L'Opossum offers dinner Tuesday-Saturday for parties of one to a maximum of six guests. Multiple reservations booked on the same night to form a group larger than six guests are not permitted and will be canceled. Reservations for parties of one to four guests are allotted 2 hours. Parties of five to six guests are allotted 2.5 hours. Please be courteous to your fellow diners by arriving and leaving on time. Please note when booking: Lunch at Lemaire ends at 2pm. From 2pm-5pm we offer a lounge menu. Full dinner starts at 5pm.

New American restaurant and bar that is inspired by the agricultural and coastal traditions and bounty of Virginia. Lemaire delivers the quality and service The Jefferson Hotel is known for, but in an accessible format without the pretense, formality or expense!

Complimentary self-parking is available in both the Adams Street and Main Street lots. Valet parking is $18/car

For special requests (cake, flowers, etc) guests must contact Lemaire directly.

Tables are held for 15 minutes.

Separate checks are not available for parties of six or more. A 20% gratuity will automatically be applies for parties of six or more.

Table/seating requests are noted but not guaranteed.

A wonderful place to celebrate any occasion. For the last 8 years we have celebrated our anniversary here and it has always been a great meal along with great service. This year was our 61st anniversary, so we know good when we have it.

Bienvenue Chez Max!

Savory aromas drift from the kitchen as one enters the front door, giving a hint of culinary delights to come. The casual and comfortable, yet elegant interior of the restaurant is warm and inviting. A large stone fireplace adorns a corner in the main dining room, casting a soft glow around the room.

We are Richmond’s premier French dining experience. Our menu is a collection of dishes cultivated by a Master French chef. We offer an array of fine wines from around the world, over 20 are poured by the glass.

As we are often fully seated on Fridays and Saturdays, we can only hold a reservation for 15 minutes without advanced notice. We allocate 2 hours for parties of 2 to 5, 2 ½ hours for parties of 6 or more. All orders must be back to our kitchen 30 minutes prior to the listed closing time.

To Our Guests:
The amount of guests that you make a reservation for is what you will have available. Example: If you make a reservation for 4 guests and put in the notes that you need a table for 8 guests- you will not have a table for 8 guests but only for 4 guests that you made the reservation for.

Seats at the bar itself are NOT able to be reserved- they are very limited and are first come first serve. If you book the bar tables on Opentable- the reservation will be for the tables in the lounge that are located behind the bar.

Seats on the patio are also NOT able to be reserved. If a reservation is made and in the notes you have requested outside or patio this does not guarantee you an outside table.

First time visit, wasn’t sure of what dining experience we would expect. We were pleasantly surprised and impressed. The atmosphere, quality of service and food was excellent! The waiter, Sam was friendly and very polite. Explained the menu choices and the sides to enjoy with our steak. The manager Alex was very friendly and welcoming. The menu has excellent offerings other than just steaks. The food was exceptionally delicious and hot, not lukewarm. Steaks were cooked to our satisfaction and sides were as well, not like they were sitting under a warming lamp. The caramelized onions and mushrooms were excellent as well as the creamed spinach, highly recommend both. The atmosphere and decor is luxurious and inviting with soft warm lighting. A very special place for a special occasion or event, yet one you will want to enjoy any night of great dining. We will definitely return for the fine dining experience or enjoying the happy hour. Great time.
