Amazing food, amazing staff, beautiful experience
We asked for Bergamot's special anniversary five-course menu. It was extraordinary from start to finish. Selection, preparation and presentation of dishes were all sublime. My dry cocktail was perfect as a palate cleanser! Not something usually associated with cocktails! Foodies, review the menu on-line! Then make a "bee-line" for Bergamot!
Great food, lethargic service
We returned to this nice spot, bringing friends, and I was quite embarrassed. I had to ask repeatedly for a wine list, we waited a VERY long for food, and even longer to get the attention of the waiter. Perhaps they were short staffed, or perhaps it was in part due to a party of 22 (!) that they accommodated on a Saturday night (perhaps a third of their total capacity? should not have allowed that without extra staff on, IMO) - neither of those possible excuses are my problem, management and staff performed poorly and we won't rush back.
The food was delicious. As a Spaniard, I am used to use tablecloths. When I see it in a restaurant here in US I know it will be better than others.
This place used to be great. It is now not worth your time or money. The food was disappointing, the presentation was lacking, the wine list was uninspired, the service was mediocre. We felt robbed when we left. So sad to see a great place go down the tubes. I will never go back.
We all loved everything. My only complaint was that we were one of the first tables of the night and the rest room was a little dirty. But we had a ball and will return.
Restaurant has really gone downhill. Service was awful. Wait staff was nowhere to be found. Appetizers took 20 minutes to arrive and entrees took 25 minutes and were cold. Place was only 50% capacity as early so no excuse. Music was too loud.
Wonderful!! Did the 5 course chef’s tasting and it was amazing.
I know that Bergamot has had a good reputation, which is a key reason I brought colleagues and a job applicant there for an important dinner. However, it was a disappointing experience. The service was not welcoming and the food was just so-so for the price. It might have been a bad day for the people working there, but the waiter was not welcoming and it was hard to understand the person taking our order. We all had the hallibut, which was delicious, but the sauce (as well as the appetizers) just didn't impress. The fresh bread and butter-of-the-day were excellent. Unfortunately, the restaurant was chosen to impress our guest, which it did not.
We've decided that Bergamot is going to be our place to go whenever we have the urge to go out for a really great meal. The food is fabulous. Our waiter was lovely. It was perfect.
We had dinner with our two sons and a friend. The appetizers were delicious. I had the Kale Brussels salad, my husband had the roasted beets, and one son had the risotto. All were delicious! Two of us had the pork chops, one had the halibut, and two had the short ribs. We were all very pleased with our selections! And desserts were great, too. Highly recommend this restaurant. The service was wonderful, as well.
Food and ambiance was fantastic. We went in on a whim for dine out Boston and were seated right away. Front staff and service was great. Our biggest complaint is with the kitchen staff and wait times for our meals. We both thought we waited just a bit too long to be served our appetizers, entree and dessert. Would recommend going with big parties with lots of conversation who want to be waited on hand and foot but don’t mind waiting. A three course meal taking 2+ hours was just too long
We went for Dine Out Boston. The food was excellent and the ambiance was nice. Highly recommend!
Great foods! Lovely ambience! We all had a great time.
We took advantage of restaurant week but their menu offers 3 course dinners for a few bucks more outside of restaurant week so we will definitely want to take advantage of that. Plus the entree prices were very reasonable and outstandingly delicious. For the 3 courses I had a kale/shaved Brussels salad with a delicious dressing, then seared scallops with wild mushrooms and rabe in a scrumptious sauce (forget what), and a dessert of chocolate mousse. Everything just perfectly cooked and flavorful. My husband had the appetizer with crispy potatoes and a pistachio sauce, the huge pork chop which he loved, and I forget his dessert. We both loved the food and atmosphere. This will be someplace we’ll come back to with friends and for a nice dinner out.
A good meal
lovely experience despite Dine Out week's reduced pricing
Dining in Restaurant Week
Ate at the bar- Nicole was friendly and working hard making great cocktails!
Food was good, scallop crudo and branzino!
Bergamot continues to be one of my favorite restaurants.
Food was good but it took 45 minutes to get a drink order in...and the service did not get better. It was 2 1/2 hours when we finally asked for our check after waiting for our server to come and take the desert order which never came after we paid for our 3 course orders. It’s a shame because the food was pretty good but the service was the worst I’ve had in Boston in awhile.
Excellent food and the wine pairing was superb. The German Pinot Meunier was excellent, only it isn't available anywhere locally, I looked on line.
I came here the first time for dine-out Boston and the food was absolutely amazing! The braised short ribs is moist, tender and flavorful. The apple spiced cake is a bit sweet but still very tasty!
Despite running out of the homemade gnocchi we were happy with the mouthwatering dishes that were offer at Bergamots. The meal was cooked with fresh local ingredients and creative appetizers and entrees. I had scallops that were perfectly cooked. We enjoyed the spinach ricotta.
We enjoyed the cocktails; but wish they offered more Italian wines.
The waitstaff despite being very busy offered prompt service. They surprised us with a bonus dessert that had congratulations on it. We went there to celebrate our son’s engagement with his fiancée. It had a nice atmosphere allowing us to chat freely.
Thanks for a wonderful dinner!
I went to Bergamot, expecting a good time, but what I got was truly phenomenal. The food was absolutely incredible, the service was amazing, and the atmosphere was charming and comfortable. The risotto was one of, if not the best risotto I have ever had. They even had great mocktails, which I normally can't find at most other restaurants. I'm looking forward to my next night out at Bergamot.
Super restaurant. High-end. Love the food and the ambience.
Food was delicious. Service was a bit slow and our main waiter could have been friendlier, but other staff compensated.
Recommend with reservations (no pun). The beauty of the restaurant and professionalism of its staff did not quite defray the effect of our waiter's coldness and abruptness. He was knowledgable but perhaps in an off mood or not fond of people. Our meals (2) were good-excellent, with an A+ for the Bib salad and grilled carrots. The noise level was great, we could hear each other talk, except when they turned the volume up on the sound system late in the meal. The hostess was elegant and very helpful. Over all, a B+/A- on dining, A on atmosphere, and B- on table service (only one waiter was unfriendly, and very slow to serve/inquire/respond).
The food, service and atmosphere at Bergamot continue to be outstanding. This is one of my favorite restaurants in the Boston area
This was my 2nd time dining there and it was great both times for me. First time we did the chef tasting 7 course menu and everything was delicious and I got to try many items, so we decided to have a regular dinner with our friends and we all enjoyed everything, will definitely go back for more dining experiences.
We visited early on a Friday and had the tasting menu with wine pairings and everything was wonderful. I have trouble hearing and the noise level was fine even after the room filled around 7.
Very good service. Valentine’s Day prix fixe.
Soup very salty. Beet salad also a bit salty.
Ravioli a bit on bland side. The mushroom ravioli from wholefoods are better.
On the whole enjoyed our meal.
Service very good. Ambiance very nice.
Will come back on a regular service night.
Great food. Not too much, not too little. Prompt service despite it being super busy. Great waiting staff. Wine pairings good, and dessert was to die for.
Staff was welcoming and willing to explain menu items. Also, they were attentive to some individual requests in our party of four. Overall ambience was pleasant.
We had a wonderful date night dinner at Bergamot. Interesting cocktails, outstanding Iggy’s bread, simple but very tasty food. Ambience was almost perfect - low lights and comfortable, but slightly annoying music. Only issue was the lack of a vegetarian entree. I’m used to it, but was surprised to have to cobble some small plates together. Not a big deal, but surprising.
Fabulous food; this is what really stood out. The dishes each had several smaller elements complementing the main item and all were exquisite, and worked well together. The meal was paced very well, which I really appreciate at a fine restaurant.
Nice selection of drinks. The option to have a prix-fixe dinner but not need to decide til later (when you decide if you want a third course) is a thoughtful touch.
Had the tasting menu it was fantastic
This was the third year we went to Bergamot to celebrate my mom’s birthday and it will definitely be our last! The service was just terrible: our waiter seemed pained by our existence. It’s a shame because the food and cocktails were delicious as always, but not enough to make up for the unacceptable service.
Great food, Great place.....
