You call that a shrimp cocktail. What a joke, you should take that off your menu.
We did enjoy the canopy and had a few drinks.
We might try again next year.

We went to Birch & Vine to celebrate our one month wedding anniversary, we haven’t take a honeymoon yet so we decided to go all out with a 6 course meal chosen by the executive chef. Every bite was amazing! The Korean Street corn tamale was so creative and full of flavor, we’re coming back for that soon. Scallops & grits with root veggies was delicious and it wasn’t on the menu, but we also had a blue cheese vacuum sealed filet that blew our mind. Thank you, Chef Lee for an amazing dinner to celebrate!

We arrived early after viewing an exhibition at the MFA in St Pete. The dining room wasn’t quite ready for dinner service, but they seated us anyway and we ordered drinks. Despite the kitchen not quite ready to serve from the dinner menu, we were accommodated, which was very nice. It’s a lovely dining room, great cocktail selection, wine and happy hour prices , too. The dinner menu was varied. We enjoyed our dinners, except the fish special of the day had skin that was a bit like rubber. We communicated this to our server, Jason, and he spoke to the chef, who offered another entree. That was nice but not necessary, as the entree itself was good, except for traces of rubbery skin on the fish. Have the chocolate peanut butter bar for dessert!

It was my birthday dinner so I didn't want to make a fuss. But the food was abysmal! I could have cooked a much better meal for a fraction of the price. The weird beet risotto under the salmon was not tasty, the scallops were bland, the carpaccio was surrounded by a smear of something very unappealing and also had very little taste until I added olive oil and balsamic vinegar. My very simple salad had unripe avocado (how hard is it to have ripe avocado?!) and also very little appeal. My husband and I both had upset tummies after eating this dinner. Not sure how this restaurant gets away with charging such high prices for such mediocrity. I was deeply disappointed. However, the waitress was lovely and faultless, and on top of all requests.

our waiter was very slow in serving our drinks, taking our orders and our friends steak was served 3 times and none of the steaks were prepared the way she wanted them. the manager came over after the 3rd steak was sent back and offered his apologies. Needless to say, we will not be recommending this place nor will we return.

On a crisp March day the restaurant was open and quiet. Setting was modern chic. Our server could not have been sweeter or more helpful and efficient. Food was solid but not creative or interesting. An enjoyable experience.

A little disappointed in brunch. Menu looked awesome, but quality of some dishes, the pecan bun and the wild mushroom omelette were less than what we hoped for. The mushroom omelette had very few mushrooms on it and was paper thin, and was $16.00 with no sides. Dinner here is much better quality for the
Money!

Our server was really slow. Plates not cleared, took way too long (we asked twice) for our entrees to arrive. Wedge salad was large, but weird. Not enough blue cheese (and I always go light on the dressing). Balsamic reduction was a weird ingredient. Steak salad, escargot, & carpaccio were excellent. We complained about our service, manager did nothing. I would not go back. Too many other options.

I was very excited to eat dinner here. We both ordered the seafood special of the night which was a pan roasted snapper. Sounds great right? Mine was cooked fine, my dates was pretty much raw. It was served with a mound of split peas and leeks. The sauce was a weird paprika smoky sauce. None of it went together and it was gross. There was not starch or heartiness to the dish. We had to ask for more bread because we were starving. The first batch of rolls were stale so we had to ask for new ones. My water glass was empty the entire time, but my wine glass was constantly refilled. Definitely won’t go back.

Nice ambience, good service. The food was overpriced. Three roasted oysters with $12 and then another $9 for crabmeat and asparagus tips. There was at the most one tiny piece of crab on each small oyster. The Venetian style ribs were room temperature when served and the place was empty. Crispy rice vermicelli topping was limp.

Our first time there. Had drinks in the nice bar and dinner in the restaurant. Food and service was very good. My only complaint is the indoor bar and dining room were freezing cold. It was only about 76 degrees outside but felt 65 inside. Next time I’ll either take a jacket or eat dinner outside at one of the sidewalk tables.

Great spot for a business meal with colleagues or customers. The Tuesday half price wine meant we could order a Groth cabernet without exceeding the expense budget. The food was excellent, accessible for those with pedestrian tastes, but interesting enough for foodies. Mikey, our waiter, was smooth and efficient.

Although the food was very well prepared, it took a long time to receive and our reservations for 9pm were not honored until close to 9:30. Two orders were taken for chicken only to be told not so immediately that the chicken was no longer available.
It was our first time at Birch and it was a special occasion and a large party. On a positive note, your scallops were probably the best ever tasted by many in the group!

There were several tables that were clearly over served and really loud. We left much sooner than we would have wanted to due to the noise. Have eaten there many times and this really changed my opinion of the restaurant. Then the valet wait was about 20 minutes because they brought the wrong car. The noise level was similar to a nightclub

This was our second time here in a month. First for brunch which was so so, the second for dinner. I have to say our dinner was a much better experience. We sat outside and listened to the music and had drinks until our table outside was ready. It was a Saturday night so the people watching was at it's peak! My husband and I both had the filet oscar. It was very tender. I needed salt, my husband not so much. My husband also had the wedge salad which looked fabulous! He said he didn't think he could finish it, but he did! :)
Our waitress was very nice and easy to talk to. She recommended the bananas foster for dessert and we took her up on it.
Over all it was a good night. I would recommend it to friends and family.

Birch & Vine was superb to say the least. The food was amazing, and the flavors of each dish were better than anything I’ve had from anywhere in a very long time. Service was out of this world and the ambiance just added to what was already an exceptional experience. We will definitely be returning soon.

Valentines dinner
Door was left open non stop. Freezing on Valentine’s Day for a girl in a dress. Waitress never stopped to ask how the over cooked fish was. Love Punch tasted like sugar kool aid with a tad bit of liquor. We did dinner 75.00 each person 4 course meal. The first course wasn’t eatable. The 4th course was never delivered to me. Just my fiancé only. We ordered 2 four course meals. Extremely understanding, considering it was a busy night being Valentine’s, but I won’t be going back again. For $240.00 it wasn’t worth even 100.00.
Restaurants are supposed to shine on their biggest night. Not flop.

We prefer dining outside facing the park and waterfront over the interior dining area. Food quality and preparation is rarely not on point. Is the price right for the food and service you get? There are better values out there but if the price doesn’t bother you, Birch & Vine never disappoints.

Then the restaurant texted us that our table is ready we were seated. The waiter was outstanding and efficient. The food was very good. We had the salmon dinner we also had the spinach strawberry salad. Overall the experience was great
