was not edible. The turkey was so overcooked it required water to swallow it. We all ordered the prix fixe menu, and everyone's entrees had different or missing items. The table next to ours walked out in the middle of their meal. We felt terrible for our server and kept asking for things to be made right. We paid our bill, which was not worth the money and we won't return unless the restaurant contacts us and makes an effort to show us they care about their customers.
So, even though we had a reservation, we sat for over 30 minutes without acknowledgment, when we finally questioned it, we were given complimentary beverages, and our server was extremely attentive. We ordered the Thanksgiving dinner, and it was awful. This restaurant is known for fine dining, and the food was just terrible. I had a coworker done that day at a different time and said the same. None of us will ever go back.
Been going for years - What happened? Oh word is they lost 2 chef's - worst Thanksgiving meal ever!
Food was cold but they did attempt to bring out warm food. Staff was friendly. Difficlty getting good drinks from bar, maybe it was bartenders first day, who knows. They did make effort to make the drinks better.
Julie, we apologize for the mishaps! We are thankful for you understanding and hope to see you again in the future!
We really enjoyed the special Thanksgiving dinner that was prepared. The food and service was excellent.
Alan, thank you for the positive review! We are so happy you enjoyed it! Come see us again soon.
Our Thanksgiving Dinner was a "fail." We ordered the 3 course "special," and it was obvious that it had all been "plated" well in advance for some weird kind of attempt at efficiency. The pumpkin soup was surprisingly flavorful but garnished with some sort of very dead looking green thing, the turkey was the most dried out slab of meat that I've ever encountered, the teaspoon of gravy was not adequate to cover the absence of any flavor, and then there were the stiff, ugly, green things that were too hard to chew...the spoonful of cranberries were good as well as the tablespoon of mashed potatoes, once I broke through their dried out crust. I'm still not sure what I was served for dessert, it was very beige and formed to look like a lineup of babysized turds...the cocktail and wine were good, but only about 1/2 of a regular serving... doubt that either I or my guests will return.
We had a great Thanksgiving meal here; loved every minute of it and it felt like a special treat on a beautiful day. Grateful...
Pleasant and delicious
Crystal, we are glad you enjoyed! We look forward to seeing you again in the future!
Excellent service and even better food.
Thank you for the kind words! We hope to see you again in the future!
A great dinner in an outdoor (noisy) situation. Meatloaf was an interesting but very good selection - very well prepared, both people really liked it. Swordfish special was excellent. The charcuterie platter (my version of a main) was a meal in itself! Well done! Vege Soup tasted good, just not hot enough - luke warm upon arrival to table. Quite a broad selection of wines by bottle and glass, not outrageously priced but my Aperol Spritz was a bad choice with at least 50% seltzer (too diluted). Would have been better with a straight Prosecco. Service was unrushed, a very nice evening of conversation and good eats. I do have to say the presence of a group of 8 20-somethings at the walk up entry to indoor dining stood there shouting over each other for quite a bit of dinner time - not cool. Then, they didn't sit for dinner. Unfortunately, hard for outdoor service to manage that stuff since there's a public walk path between building and outdoor tables. Still, a hearty recommendation.
Franc, thank you for the thorough review and the recommendation! We apologize for the loud guests, we hope to see you again in the future!
Food was well prepared the fish pate was too salty other than that the Scottish salmon was great and the scallops amazing will go back.
Walesk, thank you for review! We are glad you enjoyed the experience overall, thank you for the feedback. We hope to see you again soon
Server discussed menu, gave notice of unique food pairings, staples, descriptions.
We had a great time. We will be back. It was our first visit to St Pete’s too.
Great food, great atmosphere and great staff!
We went there with friends who had never been there. We were celebrating my wife’s Birthday, and the restaurant staff did a great job. It was Sunday for brunch and had a great meal with outstanding service.
I’m a local not tourist and this was my third time here. It’s been a year or so since last visit. Great food and Mikayla our server was awesome.
our server was absolutely wonderful and made our dinner experience absolutely amazing (I cant remember her name but she was training a newer server named jacob!) she made our date night really special- thank you!
Brunch menu could use an update.
Valentina, our server, was so attentive, professional and nice. We had a lovely evening. Food was excellent, too.
Interesting menu prepared well, with great service and nice ambiance.
We love the Birch and Vine. We had a really nice brunch and Jose our server was fantastic. The food was very good and everything came out hot. We never felt rushed and all of the staff were all very nice and attentive. Definitely a place to come back to time and time again.
Awful. Friendly staff and service but the food was awful. We ordered beef carpaccio and it tasted like absolutely nothing. The crostini had more flavor. The bone marrow butter just tasted like butter.
Our entrees: The lamb bolognese was nothing special. The ground meat was pretty dry and pasta overcooked.
The Lantern Lane Brick Chicken: are you joking calling this half a chicken? It was a boneless skin-on chicken thigh and drum with a dollop of mash and 2 stalks of asparagus and flavorful it was NOT. For a total of $29.
Our bill came in at $91 and I've had better meals at half of that cost. Do not go here. It is a second thought to their hotel yet it is advertised as an upscale restaurant and it absolutely doesn't deliver to that notion.
AG, We are saddened you did not enjoy the food. We hope to see you again soon in the future and provide a 5 star experience!
Not worth the money we spend for dinner. Soup was very salty had to be returned.
Potato puree was cold and the chicken slices were dry. On top of that the beer was flat and it tasted like cider. Also returned. Menus
are printed in a very small font and light color. With the dim lighting in the main dining room it is hard to read the menu clearly.
Hello, we apologize for the underwhelming experience. We appreciate the feedback and this will be passed to management.
Food was amazing except for the brussel sprouts, but that could me.
Great service considering how busy they were.
Very pleasant and relaxing dinner.
We are so happy you enjoyed your dining experience with us! Come see us again soon!
