Chef and owner Joel Gilbert decided after years of searching for the perfect location that he was going to begin his journey with his first brick and mortar restaurant on the most Northern Point of Forest Lake, in Lake Zurich Illinois. After years of working and running restaurant establishments and working with his company Butter & biscuit Co. at local farmers markets, Joel has established great friendships and partnerships with some of the best local farmers. Joel took this opportunity to use the best seasonal products for his Italian inspired cuisine. As always - food was excellent and servers were knowledgeable and friendly. Only downside is the noise level in the room - extremely loud. They need something on the walls/ceiling to help absorb the noise.

We had Easter brunch at Gianni's Cafe today and it was outstanding. They had prime rib and ham carving stations along with multiple pasta and Seafood options. Food was really good, constantly brought out fresh, and the price was ridiculously reasonable for Easter brunch. We eat dinner they're frequently, and they have never let us down a single time. I highly recommend Gianni's Cafe for lunch or dinner anytime!

What can I say.. we live in Michigan, we know really good Italian cuisine and I have to say that from the focaccia to the Agnolotti to the Bucatini Cacio e Pepe everything was delicious and perfect! I can say that the Cacio and Pepe was even better than some Italian restaurant that we went in Italy! The Agnolotti were amazing, all the flavors were balanced together! I really recommend to try this restaurant, the Chef is really a rear gem! Is really difficult to find restaurants that keeps the same flavor and quality of real Italian food and I have to say that in this restaurant they got the shot! Thank you for the wonderful experience!
