Big Water Grille
We were recommended Big Water Grille as a nice place to eat. We found the service rather poor (super nice waitress, she just didn't come by too often), the food so so especially for the price. The Brussel Sprouts were rather bland, the dessert (ginger cake with marshmallow) not very good. Overall a disappointment.
Loved this place!
The food was not at the standard I expected considering the prices. I ordered the pan seared chicken with corn and spinach and it was fairly tasteless. The view is probably amazing, but this time of year it was dark outside. The staff was lovely.
bummer that they ran out of trout which looked so good. appreciate that there is only a finite amount of fresh food though.
What a beautiful dinner after a long day house hunting. Excellent food, service and the view! We sat and decided to purchase a new home in incline.
The atmosphere was a 50s vibe and very classy. Great views and we were easily afforded a window view. Also, we arrived earlier than our reservation time and again they accommodated us with no difficulty. The sweet server was friendly and helpful, very professional. The menu had so may wonderful items that it was hard to choose just one. The food was amazing. Mine was not quite warm enough but again that was addressed promptly and I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. Finally, the chocolate ice cream was delicious. It was the perfect evening and we’ll definitely return when we are in the area.
Although we live on the lake, we never get tied of the GREAT view at Big Water.
The ambiance is delightful. When we first got there, the music was a tad loud and too energetic for dinner, but that changed around 6:30.
Our server, Natalie, was excellent. She was both friendly and professional. She assisted with both our dinner selections and wine choices.
The food was OK. The Mushroom Burger had a weird cheese sauce (supposedly Gruyere) that covered up the mushrooms....and was bitter...or just not quite the right taste to go with the meat and mushrooms.
The trout was a bit too oily and salmon-like for my taste but side dishes were tasty.
We would go back.
The upside is the food and service was good. I haven’t been back to restaurant in over 15 years and the trees have completely blocked the beautiful views of Lake Tahoe is the down side.
Our server, Jesse, was always there when we wanted him to be and didn’t intrude upon our evening when it wasn’t necessary. From the apps to dessert, everything was exceptional. Jesse one there and spirits very well and a big help in helping us make decisions. It a great dinner
Jordan was outstanding as our server. I’m on some dietary restrictions right now and she (and the kitchen) did a great job accommodating me. Halibut was cooked perfectly, as was the Bison Short Ribs. Great evening watching the sunset and fall colors from our window table.
Probably one of the best dining experiences in Incline Village. Jeremy the bartender is fantastic. Loved the salmon dish and butter lettuce salad.
Exceptional location and view reinforced by area's best food; phenomenally attentive service
Old friends getting together
A must for a nice evening dining. Great tree top views of the Lake and best at sunset
Four of us out of six received cold food. We all had halibut. The fish and sides and sauce(on the side) were all cold. We sent it back and while the waitress said they would remake it, we were later told it had been put iin the oven for 15-20 minutes while we waited patiently. They brought it back and while the plates were hot, the food was luke warm at best. The waitress was very nice and apologetic. No manager ever came by our table to apologize. They comped the bad meals but that’s not the point. Within an hour of eating, one person got extremely ill. They were the one that had the sauce on the side.
Love the entire experience. Have already recommended to some friends That big water grill is a must for dinner
We are in town for a wedding had family members with us. The Big Water Grill was a great dining experience. Highly recommend it.
I loved the fact you had two different proportions when ordering. Our waitress was very professional and gave good suggestions.
First time there. Service was horrible and food extremely average. Extremely slow, forgot to put in our app order, chef's then told waitress our entrees went out but they didn't. Waitress was humiliated and very apologetic. I'll never be back.
Great food , ambiance, and service.
Gorgeous view, great service, outstanding food!
Everything about the evening here was outstanding. Our waiter was excellent, as was the food. It is almost as good as the rival “Grille” restaurant down the road and is an excellent alternative to it. We will definitely return. Definitely one of the top two restaurants in Incline Village.
We all enjoyed our food. I had the salmon and it was cooked well and was tasty. I ordered a glass of wine and it was a good size portion. Our service was excellent. The only negative is that this restaurant is supposed to have a nice view but the shades were closed because of sun. Perhaps an awning would help.
We dine regularly at nice places in Chicago. We are not snobs, but details make a difference. The food, setting and views were excellent as we were told they would be. Now the details.....Our server, Jesse, was top notch. Very engaging and attentive. Friendly and genuinely nice guy. The food tasted great especially because it was not over-salted as many restaurants do. One of my pet peeves is when the busser grabs plates while others at the table are still eating their course. This seems to be common practice and I think it is absolutely rude, making the other person(s) feel rushed. No such problem here. The busser checked but did not approach the table until both of us were finished. Excellent training on management's part. Kudos.
The best things about our dining experience were the view and our waitress Natalie.
Now the negatives: wait assistant “forgot to serve bread” dirty dishes remained on the table, my empanadas were doughy and undercooked, our salmon and sea bass were over salted.
We’ve had great meals there, not this time!
We eat here every year and consider it the best overall restaurant in Incline, NV
We thought the food, ambiance, and view were all just okay. The service we received, however, was outstanding. I think there are better places to try in the area.
Beautiful view. Service thoughtful but had moments of being slow. A bit of a Tahoe throwback and place of local fsvorites
Enjoyable restaurant, great ambiance, special views. Not too crazy about starter menu, limited share plates; food was very good, service too. One of our top restaurants on North Shore. Celebrated with relatives.
Everything I have ordered has been delicious! Loved loved the lettuce wraps and fish tacos!
Fantastic view of Lake Tahoe. Good food, average service. Overall a nice experience.
Four of us Eat on the deck and everyone’s meal was outstanding as was the view.
Pricey. Food was very bland. The Big Water margarita was not good. My companion said it tasted like watered down Capri Sun with tequila. Waitress was great.
Another very good meal at BWG. Busy on the night we were there, and a loud table near us, but didn't ruin our night. Started with cocktails and then onto a nice red wine. Wife had the Caesar salad and said it was garlicky. Then she had the halibut....excellent. I started with veal meatballs and then the wild boar tenderloin....very nice. One thing though, we thought everything was under-salted. Maybe they try to do this for the salt sensitive. Beautiful views and a good meal.
There seemed to be a change in the business throughout the "Village".
Likely not the volume of high end spenders. Perhaps even younger.
The Duck we had was very good, a shame that the vegetables were not nearly as tender.
Wild rice would have been a better side choice.
The food and service was excellent. We had the Ahi Poke for an appetizer and the Halibut for our Maine course.
The restaurant has a beautiful view, food was excellent for the most part. I had the duck breast which was tender and flavorful. Hubby had the venison short ribs, which was delicious and super tender as well. Kids had chicken breast with mashed potatoes, adult sized portions, only wish they put some veggies in it. The only disappointment was the salmon, which was over cooked . The ambience is great, the wait staff very attentive and friendly. Would definitely return and already recommended to friends.
This was our first time here and our party of four thoroughly enjoyed it! The bar was a little loud, but our table was quite comfortable at a corner window with nice views. The food was delicious with smallish portions, not overwhelming huge, so we could enjoy a shared dessert. The chocolate mousse and the lemon cheesecake were a wonderful finish to our meal.
The service was great, food was great, beverages outstanding, we had an upper level table with a fantastic view of the Lake thru the trees.
Nice moderately upscale spot good for a special occasion, with views of Lake Tahoe. Unfortunately during our visit the service wasn’t up to par - waitress was scattered, took forever for our entree’s to come out, and the pasta dish which the waitress told my wife was light on garlic came out loaded with large chunks of garlic and had to be sent back to the kitchen. The place was pretty busy that evening so perhaps the wait staff and kitchen were overwhelmed, which left us underwhelmed on service. Food overall was pretty good. Halibut empanada appetizer was unique and flavorful. Duck breast dish was very good and perfectly cooked.
