Bennett's Chop & Railhouse

It's called a chophouse because it specializes in a casual steakhouse atmosphere with top-of-the-line cuts of the finest meats. It is a Rail-house because it is on the old railroad line serving the city and rail drinks (as well as top brands) are served in the convivial atmosphere of the horseshoe bar.
And of course Bennett's is Bennett's because owners Joe and Meghan Bennett ensure that welcoming hospitality is always served. They have taken their decades of experiences with leading hospitality brands and translated it into an intimate venue where you're not only a customer, but more importantly, a welcome guest.
Always a good time.
A great neighborhood spot. Great menu for any type of appetite.
Always a great meal and super service in a warm and welcoming environment.
Good food and selection for a bar type atmosphere
Great food, especially the Saturday night prime rib special and the croutons on the side salad were homemade and soft-delicious!
As regular customers, we were extremely disappointed with the service. The waiter forgot to place one of our orders and that last one was submitted to the kitchen and received after he cleared the dishes for the remaining group members. It's not fun eating by yourself. Not even any comp. for it....
Drinks were wrong. Food was horrible. The shrimp and lobster pot pie came out huge but once you cut into it, it deflated and had about 3 vegetables in it, 2 pieces of shrimp and 2 tiny pieces of Lobster. There was nothing inside of it. The prime rib could of been cut better with a table saw. And the Au Gratin potatoes were a mix of Grease or oil and large pieces of hard potatoes. It wasn’t a good experience. However or waiter was amazing. AMAZING
Great meal with great service.
Great walleye and salad, and martinis are perfect!
I'd recommend for the food and service but be prepared for noise. It is loud.
We were for a place that had pasta and steak and this fit the bill. My wife had fetuccini which she said was good at first but after a while the sauce became kind of overpowering. I had the T-bone steak medium rare and it was very flavorful. We were on our way to a concert at the Xcel Energy Center and they had a free shuttle.
Terrific pre-Wild game experience.
We had requested a booth out of the where it would have less noisy, we were directed to a center table, the quite booths were still empty when we left. Food was good, service was OK, but far too noisy.
We are neighborhood and regulars and come in a lot. We called ahead to ensure this reservation was good to go - 10 people for 11:30. Bennett's serves breakfast from 9 AM to noon. We were told that we had to pick as a group between breakfast or dinner. We said okay we'll do breakfast. Then our server said "actually you have to have dinner." I had recommended this place to all of my friends for BREAKFAST after the marathon so I looked like an idiot. Our server proceeded to be rude to us for the next hour and every drink request felt like an inconvenience.
It doesn't look like much from the outside, and from the inside it looks cluttered and kind of chaotic, but don't let that fool you. The food was fantastic and the service was very fast. I asked for a glass of Jameson and had it in less than two minutes.
The prime rib was wonderful, great flavor. The carrot cake was truly evil (in a good way). Reservations highly recommended. I'll definitely be back!
Excellent as always. Hands down Msp best bar.
Very cool comfortable place with quick service and awesome food at really good value. A little noisy when 90% of the tables are full.
The best MN Wild pre-game place to visit. Great food; shuttle to the game; coldest bottle beer in the metro. Servers were all busy; missing a staffer who was a “no call-no show” for shift was the only hiccup of the day.
Very nice neighborhood restaurant with good food.
Very unassuming place with great food, overly generous portions, and great service. Certainly not fancy...but a place we will be going back to in the future.
Great service. We made a reservation earlier in the day and got seated on time. Food and drinks were perfect. Our waitperson was awesome, his recommendations were spot on. A bit noisy but it’s a lively place. Will definitely be going back.
At the end of the meal when I asked for a cup of coffee, it felt like I was asking for the moon.
Won't go back. And that's a shame because the food was so good.
Always a great experience at Bennett’s. Tonight took some friends visiting from out of town, and had a wonderful meal and excellent service. By far the best steak in the Twin Cities, and reasonably priced.
All you can eat crab legs on Friday is so much fun!
Good food, good service, good deal!
Twn of us from work went to dinner. It was a wonderful experience. Food was great and so was the service. Great time.
We’ve been regular’s at Bennetts. Unfortunately the service declined as well as the food. Server was not the best. It will be quite awhile before we go back.
Great meal and drink before my wife and I went to MNUFC Loon’s game!!! Free shuttle to and from game. Just a delightful evening definitely will do again.
This was a terrible experience and my family and I enjoy the small neighborhood restaurant but the service is terrible. We’ve given several opportunities for improvements. My cocktail is somewhat better with a fruit a orange inside and the Orange has Mold.. The waiter just changed it out didn’t really seem too apologetic.. about the Molded fruit.. and we’ve given up. The food was cold and burned. We even invited new friends that dined in for the first time that we’re very disappointed with the service. The unlimited crab legs are now $50 and all the crab legs were cold potatoes cold and hard.. it was awful, so I had to write this review with hopes of improvement. Sorry
Great service and great food! Each of us enjoyed our dining experience.
I went in expecting a little fancier, but it’s definitely more of a laid back atmosphere. We went before a concert for date night. The food was absolutely amazing! The burger with the crab cake on it was phenomenal. Service was quick and polite, definitely a great spot for a date.
They need to fix their front door and spruce place up a bit. It's pretty well worn inside the building.
Had a great lunch on a Friday-two of us had burgers and the third the pot pie. All were very happy with our choices. Service was very attentive.
So the service was great and the appetizers were what you expect from bar food. The meals themselves were good we all ordered different cuts of steaks. The "Tomahawk" steak was just a bone in ribeye and they should call it that on the menu. It was far from a 1 1/2" to 2" steak and therefore not worth the $$$.
Its bar food with some nice entrees-
All around awesome!
Excellent service. Friendly employees. Great tasting food.
We have been going to Bennett's for years - we accidentally discovered it. It's a neighborhood gem, with excellent food, great martinis, and great service. And, the shuttle to events at the Xcel Energy Center is an added bonus. We highly recommend Bennett's - wish it was closer to where I live!
This is my go to place before going to Wild games or concerts. The food is always delicious and the drinks are strong.
Always have a great experience. Great food and service in friendly atmosphere.
We were on vacation and decided to check it out. Half priced burgers on Thursdays and our waitress was very helpful and nice!
