Potente is a sophisticated and upscale Italian restaurant located in downtown Houston led by Executive Chef Danny Trace. Every dish is locally sourced and uses only the highest quality ingredients. Try our chef favorite homemade pasta with black truffles shaved table side, petite filet with pistachio gremolata and homemade desserts sure to delight!

Our attire is relaxed formal. Shorts, hats, sneakers, torn clothing and sweat pants not permitted.

About the restaurant

The plains of Southern Brazil are filled with grazing cattle enjoying the vast pastures. These cattle are the source for the famous and centuries old Brazilian “Churrasco” barbecues. It was at these gatherings where Brazilian cowboys or “gauchos” would prepare large pieces of meat and slowly cook them over open flame pits. Our traditional gaucho chefs still follow these traditions to preserve the flavors of each cut of meat.

We feature unlimited tableside service of different cuts of beef, pork, lamb, and chicken. We also feature a gourmet salad bar, and various traditional side dishes to complement the meats.
You can control your service with a small green and red-sided card. The green side tells the gaucho chefs to bring out skewers of sizzling meats to the table while the red signals a stopping point. To re-start service, simply display the green side again.

Went for an anniversary dinner--they put a rose and glitter and an hand written card wishing us the best. Zach was our phenomenal server, the chef came to make sure our food was as ordered and the manager came by with an anniversary wish and checking on things. It was a great experience all around I will make it one of my regular places to go.

Classic French cuisine? This is the place. Well prepared and exquisitely presented dishes. The wines are of course mostly French and there are many higher end ones available by the glass with a Coravin. The sommelier is excellent and very personable. I highly recommend this restaurant.
