We weren’t thrilled with the food. And too many different servers who didn’t know what the others were doing. Very confusing set up.

Service was excellent as always! A couple of the entrees were very very small. They could have added some side items to the plate. Cauliflower soup has always been superior but it wasn't up to par that night. The quality of the food is excellent though!

Our 1st visit. Very nice. We were treated to a private room which made us feel special. Creative and excellent food. A bit pricy, but great experience.

The salmon was outstanding; the steak was gristly. We enjoyed the wedge salad. But the staff acted snotty and the waitress was in a rush each time she stopped by. I dropped $255 on dinner which tasted pretty good but the experience was unsavory. Won’t go back.

Gave away our table because we were 15 min late but found another one; waited 20 min but we could not find parking due to a concert. Otherwise the wine and food very much made up for it. The chef knows how to cook scallops...it was the second best I’ve ever had. The first was at the same restaurant. Lovely cuisine. It is worth a wait for the excellent food and wine.

The meal was great, our waitress was great but apparently 2 waiters had to go home sick so she was slammed and we had to wait longer then liked between courses and dessert, speaking of dessert my bananas foster was cold, not what I expected after having it many times over the years. Also was a bit loud so hard to have a conversation.

We were 3-couples, first time eating at the restaurant. Christopher our waiter was excellent and professional. We had the Green Goddess salad and house special Asian Miso soup. We liked the soup better then the salad. The soup was a spicy miso broth with shaved mushrooms and peas, good size portion. The salad was good size but was only green lettuce leafs and dressing, kind of plain. Two guests had the cauliflower soup, both commented they enjoyed it, adding one Wedge salad.

Three guests had a 1/2 slab of their signature peach ribs. No one liked them, everyone felt they had way to many small bones making them difficult to eat and fatty. The outside crust on meat was dry, tough and chewy. Everyone felt the favor on the ribs was lacking to light, adding to the plate was a grilled half peach which was dry and not juicy. One guest got the vegan dinner plate, I believe he enjoyed. I had the best dish of the night their special, pan seared Halibut with risotto.

My wife felt the wine pours were lite for the cost, they measured them verses pouring from the bottle. I had their Manhattan, it was done correctly. I’d say the restaurant is nice and can be a better, half the dishes were liked, half were a disappointment.

Earlier in the day we went to the top level Canopy bar. We loved the view, people, atmosphere, drinks and lite eats.

We've been fans of Birch & Vine and remain fans. As we believe this was an aberations.

However, our meal this night was not good. Steak overcooked...fish cold...cold appetizers...bananas foster just not good (don't know if it was preparation of recipe).

i ordered the salmon and it was amazing... everything on the plate was well prepared, imaginative and outstanding. but they have been changing the menu and everyone couldn't find something they liked on the menu. we loved the old menu so this is a tough review.. sorry. honey had the ribs and they were amazing also... but the other dishes that came out were just average... we miss the old b&v

We went for Sunday Brunch. We requested a table outside and it was fabulous. The weather was perfect, the food was fabulous. I can't wait to go again. Definitely remains on the list of go to restaurants.

Fabulous! We celebrated a friend’s bday and it was perfect! Food was delish. Our waitress knocked it out of the park even wearing the party hat and fake mustache to join the fun. Highly recommend!

We sat outside and the weather was nice and the coolers kept us comfortable. However, it was still warm and I asked the waitress for additional ice for my tea - and she never put in more than a couple cubes which melted immediately. When the food arrived, my short ribs were great, but one of my companions short ribs were pretty much all fat - he hardly touched it. And the Cobb Salad was too large and my other companion did not remark on it at all and also did not eat much of it. I have been to Birch and Vine many times before, and have always been pleased, but I have to say, yesterday was a disappointment.

Disappointing. Poorly suggested wine as a “special”. Server relunctant acceptance of feedback regarding wine. The “special” was for employees not customers! After we ordered, “I get a free bottle for every 5/6 I sell?!” Wow! Not a wine that matched our palette or requests. Birthday girl asked for “lighter” red. “Special” was heavy burgundy/Bordeaux with lots of grit & sediment! Delmonico was fatty & stringy. Oysters were not the best as you sit by the bay?! Makes no sense. Can’t suggest! Cheese board was only good choice & gratefully because needed to marry bitterness of wine at $86.00 a bottle! He should have let me order the $113 bottle I requested! More $$ & any disappointment would be on me, not a suggestion that they are “very similar!” NOT!! Won’t go back. Sorry! Sommelier did stop by the table.

Food menu needs to be revamped ASAP. Steak was way overcooked, asked for a medium and had to send it back. Off the docks was a red snapper that night. Abosuletly nothing special about it. The 3 pieces of oysters for appetizers were a joke. I have to ask for lemons. Also ordered the calamari with shrimp platter and was a disappointment. Will not come back to eat but a great place to grab a drink. The ambience and location is saving this restaurant.

I celebrated my birthday with my girlfriends at Brunch. All our food was delicious. Mikie was our server and did a fabulous job taking care of our every need! This restaurant is special as they presented me with a delicious birthday dessert complete with candle. I would recommend this restaurant for a special occasion.

Hoped to find a great spot to celebrate our anniversary. Not only had a nice experience upstairs at the Canopy, but when it came time for our dinner, the staff was super nice, the food excellent and the time spent there just wonderful. Highly recommend the Birch and Vine and will certainly come back. Thanks for a great evening!

My friend and I were in town for a conference and the Birch & Vine was within walking distance of our hotel and near the water. I liked the look of the menu and we were very pleased with our meal and the wine we chose. We had the szechuan tuna, the roast vegetable plate and shared a plate of oysters for our starter. The service was good.

Place was beautiful, service was great...but the drinks and the food was horrendous. There were 4 of us and we all hated each other’s plates! They really need to get a better chef in that kitchen.

I don't often write reviews but I was disappointed with our experience at Birch & Vine. There were 6 of us. We all agreed the ambiance was nice. We sat outside and both the outside and inside areas were upscale and pleasant. The staff was friendly and attentive.

They ran out of several menu items. Someone in our group ordered ribs. It took about 45 minutes for our food to be prepared. When they brought out everyone else's food, the person who ordered ribs was told they were out of ribs! Typically this is messaged to you shortly after you order, not when they are bringing everyone else's food! We ordered dessert, our waitress told us how great the bananas foster was. We ordered it and they came back to tell us they were out of it. A person in our party wanted a cappuccino. When the waitress put the order in, she was told the machine was broken.

We all had appetizers. The salads yielded positive reviews. The calamari and shrimp appetizer was marginal at best. The dish was not crispy, the seafood had a slimy feel to it and the shrimp literally had no flavor.

For our main course, 4 of us ordered a salmon dish which was very good. 2 of us ordered filet mignon. It was a decent cut of meat but not what was expected for the $ and the spices were on the salty side. Also, one of the filets was significantly undercooked and had to be sent back. The steak dishes are served a la carte.

The dessert selection was very poor as the ingredients listed for the desserts did not sound appealing. As examples, the chocolate torte had caviar and almond soil. The cheesecake had some type of cracked pepper in it. Of all the options, the bananas foster sounded the best but they were out of it. So, our table had the cheesecake and the gelatto. I am a huge fan of cheesecake but this was virtually inedible. It was small and I ate about half before I gave up on it. The others did not care for the cheesecake either and the gelatto was average at best.

Many better places on Beach Drive.

Elegant lounge and dinning room, a nice change from beach scene if you have been out all day and looking to have a special evening, food is gourmet type, only negative was the wait time for drinks more than once.

A bit pricey, but worth it. Simple sampler of kalamari and shrimp was the best I've ever had. Drinks were also very impressive. The nicest place in St Pete that I've been to.

The meal was lovely and the restaurant is beautiful to look at. The food was delicious and the service very friendly. My only complaint would be the noise level. It was difficult to hold a conversation without having to shout.

We sat outside which was very nice. Our server, Jamie made excellent recommendations—carpaccio, tuna small plate and scallops were all outstanding. They had very interesting combinations of flavors and textures that all worked together—we’ll be back soon!!

Very nice atmosphere the table was too small for all the plates and the server didn’t take them away! Cheese slate excellent recommend to serve more crostini’s or bread as there was not enough for all the cheese! Overall experience was very good.

It took us 10 minutes waiting at the hostess stand even though I had a reservation. There were only 4 tables at lunch and service took forever. Lunch lasted from 12 pm to 1:30 pm. No sugars for the espressos ordered at the end. Server would disappear at times.
this is a place for cocktails, but def not lunch.

This was our second time to Birch and Vine -- loved our first visit there last month for a birthday celebration and decided to go back this past weekend for another birthday. Very disappointed this time. The first time, we were treated like it was a special occasion, had our dietary needs addressed (I'm Vegan) and had stellar service. And we were offered a dessert in honor of the birthday! This time...almost the opposite. Example: $14 for a half a head of iceberg lettuce with a few cherry tomatoes and less than a quarter cup of dressing on the side? Seriously? And the Server waited until nearly the end of our meal to check on us--a bit of fresh ground pepper or salt would have helped balance out my mediocre dish. Never one to complain about a place, especially since things do get confused between service and kitchen yet this meal, which we spent over $100 on without dessert, should have been much more enjoyable. Sent a note to Management and have not had any response whatsoever.
