Great food, service and wine list. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and it was special. We had great martinis, sitting at a table with a very nice view of Laje Tahoe. Our entrees were very good and creatively prepared. My wife had seared scallops which she said we're terrific. I had cast iron seared filet. Portion was much larger than traditional filets. Wine choices are plentiful, something for everyone at all price points.
This is a higher end restaurant perfect for special occasions.
We met friends Coming out from Boston to ski at Heavenly for the last week of the season. Big Water Grille was halfway between Heavenly and our house. We chose it because the view is excellent and the food has always been reliable. We had outstanding service from Fletch. He understood we were more interested in talking with each other and allowed us to catch up and checked back at appropriate intervals. Hubby had halibut which was ok, lots of cauliflower under the fish which was cooked nicely. I had the naan? pesto pizza thing which was just ok, nothing to rave about. Our guests enjoyed their meatball appetizers and steaks. Don't expect to be blown away by the food, but if you want a relaxed enjoyable dinner this might be your place.
Wonderful dining experience. Food was delicious, service was fantastic. The view and atmosphere were spectacular. Can’t wait to return.
The server made the night, while the food was very good as well. Jordan, our server, was awesome. We dine out a lot and never really get great service anywhere. She went above and beyond which is hard to come for some reason. I think servers and kitchen staff in California just expect 15-20 percent no matter how everything is.
We asked for a few tastes of different wines and champagne before we ordered and she was more than happy to oblige even with our indecisiveness. She was honest about what starter options she preferred given what we'd had at other restaurants we'd been to recently in the area. When we told her we'd likely be sharing everything came out on separate plates with no extra charge. This included the burger, the coconut vegetable soup and the buratta salad. It was refreshing to have a server not groan when we asked to split everything. This was in addition to her really knowing the menu and giving specifics about each despite the lengthy menu. On top of this the food was excellent and spot on. The soup had just enough coconut milk and the vegetable medley was cooked al dente, not soft which gave the vegetables good combined flavor with the coconut. The tomatoes in the buratta seemed to be from California they were so good but we asked and they were from Arizona of all places. We asked where they were from and Jordan didn't hesitate to find out. Finally the burger was really good. The flavors really stood out with the cheese options available. We chose Gruyere.
Overall great experience. Food, atmosphere and service were tremendous. I'd definitely come back.
Have celebrated my birthday as well as our anniversary. Always a favorite place to go.
Awesome view of Lake Tahoe, and the food & service are great to.
The best short ribs ever!!!
A great view and food away from the crowds. We always book a table for before sunset.
Finally got to this place and we weren't disappointed. It's a great location and view. The food and drinks are very good. It's a little bit old school, but the menu items were very well conceived and executed. The best part was the service. From the hostess to the bussers everyone was really great. Especially our waiter Fletch! We celebrated an anniversary and were treated very very well. Definitely going back.
Friends getting together from different locations, for our annual snow week. Enjoyed an excellent dinner with choices for everyone. Nice cocktail and wine options. Great views. Found this place a couple of years ago and it is becoming a tradition. Thanks
Wonderful setting for an evening dinner with friends. Great ambiance, excellent service, and good food.
The food and the service was excellent but the colorful Sunset was spectacular! It's one of our favorite Tahoe restaurants!
Great food and great service! Will be coming back!
Great food and incredibly nice waiters
The Hostess/Wait Person was awesome. She knew when to approach at various stages of the evening. My wife had the lamb shank which she thoroughly enjoyed. Again our wait person allowed her to sub the couscous for mash potatoes. I ordered the special NY strip. It was cooked as requested, it was a bit grissely but very tasty. The accompanying scallop potatoes were unfortunately like leather so I requested some mash potatoes. The views were outstanding, the wait staff was very accommodating so we will be back even though I was not pleased with my entree.
The quality of the food was subpar service was excellent Tommy ounce was excellent but again for the price you’re paying state was grizzly fish was fishy would not recommend either cook at home or save your money for a nice place in your home town or go to Taco Bell
We had a wonderful dinner, views are beautiful and the food is superb!
The main draw of this restaurant is the expansive view of Lake Tahoe, however we arrived after dark so we couldn't see anything. Our fault for trying to make same day reservations, everything before sunset was reserved.
The Filet mignon was overcooked on one side, and undercooked on the other, the glaze on the pork chops has a slight burnt taste to it, but other than that, the meal was excellent. The person who ordered salmon had no complaints.
Service was also excellent and the deserts are worth coming back for.
After several attempts of trying to a cold glass of Chardonnay which proved to be fruitless so I gave up. Several samples from several bottles of white wines were served warm.
Attitude from the heavy set bartender (as I was having dinner at the bar) did not set well as it was his problem to serve a cold glass of wine and not mine. I asked him several times to please put the bottle of wine on ice as I was going to have 2-3 glasses from it with dinner. He would not do it.
He was not very friendly even before I had a chance to order anything. Owners: fix your wine fridge and fire the very unprofessional bartender...he is significantly hurting your business.
Good service, great quality food and a nice environment. Highly recommend when in Tahoe
Service & Food were the very best !!!
Some new items are on the menu, that are delicious.
Out of four items and service slow
One of favorite places in Tahoe! Always great food....beautiful presentation and we like the smaller portion option on many of the entrees!
Celebrated our anniversary and they brought champagne - it was lovely.
Went here at night, so the view was not exceptional. But the food! Oh my! My hubby had the duck and I had the scampi! Both were amazing! Thank you to all the people who made us feel special on a really good day. They even gave us a complementary glass of champagne. So appreciated and we will be back when the sun is out!
We had a birthday party of six for dinner and each of us commented on the quality of the food. The service was excellent and of course we had a beautiful of the Tahoe lights at night.
We were there for our Thanksgiving meal. Good selection of planned entrees and all was really delicious. Service was excellent!
It was a great experience. Everything was excellent, service, food and ambiance.
Jordan our server was really on the ball, from explaining the days specials to picking out the right wine. it was a pleasure to eat there.......Thank you, John Colla
The food was very good and the service was excellent. The decor could use a major update but, it made the rest of the experience a nice surprise. Go for the food, service and the view.
I really like the art work hanging in this restaurant. The menu is limited. My husband had Lamb shoulder cannelloni which was delicious. My salmon on butternut squash was tasty. This was our second visit to this beautiful place.
It was very special, and just what we wanted. The food was amazing, and the staff was friendly and attentive. Our server, Kate, was fantastic, and took the time to make sure our meal, and evening, was special. The view from our table was equally amazing. Thank you to Big Water Grille for a very special, and outstanding experience.
Great Dinner! Really like the "small" plate portion. My Ahi was amazing and the pumpkin cheesecake was to die for. The staff was fun and vary accomodating.
We've been to The Big Water Grill many times and it did not disappoint. I had the duck breast which was superb and my husband had the filet. We both were so impressed with the food and our server. We had a table at the window overlooking the lake and they started us off with a glass of bubbly for our anniversary. Had a bottle of Belle Gloss Pinot. Great time! You've got to try it when you're anywhere near Incline Village.
Overall very pleased, but my lady’s vodka tonic was flat, both of them and we returned them, the second never should have arrived. My dish, Mary’s chicken was great! The wine was great, both white and red and the port was awesome. The ambiance was outstanding with a lake sunset and early evening lights on Lake Tahoe.
Food and service were very good, although expensive.
I had reviewed your menu online prior to making the reservation, was disappointed to find the current menu was different and several items were missing.
The seared ahi dish is particularly good as is the duck. Go early to catch the view before nightfall. Nice ambiance.
Alex was the consummate waitress: friendly, attentive, and spot-on, though casually aware, with our orders. The deck was nicely heated and allowed late evening dining on the deck so we could enjoy the incredible ambiance of the lake and the setting sun over the distant hills . Food was spectacular in presentation, flavor and temperature: they really were attentive to serving up gourmet dining in a way that could be truly appreciated.
Service was awful took us 50
Minutes to get a meal after a reservation of 8'pm not that busy got ONE awful free dessert
We won't be returning or recommending too bad used to a favorite
