My review was based on dining on the veranda. Atmosphere was quiet and very enjoyable. Food was very good but a bit pricey
Anniversary brunch with my wife. They took extra care of us and we enjoyed great service and a tasty meal.
A bit pricey, but worth it. Simple sampler of kalamari and shrimp was the best I've ever had. Drinks were also very impressive. The nicest place in St Pete that I've been to.
The meal was lovely and the restaurant is beautiful to look at. The food was delicious and the service very friendly. My only complaint would be the noise level. It was difficult to hold a conversation without having to shout.
We sat outside which was very nice. Our server, Jamie made excellent recommendations—carpaccio, tuna small plate and scallops were all outstanding. They had very interesting combinations of flavors and textures that all worked together—we’ll be back soon!!
Fantastic food, great service, top notch. We were there for our anniversary and everything was delightful.
Very nice atmosphere the table was too small for all the plates and the server didn’t take them away! Cheese slate excellent recommend to serve more crostini’s or bread as there was not enough for all the cheese! Overall experience was very good.
The food was amazing and the service excellent. Everyone in the table was satisfied
It took us 10 minutes waiting at the hostess stand even though I had a reservation. There were only 4 tables at lunch and service took forever. Lunch lasted from 12 pm to 1:30 pm. No sugars for the espressos ordered at the end. Server would disappear at times.
this is a place for cocktails, but def not lunch.
This was our second time to Birch and Vine -- loved our first visit there last month for a birthday celebration and decided to go back this past weekend for another birthday. Very disappointed this time. The first time, we were treated like it was a special occasion, had our dietary needs addressed (I'm Vegan) and had stellar service. And we were offered a dessert in honor of the birthday! This time...almost the opposite. Example: $14 for a half a head of iceberg lettuce with a few cherry tomatoes and less than a quarter cup of dressing on the side? Seriously? And the Server waited until nearly the end of our meal to check on us--a bit of fresh ground pepper or salt would have helped balance out my mediocre dish. Never one to complain about a place, especially since things do get confused between service and kitchen yet this meal, which we spent over $100 on without dessert, should have been much more enjoyable. Sent a note to Management and have not had any response whatsoever.
The atmosphere, food, and service were all outstanding. We had brunch to celebrate my birthday and the server even offered a dessert on the house. The meals came in large portions for great prices. Everything was quiet and beautiful. It was an amazing birthday brunch!
We had a Travelzee voucher for two with a $100.00 value. We had one appetizer, two entrees and 1 dessert for a total of $79.00. We each had a wine $8 and $9. When Nick handed the bill to me it had $24.75 extra on it. We paid $40.00 cash and left. The service was almost snail like. Time between our appetizer and our entrees was over 40 minutes. Can't say I would recommend Birch & Vine for any reason. We were disappointed.
Dinner was very good. Steaks are excellent. Somewhat strange combinations for both starters & dinners. DO NOT order the banana foster for dessert! It was awful!#! Not warm at all. Not what a banana foster should be. They need to rename it.
Birch & Vine never fails! Superb food and service in an elegant environment...indoors or out. A great new menu!
My boyfriend and I have eaten here numerous times (brunch and Valentine’s Day) and we have always enjoyed it. This time was just as memorable. It was my boyfriends birthday and his parents tagged along. They were so impressed with the quality of food, service and price, they told us they had to come back for brunch. It was the perfect price range for a small celebration.
Given all the great restaurants, this really didn't live up to the hype nor the expense with eating here! The food was good, nothing great but given the prices, it should have been fabulous. You can eat at the beach for a lot less and the food is just as great if not better.
Disappointed in food. Pretentious but not delicious.
Had such high hopes but they were quickly dashed after we finished our appetizer and the bus boy came over and removed all dishes and cutlery. We felt at that point we were being told to leave. After waiting for another 5 minutes (waiter never checked on us during appetizer) I decided to call the restaurant. The Maitre d was missing and the phone was off the hook and ON THE FLOOR! I called the hotel (Birchwood) and they informed me that the restaurant was on another line with a customer and they would be with me soon, I informed them that I can see the Maitre d host and there is no one there and the phone is off the hook. The line got quiet, then they immediately told me someone would be with us quickly. The manager then proceeded to wait on our table (not really, more BS). The manager proceeded to tell us that they would take care of us (not sure what they meant, but assumed it meant comping an appetizer, which the DID NOT do). I paid full price for the worst service I had experienced in quite some time and to top it off my wife and I came from Palm Harbor (30 miles away) to dine here. We wont be back.
There is more, but I simply don't feel like reliving it all.
Our reservation was for 7p. The hostesses didn’t seem to communicate with one and other. One came to seat us, while the other realized our entire party wasn’t here yet so waited to seat us. A bit chaotic and unorganized.
Noisy, way too loud to have a reasonable conversation. Food served to one of our party was inedibly dry and overcooked. Waiter and Manager reacted very well to obtain replacement. But it was the noise that drove all of our party to say they would never return there.
Excellent service and food was very good. The Georgia Peach ribs had good flavor but not alot of ribs and not tender at all.
Service was excellent. Staff was very courteous, well trained, and detailed. Pork Belly was a bit overcooked, and bar had some technical issues, but the staff handled it well and definitely a small one time thing that would not deter me from going back. Will definitely return!
Outstanding!!! Really enjoyed.... Nice place ill come back
Great restaurant for a special occasion or date night. The food was fantastic (Filet) and cooked perfectly. The service was exceptional. Thank you!
Went for brunch - ordered calamari to start with a bottle of schramsberg and some cocktails - calamari was soggy and the veloute sauce had no flavor and tasted of flour - we told the server and he did nothing to rectify two people had breakfast dishes and they were good one had the charcuterie and liked it I had the southern Cobb nothing to write home about
Birchwood is our go-to for a special occasion evening. The food is excellent, great wine list, and a quiet ambiance.
Food was beyond delicious and our server was perfect :)
Always great food and great service. One of our favorites in downtown St Pete.
The new menu has so many choices, and all look great. I split the Green Goddess salad with my husband and our friends split the spinach salad. Beautiful presentation and delicious. We shared the rutabaga fries and they were very good too. I ate off of everyone's plate... I had the Roasted Veggies, and they made it with quinoa instead of farro so it was gluten free. I loved it and had plenty to take home. My friend and husband both had the gnocchi and I could have eaten an entire bowl of the mushrooms and tangy sauce. Our friend's husband had the scallops and grits and the scallop was beautifully cooked and delicious. Birch and Vine is on my top 3 list in Tampa Bay! Looking forward to going again to try more on the menu. Our waitress was lovely... very willing to accommodate our dietary needs and had knowledge of the new menu so she could confidently make recommendations and substitutions.
My only disappointment was that only a brunch menu was available on a Saturday afternoon. Will definitely go back one evening. If brunch is anything to go by it will be with it.
Service was good but they did commit the sin of bringing out the main course before we had finished our appetiser. Wine list was good and priced very reasonably
Wonderful appetizers and an excellent value on Tuesdays (discounted wine and appetizers). The calamari was terrific and the beef carpaccio was also excellent. My only complaint is the noise level which makes it difficult to converse. I still recommend this restaurant.
Trying to be trendy, but playing it safe. Felt corporate and antiseptic. Afraid to offend the Beach Dr. crowd with anything too controversial. Food ranged from inoffensive to good, but not inspired or unique. Drab decor. Slightly self-conscious, amateurish, millennial service. Enjoyed the pear & parsnip soup though. And I'm sure there are and will be more exciting menu items.
Went for brunch. Will never go for brunch again. Have been for dinner and that was good.
Green Goddess salad was tasteless
Pork Belly Poutine which was recommended by the waiter was made with tater tots and had almost no meat.
The only redeeming dish was the French Toast which we had for desert.
The manager did offer to comp some drinks for the poor quality of the pork dish.
We booked a table for 6 through Open Table for a Saturday evening at 7:15. We live on the other side of the Skyway bridge so it takes us about an hour to get to downtown St. Pete. We arrived around 7:00PM and told the hostess we would get a drink at the bar and wait for our friends. The other 4 people in our party arrived by 7:15. The hostess came to us and said that because of a large group in the dining room, they now only could either seat us in the bar, or it would be a few minutes until they could set up a table in the dining room. Well, a few minutes turned into 45-minutes and we did not sit down until 8:00PM...so much for making a reservation! The server was friendly and accommodating, the food was fine, but the room was so incredibly loud and noisy that we all felt like we were having to yell at one another across the table all evening. Not a great overall experience!
We had a great meal and service for a birthday dinner. Perfect spot for a special dinner.
Waitress was awesome! Allie (I think) Ambiance was perfect and the canopy upstairs is perfect as the sun goes down. Portions were pretty good and flavor was awesome!
A wonderful experience and delicious meal! Was reluctant to go at first as I am Vegan, was assured that adjustments could and would gladly be made. The Cruciferous plate was awesome, no adjustments needed there! My husband really enjoyed his meal, the catch of the day, and he's super picky. Finally, our Server, Allie, was outstanding. We're already planning a return visit!
Took my daughter for her 21st birthday for some delicious hand crafted cocktails in the restaurant bar, then up to the rooftop for scenic views. Steven was great - friendly, accommodating and made the night special.
We were so pleased to have been given a private room for our party of 6. We are all dear friends who work hard to see each other so we loved the cozy small room to chat. Our server, Miko, also fabulous & very patient. We were able to take our time & not feel rushed. Thanks for the great evening.
