   Dinner wasn’t cooked by the chef correctly and the hostess kept pushing bottled water a lot.

   We came here for our daughter’s birthday. I had the lobster and filet. It was delicious. Our daughter loved her food as well. Our service was great as well.

   Unfortunately, I have visited two other Benihana’s locations in Illinois and this one was the worst that I experienced. I definitely would prefer going downtown and paying $25 for parking because the experience at that location is superior. At this location, the food was not cooked the same, and the servers as well as the cooks are not as experienced at making sure that the food is to your liking. On top of that I was there to celebrate my birthday.

   Food was 4/5, cooking show was not as exciting as I remember it to be, they gave an item we ordered to another table mate when we were in the restroom by accident but they did make it at the end when I asked about it. Hosts were very friendly. Server was helpful.

   Ezequiel was wonderful and was able to improve with all the Dad jokes at the table. When things were missing from his cart he discreetly got help and it did not break his performance. Our waitress was sweet and patient with us especially when i forgot that open table disclosed our anniversary. 😅 The bartenders mixed our drinks well and help me discover a new sake!

   The Chef was messy. Food flicking everywhere. Noone remembered the special instructions. My girlfriends birthday and first time experience was horrible. Cook wasn't funny but quiet and dry. My steak was too raw and cooked fast as if he was running out of time. I got 4 small baby shrimp as if I didnt pay for my dish. Very stingy with food quanity. I thought to myself, maybe hes new and learning. But either way the experience there was horrible and waste of money. Never again!!!

   I have been a loyal Benihana fan since 1987 and at that time, Benihana Schaumburg has undergone some renovations but not enough to make them competitively modern. The restaurant looked like the way it did 35 plus years ago in Schaumburg. It truly needs a major overhaul especially the dining area. Otherwise, the food, as always, is delicious, satisfying and consistently fresh. Keep it up!
