Big Fish Grill-Issaquah
Lent...and eating paleo...
High school friends getting together.
I really enjoy this restaurant. The service and food is amazing. There are plenty of choices on the menu and I have yet to be disappointed. The service is professional, attentive and efficient. Big Fish is one of my favorite restaurants.
Always clean, comfortable restaurant.
Food appearance great; all three entrees delicious
We will go back again
Wonderful food and service. My only disappointment was no water refills.
Good food and service. Food was slow likely because it was Valentine’s Day
It was ok - service was struggling and the kitchen was way behind. Food entrees was good, but the chef salad is not very good; a ton of vinegar and no tomatoes.
Waiter asked if my fries wanted the sauce on the salad or on the side, she requested on the salad but it came on the side, don’t ask if you won’t remember. I ordered the prime rib and is was almost all fat. Not worth the price.
We had a delicious dinner at big Fish last Saturday night. I would recommend getting reservations whenever going there for dinner. The restaurant fills up quickly.
Waitress forgot appetizer. Food was good but small portion.
Offered us dessert for forgetting appetizer. We didn’t want dessert. She gave us a $10 discount card.
Our waiter, Steve, was so bad that it ruined our experience. I will not eat at this restaurant again as a result. His service was awful and he was rude, condescending and argumentative.
So bummed out. Starting a new tradition with my kids for Christmas Eve of dinner and a movie and I booked this reservation for 5:30. What I didn't realize was that they were completely closing the restaurant at 7 that evening and were going to do just about anything to get us out before then. This included bringing our entrees before salads and appetizers, not allowing us to order a second beverage (even though we asked) and not once checking in on how our meal was. By 6:30 they were clearly cleaning stations and shutting down the restaurant. While I totally get and agree with wanting to give your employees a Christmas eve evening with their families, it shouldn't be at the expense of customers' evenings.
Our favorite place to eat. The food is delish! And we love how quite it is.
Just okay with food that lacked real attention to detail. Halibut was overcooked, rice was uninspired and asparagus was bland.
Great location for us; the food was outstanding and the service was excellent!
Easy to get in and out. Lots of parking.
The staff worked with when my other guest was late arriving. Very attentive to our needs.
I had a great lunch at Big Fish Grill-Issaquah on Veteran's Day. The restaurant was kind enough to provide me with a free entree since I am a veteran. I could have any entree on the menu no matter the price. I chose my favorite--the Big Fish Seafood Combo salad--it includes grilled salmon, prawns and scallops with blue cheese and bacon crumbles plus avocado and olives with a blue cheese vinaigrette dressing--superb! Jennifer was my server and she was so cheerful and kind to all the diners including a young Coast Guard family there just before their Dad deploys on the ice breaker POLAR STAR to Antartica. A wonderful experience!
Everything was perfect. Shout out to Maddison, who went the extra mile to make sure everything was just right.
Attentive service and very tasty food. Our entire party enjoyed the experience.
Food was excellent. Server was friendly but he forgot our appetizer and then brought us the check without offering desert. Felt pushed out.
We stopped in before a play at the Village Theater. Dinner was delicious, and reasonably priced. We will be back.
Manager stopped by our table several times to check that everything was going ok. Everything was great as it always is when we visit.
Good food and excellent service makes for an enjoyable dining experience. Big Fish Grill delivered on both counts. Well done!
Our family of four went to Big Fish Grill in Issaquah for my birthday. It did not disappoint. My husband and I ordered the Black and Blue Halibut, on their special menu. The presentation was great. We both loved the crisp edges of the seared fish, as well as the blueberry chutney. One son got the crab cakes and enjoyed them. Our other son got a fettucine dish that looked good. I was very impressed with the little touches of the side dishes, like the chutney. Oh - my husband got the waffle cut sweet potato fries ($2 upcharge) and they were wonderfully crispy. I requested that the rice pilaf be swapped out for another veggie and it was no problem. We got the double chocolate brownie. That was the only disappointment. The brownie was cakey and a bit dry. We like the gooey type. All in all, it was a wonderful meal. Angie took great care of us.
The waiter was horrible. He was rude, inattentive and was clearly rushing us out when there were plenty of empty tables. Will not be returning.
Salad tasted like vinegar. I ordered a pesto fettuccini dish, but asked them to add veggies and hold the fish because I'm a vegetarian. The pasta was gummy and the sauce was bad. WIthout the seafood, I was still charged the usual price of $25.00 for the entree--way overpriced for the quality of the food. I've been to this restaurant a few times and it was never this bad. But I noticed the restaurant was almost empty. I think I know why...
I have been here before with friends and had much better service
Not sure if there was less staff than usual but took a while to order drinks and then food
We asked for breads didn’t come also we order a cup of clam chowder which didn’t come also
Bummer esp when you have small children
One issue in particular was the seating for 5 we had. We made reservations several days before hand and the place was somewhat empty. The seating provided was out in the open in the middle of the hallway while people entering would all pass by.
This was the 2nd time we made reservations for 5 to 6 people and the 2nd time we were placed there. Would like to see better seating.
Great food, excellent/friendly Service. Would highly recommend.
We love going to Big Fish, and have been many times. This time our visit got off to a rocky start. When we arrived (at lunch time) there was no one to greet us for quite some time. Finally a manager came to the front to seat us and we said we had a reservation but would like to be seated in the bar. Instead of being grateful for paying customers who came in the day after a holiday when the restaurant was nearly empty he said "we don't reserve tables in the bar" and initially said he would be cancelling our reservation. Then he said "we'll honor it this time but be forewarned we won't do it again". I asked him why he cared where we sat and it seemed that paying customers would be something to be grateful for rather than being unaccommodating. He said "well, we have to pay Open Table and if we save a seat for you in the restaurant and then someone if else can't have a table because we saved it for you we lose money." Are you kidding me??? This was on a day when the restaurant was EMPTY! He never could have filled all the tables he had empty, with or without Open Table. This man was just plain rude! We've never seen him there before, and I'm hoping he doesn't end up being the one to greet customers often because his table-side manners sucked! On the up side, once we did get seated in the bar our server was absolutely delightful - very friendly and helpful, and very sensitive in dealing with another customer who wasn't having a good day. And our food was delicious as it typically is. So even though we had a rough start with the manager we enjoyed our meal in spite of him.
First of all, the food was wonderful! Our waiter was friendly, prompt and attentive but not intrusive.
We met friends on a beautiful summer night in Issaquah. We wanted to sit outside and were seated at 2 tables pushed together. There was another 4 top in front of us. The tables were awkward to get in and out of and there was barely enough room between us and the other table to get in and out. The other party ended up moving to a round table. I would have given this all five stars except the seating was an issue.
Family member retirement party and reunion. Quiet atmosphere for talking and reacquainting. Had a great time, Great food and service.
We went for my wife’s birthday and the food was excellent!
The ambience was lovely. The food was good and reasonably priced. They had a great wine list and specialty drinks. The waitresses were helpful and attentive. They had sweet potato fries, which was a pleasant surprise. I do wish they had specific items that were gluten free.
We have probably been there 10 times. The food has changed and is no longer more than average. The service was definitely less than good, especially since it was a slow time.
The menu selection was good. I don't think any dish on the menu would be bad. My young grandchildren gave it a thumbs up. My omelette was delicious. We will go there again.
Our experience was not great. It seemed like the staff was new or didn’t quite know what was going on, not ideal for a Mother’s Day brunch which I can assume is a busy day. The menus were already in the table but when we were getting seated the host tried to grab menus and the manager scolded her in front of us which was awkward. There was a special fruit and pastry table for Mother’s Day that we had to ask about because the waiter forgot to tell us. The beignets, which we were very excited to try, came out plain like they had missed the powdered sugar in them, not great and the waiter didn’t give us any plates. They didn’t bring us what was ordered, the waiter made a comment on how I ate my food which made me very uncomfortable, the restaurant was dark for being 11 am and it seemed they were trying to get people in and out as fast as possible we were only there for 30 minutes.. all in all we left and it definitely ruined our Mother’s Day. Safe to say we will not be going back.
If you're looking for run of the mill, this is your place. Ingredient quality is why I gave this an average rating. It was just...fine. I had the battered salmon and fries and it was greasy and very over cooked. Coleslaw was probably out of a bag. The friend that I ate with loved it but she's an Olive Garden kind of person. Again, fine.
We had hoped to be able to order some happy hour items and a drink. We we told the happy hour prices were only available in the bar. This was not mentioned in any of the advance information.
Our dinners were very nice, service was good .
